I guess driving a car is Haram because you know the danger of getting in a car , 1000's of people die from car accidents each year. you know tobacco from cigars go through a process that eliminates the toxins and nicotine that's in tobacco is aged about 3- 4 years, cigarettes tobacco is not it has additives and its wrapped is white chemical paper. but a good cigar is not haram from time to time .

Sura 81:22-25 says, "No, your compatriot [Muhammad] is not mad. He saw him [Gabriel] on the clear horizon. He does not grudge the secrets of the unseen, nor is this the utterance of an accursed devil."

Here Muhammad is saying to his critics that he really saw an angel, and his words are not from a devil, or from his own imagination.

No doubt the people living at that time thought he was inspired by a devil, so Muhammad spoke these words, in the Quran, in self defense.

Even the Quran, says people believed that Muhammad was possessed by demons.

What are the possibilities?

The things that come to mind are that:

1. Muhammad says he saw angel Gabriel (no solid proof) - so? Is it enough? to make him a prophet?

2. Muhammad may have seen demon, or Satan himself.

3. Muhammad experienced some type of delusion.

4. Muhammad suffered from epilepsy or other mental problem had already been confirmed by Halima his wet nurse.

5. Combination of #s 2, 3, and/or 4.

In Quoran it is mentioned that on day of judgement Allah (SWT) may forgive you any sin but he will never forgive you for killing innocent person or comitting suicide as it is Allah (SWT) who has through his laws of nature created you and will take you back thriough his laws of nature. Smoking is slow poisoning amounts to comit suicde.

If smoking is haraam, why are cigarettes sold in Mecca?

My uncle was on Hajj recently, said many, many people smoked while they were there, and there were many shisha cafes around as well.

@faizalkassam I was on Hajj too :) i didn't see any cigarettes ) on outside Masjid there was NO SMOKING SIGN

@faizalkassam That's because long time ago someone gave a fatwa here that smoking is not haram. That was before the harmful effects of smoking were known. Now it's a big industry and can't be stopped just like in the rest of the world everybody knows about its harm but can't stop. I live in Saudi Arabia and selling or buying cigarette in Makkah and Madina are prohibited. Your uncle is talking about Jeddah I think. If Saudi govt allows something it doesn't mean that Islam does too.

i diss agree... in that context that dont make ur own hands the cause of destruction meanz something else,not even slow poising .

if sword fighting and learning fighting tactics hurt you then they r also haram according to dr zakir , then why sahaba karam do sword fighting.. if learning martial arts hurts then martial arts is also haram , according to zakir naik....

today we know alot of polution is in streets so its like slow poisoning... so walking in street is also haram... hahaha...

@rajafaisaltariq smoking and sword fighting is totally differant things and dont compre the both ok! self defence in is allowed in islam, and obviously to defend 1 self you must learn the art of mix martial arts or even sword fighting. I think you saying such thing is very ignorant on your behalf.

i think sharaab in arabic means intoxicating drink,but in urdu translation they say alcohol or made out of grapes,this means we do have alcoholic in muslim and in power,because of addiction they bring intoxication in a form of alcohol and say rest intoxicating drink is halaa is it right?l

well eating too much is haraam too,because it can cause death or walk in city where so much smoke of deisel engine, cooking etc, but do not compare alcoholism to smoke,which is in Quran that alcohol is haraam in any form, or say intoxicating drinks in any form,but even carry is haraam,now don't try to say kuppi is halaal or mukhro it is haraam,any drink which take in large quantity disguise brain totally is haraam or eveb 1 sip is haraam to,surely hurting own self in any is haraam

@wayz8 what! walking in streets is haraam? He said accourding to world health organisation smoking is the second biggest factor for death after alcohol. Bro where did you get the authoritie to give fatwa? ie, saying eating too much is haraam and walking in city due to diesel smoke.
