  • I'm glad to see recognition of the unique complexity of "Bud" by some of you. "Bud" is by far my favorite character in either movie. He adds depth and irony and he's the most likeable. He's the funniest character and the most serious. He's a total slob that loves art. he's seems such a weakling then surprisingly clever and vicous. The audience admiress his principles and by far he's the best philosopher.

  • NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE PANTERA BILL!!

  • lul drama

  • He has just entered a televised gameshow called 'Celebrity big brother' on English T.V. He has just gone down in my estimation and opinion.

  • @101truthhurts I'm sure he's worried.

  • Michael Madsen! I really liked his performance in "Reservoiur Dogs" and in "Thelma & Louise". + I like his voice ;)

  • Whats the music in the background? Anybody know?

  • @tsphilly98 Nora Orlandi - Dies Irae

  • @Russell19227 THANK YOU! ^_^

  • Budd was a bad ass, remember he was the only one to truly get the drop on the bride. I like to think the reason he didn't finish her off and choose to bury her alive instead, was because he truly did believe he deserved to die and wasn't going to "jew out of his come uppence".

  • @kylemas2005 Gogo, however, came the closest to defeating the Bride in straight one-on-one combat. Had she been more aware of her surroundings she'd likely have finished off the Bride and then realizing that she's a sexy beast and just killed someone who her own boss was afraid to fight, she would have then killed O'ren, and ran the Crazy 88 as the new queen of crime in Tokyo.

  • @unak78 Gogo faced Bea after Bea had killed the Crazy 88 and lopped that woman's arms off. Gogo would've been minced meat if Bea had faced her first... she wouldn't have got down the stairs in one piece.

  • what kind of car does Bill have parked there?

  • Michael Madsen is brilliant. One of the best actors out there.

  • I always think of this scene whenever I hear the word cool, it's almost like Bill is talking about douches!

  • @RufusWan finally someone who gets Bill's humor!

  • David Carradine R.I.P! Thank you for all the great movies. We all missed you dearly.

  • Sure looked like there were 88 of them.

  • Tarantino is a brilliant writer and director, this everyone knows. But that I really love about him is the way he casts his movies. Would ANYONE else in Hollywood cast David Carradine as this character? Or Michael Madsen for that matter? Quentin knows goes for good actors rather than stars. Except for Brad Pitt in Basterds, that I'll never understand. Madsen should have been cast as Aldo.

  • @darkknight07100 Brad Pitt wouldn't be in his position with the amount of success he has if he wasn't an extremely intelligent guy, and played his part in Basterds brilliantly, and also, his involvement of The Departed made it what it is.

  • 2:33 is my favorite line in the scene. then budd's is good to.

  • what kind of car is Bill's car in the background?

  • @nikyliz14 looks like DeLorean

  • @Gengulu1990 Meh not a DMC, i'd say older 80's/90's Porsche

  • @nikyliz14 looks like a detomaso pantera

  • @BoneHeadK47 Close. De Tomaso Mangusta.

  • While I didn't think this film as a whole stood up to Part 1, I do think the main characters (Bride, Bill, Budd, Elle) in Part 2 are all well-acted and performed.

  • @kalelarea51 My guess is that Bill was an assassin at some point, but as the squad grew Bill took on a more administrative role. Remember, when Bill and Beatrix had their final talk Bill calls himself a "killer" and a "murdering bastard". So that tells me he was an active assassin in the past.

  • @kalelarea51 I think so. Very, very deep down.

  • I wonder why Budd lies about selling his sword?

  • @711grim ....cause the sword is priceless and Bud's not an idiot....if Bill knew Bud had the sword,he would have wanted it for himself to defend against Uma Thurman..........you just have to read between the lines on that one.....in the end,Bud helped Uma Thurman and Bud also show ed the most compassion out of all of the assains even though he buried her. (w/ a flashlight keep in mind.)

  • @lazerbeak2125 but Bill already had a sword... why would he need Budd's?... and burying her alive with a flashlight seems pretty fucked up. She shot her in the chest and didn't want her alive...

  • @711grim ...Bill never had the sword...thats why he asked Bud....

  • @lazerbeak2125 but what about the sword that he fought Uma Thurman with i th end... he never went to see budd after this scene, and he asked budd if he kept up on HIS swordplay...

