I would agree if you just look at the number but numbers are completely decieving as to a cars' actual performance. Every test of the GTR vs the ZR1 usually results in the same conclusion, the GTR Winning. OK First, The GTR is 4wd and far more aerodynamic than the vette. It gearbox is dual clutch and it loose hardly any power in its drivetrain. resulting in far more performance at less HP, and Torque is pretty equal to the ZR1 and Torque is what makes you go, NOT HP!. HP is about top speed

AWD traction is a son-of-a-bitch. If you can launch hard and keep the lead going, youll win. It as simple as that. The Vette was overall faster, just not fast enough to make up the difference before the finish line.

Let's see, AWD in the GT-R - superior grip on takeoff, curb weight is listed at 3820 lbs, while the Corvette has 720 (doubtful) and is RWD with a curb weight of around 3317 lbs. - it's hard to get traction on a hard launch. And.. the Corvette never pulls on it... Means way more horsepower than 550 in the GT-R. The simple fact that anybody could jump in the GT-R and set everything to "R" mode, then floor it in a straight line says something. Vette owners are recommended taking a driving course.

If such a thing were possible, a 900hp 2 cylinder engine would run just as fast as a 900hp v-12 engine. The only reason the GT-R is any sort of "good" (i say "good" because using launch control blows your clutch to pieces very quickly, and it understeers like a pig) is because of it's AWD system. Put AWD on the Vette (which can already run 3 second 0-60 times), and you'd have a 2.5sec 0-60.
the 2013 GT-R (0-60 2.7s & 1/4mi 10.8s) comes here in January 2012 and will eat this overpriced Saturn Sky, whoops i mean Corvette ZR1, for breakfast.

A true drag race is 1 mile not 1/4 mile. This is awd vs rear wheel and of course the gtr is going to fly off the line. If you look closely at the end of the vid right as they cross the 1/4 mile line the zr1 is moving at a faster speed.

@andwestuk uhhh dude everybody knows the GTR is not that fast the reason it wins most of its races is because it has launch control and flies off the line with all its traction, the ZR1 no launch control it has to take it easy or lose traction speeding off the line, if you look close at the end the ZR1 caught the GTR

Let's see, AWD in the GT-R - superior grip on takeoff, curb weight is listed at 3820 lbs, while the Corvette has 720 (doubtful) and is RWD with a curb weight of around 3317 lbs. - it's hard to get traction on a hard launch. And.. the Corvette never pulls on it... Means way more horsepower than 550 in the GT-R. The simple fact that anybody could jump in the GT-R and set everything to "R" mode, then floor it in a straight line says something. Vette owners are recommended taking a driving course.

@MrVampirekaname Doesn't matter if the GT-R had a v8, idiot. Engine size has nothing to do with anything. If such a thing were possible, a 900hp 2 cylinder engine would run just as fast as a 900hp v-12 engine. The only reason the GT-R is any sort of "good" (i say "good" because using launch control blows your clutch to pieces very quickly, and it understeers like a pig) is because of it's AWD system. Put AWD on the Vette (which can already run 3 second 0-60 times), and you'd have a 2.5sec 0-60.
