Not to nit-pick or anything, but you missed out "r" in "dictionary" and "summarize" is American terminology. It's always an "s" in "-ize" for true English. "Summarise".

The thing I hate about reading so GOD dam much is the fact that they use so many cryptic languages and metaphors in their sentences to get us to understand the meaning behind the message. I mean is it really necessary for authors to do that? It confuses our brain. Instead why won't they just use plain simple english so that way we would be able to comprehend the story better? It pisses me off everytime when I attempt to re-read the paragraph over and over I still failed to get understand it

Well, actually, the verb 'to spell' can be used in both ways in past simple and past participle: spell spelt spelt and spell spelled spelled, it's the same, James made a little mistake! that's certain.

i agree in some parts, i mean its depend what sort of dictionary you have people always try to translete words to their language but true is there isnt a exactly translation, what you see in the translation is a idea than the transleitor gives to you, my suggest is use a dictionary english english it will be tough at the begining but if you really push yourself you will see great results, dont worry if you dont undestand before you start using your dicctionay learn comund words

it's not as easy as that. summerise is not an easy technique it can be more difficult than the process of reading itself. it seems that much information on how to summerise the important ideas would be of a great help for learners.