  • @lazerbeak2125 It's always seemed pretty clear to me that O'ren was the closest thing that Beatrix had to a friend among the whole crew. She knew her whole life story, they had reminiscent words at the end and Bea seemed very saddened when she killed her. Budd showed Bea the respect that she deserved and was only being honest when he said that she both deserved her revenge and deserved to die. But he didn't necessarily like her any more than the others.

  • @711grim Keep in mind that this is my personal opinion. But I believe that Budd simply wanted to erase all the symbols of what he used to do. Or at least he wanted Bill to think he had. Remember that only Elle and Bill were still actively working as assassins. The others had moved on. O-Ren became a crime boss, Vernita a house mom, Budd a bouncer. Budd's name was codename was Sidewinder for a reason. He's clever and crafty but he also treasured Bill's gift.

  • @TheNexus565 In O-Ren's case, I wouldn't really consider that "moving on"

  • @mphlohi True. Maybe "moving on" was a poor choice of words. What I meant to say is probably closer to evolved.

  • @711grim And couldn't bring himself to get rid of it. Truly. Sorry for the novel answer. :)

  • @TheNexus565 That was actually pretty well thought out

  • @711grim Thank You. :)

  • 3 people couldn't get over being mad at Bill.

  • 2:38 love that line!!... "That woman deserves her revenge, and we deserve to die."

  • @ConAmorELLY

Agreed. That actually might be my favorite scene in the movie. Budd was so complex.

  • @ConAmorELLY "Then again. (laughs) So does she."

    :D

  • @ConAmorELLY yeah but then he was waiting she arrives with a shotgun LOL

  • Bud was awesome!..wish he had more film time..Madsen is great in everything he touches...a natarul actor....just his expression is enough to make you feel his fellings.

  • man thats not fair beatrix didn't kill budd and budd never knew she still alive what is up with that?!!! thats fucked up

  • Michael Madsen should have been considered for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for this movie

  • best line in a movie that i have ever seen since the last 9 years "that woman deserves her revenge and we deserve to die"

  • what is the tune that plays when budd says the words.."that woman deserves her revenge, and we deserve to die" . it starts from 2:20 i guess..

  • @pujanairr Its called Dies Irae. You can listen to it here

    watch?v=Bs5NiunOwh8&feature=related

  • @pujanairr Nora Orlandi, Lo Strano Vizio Della Signora Wardh - 25 - Dies Irae 2 (M9)

  • @pujanairr tt is the soundtrack to the movie... its called Budd's Lonely Trailer... its available on youtube

  • @cool16790

No, the music is actually called Dies Irae. It's a Latin hymn, from traditional Roman Catholicism. It's about judgement day, when everyone must pay the piper for the sins they have committed. Which has definite connotations to what Budd is talking about. Brilliant, thoughtful song choice by Tarantino, as usual.

  • Loved Bill's reaction. "You hawked a Hattori Hanzō sword?"

    Budd: "Yep"

    Bill: "It was priceless"

  • When I first saw this, I was like yeah Budd's going to be The Bride's easiest kill he just seems to have fallen big time and funny enough he is the one who came closest to killing her

  • Best scene that has ever been made for anykind of movie. The text, the camera, the acting, the music that comes into play at the end...

    epic epic epic

Its a shame that David Carradine had to die so soon. He should get an award for his work in his lifetime. Michael Madsen should have become an Oscar or so, for his performance...

  • the text is brilliant, and i think Budd's my favorite character, or maybe Elle, their both cool as hell

  • Anybody else think Budd's death was bullshit? Then again, he was the only one that beat The Bride in a way :)

  • -You hooked a hittori hanzo sword?

    -yep

    -It was priceless

-not it El Paso, it ain't!

That women deserves her revenche, and we deserve to die!

    Genius!

  • there's something in Bill's voice, i can't put my fingers on it, some sort of a locking in his expression with ''S'' and ''Sh'', i dunno why but it sounds really cool

  • bill doesnt even blink when budd talks to him toward the end..would have been cool to know the history between bill and budd. Seems like every mentor bill had, wanted him dead (Hanzo makes the sword for Kiddo and Pai mei teaches her his technique)

  • It's faint, but you can definitely hear him say "start being afraid of *Bea*", short for the bride's real name, Beatrix Kiddo.

