This is good. Im not sure if you could help me with this but Im a film student looking to shoot part of a scene for a production Im directing somewhere on the streets in downtown hamilton. We're a very small crew and we don't need to lock down an area. We're also only going to shoot for a few hours creating no obstructions. Do you think we will need any permits from the city to legally shoot? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Shot by shot though, the morning sun is shot on the side of Mount Karioi, Raglan, West Coast Waikato, the indian garden is at the Hamilton Rose Gardens, about a block from my house in Hamilton East, the rest of the shots are in the Central Business District
- Garden Place with the Krisnas, and Alexandra Street for the drumming group.
You can probably google up more info if you like, but one video I'd recommend if you'd like to see more of Raglan is Endless Summer, it's a surf movie from the seventies or sixties, there is a small section in there on some of the bays out west. That's the place to visit, H-Town city is ok, but Raglan is killer.
I lived out west for a few years, one of the best moves I made in my life... back in the city now with a real job, a haircut, and parking metres... mind you, out here we call 200,000 a big city. Check out my FSOL - Papua New Guinea clip which tells a better city to coast story, then back to the city, to the coast, to the city, out to the countyside... etc.
I'm pretty sure most of the shots are in chronological order from 2005-2007, you can get a better look at my picasa web album (picasaweb-dot-google-dot-com- forward-slash-mr-dot-mukura), or try maybe viewing clip in high qual, I didn't realise the compression was so crunchy - has washed out a lot of detail. Any other questions, fire away.

@mrmukura economy is tuffs, but were already recommending it. its not "omg the world is terrible" town, but the people CAN be selfish and judgmental.