  • Anyone knows what the music is called at 2:18 to 3:23?

  • @freedyz24 Nora Orlandi's "Dies Irae"

  • @Azlak0507

    many thanks

  • If she wants to fight with me all shes gotta do is come down to the club start some shit and well be in a fight . lmao

  • Mekkora jó már:D igy angolba is :) Nagyon jó film iszonyat jóóó:) Szeretem nagyon :D

  • aye wat is the name of the music that plays towards the end of this scene. is there a extended version.

  • Agreed

  • Um...ArmanSRT...what he said is..."I don't dodge GUILT, and I don't JEW outta payin my come-upin's."

  • "I dont dodge kills, and i dont chew outa payin my come-upin's" amazing line.

  • @ArmanSRT LOL @ what you think he said

  • Willie Budd shows his immense guilt by killing himself with booze all these years since the church horror. When Bill speaks of the "last time we talked" being not so nice, he probably fought fiercely with Budd after the attack about Budd feeling it was wrong and he wanted out. Willie Budd is more like Beatrix than he knows. I truly love his scenes, Madsen makes us believe he is Willie Budd.

  • what's the song's name?

  • "that woman deserves her revenge, and we deserve to die"

    this is Kill Bill.

  • Bill: "You hocked a Hattori Hanzo sword?"

    Budd: "yep"

    Bill: "...it was priceless"

Budd: "(laughing) Well, not on ebay it aint, on ebay I got me $250 'buy it now' for it, with free shipping"

  • bud is my name:) hahhaaa

  • PAI MEI IS FUNNY HES COOL !

  • @TheTuber217 Indeed

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE ITS CALM AND EXPLAINS MANY THINGS THE FIGHT SCENE WITH ELLE IS BADD ASS !

  • Bill: "Do you still have your sword?"

Budd: "No, I pawned that years ago."

Bill: "You hocked a Hatori Hanzo sword?"

    Budd: "Yep."

    Bill: "It was priceless."

Budd: "Well, not in Al Passo it ain't. In Al Passo I got it for 250 dollars for it."

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 it's El Paso

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 El Paso.

  • going by the expression of david carridine when madsen speaks hes like " god this madsen fella can act"

  • best scene of series

  • mr blonde! :D

  • My favourite scene in the entire saga. I loved how in the first movie you're given the impression that Bill is some sadistic, fully evil force. In this one everything is fleshed out, and you discover that the bad guys and the good guys are really ALL closer to being shades of gray, and in fact you actually could sympathize with Bill and Budd a bit more then you could the Bride.

  • @Stigmatainmypants Yup, this was intentional on Quentin's part. It's supposed to be about symbolism in a feminist context. Notice how in Volume 1, we don't see Bill's face, we don't know his identity - he is presented as the omnipotent, omnipowerful patriarch, an indestructable god-like figure. In Volume 2 however, we are finally shown his identity; he is reduced to a mortal man, his power has been stripped away, and he is finally capable of being defeated....continued

  • @Stigmatainmypants ....and when Beatrix kills him, she doesn't use a weapon to do it, but rather her own skills through bodily techniques. This may symbolize the message that Beatrix had it in herself all along to defeat "patriarchy". She, as a woman, is powerful as herself - and does not need to adopt "male" definitions of power (symbolized by the phallic sword) in order to be powerful. Beatrix realizes that power comes from within... and the part where Beatrix evades Bill's

  • @Stigmatainmypants ....thrust of his sword by covering it with the sheathe is supposed to demonstrate the proverbial "vagina defeating penis" symbolism - the woman has finally overpowered the man. And Beatrix uses this new-found power (stemming from herself, her identity as a woman) to defeat the patriarch (symbolized by Bill).

..Or maybe I'm just over-analyzing this, I dunno. I'm high on weed and it's 3am, so I might be seeing things that aren't supposed to be there :/

  • he said '' I dont dodge guilt'' and........... what did he say after that? i kinda didn't get it.

  • @RaikariSpirit

the next time u watch kill bill on dvd put the subtitles on

then youll see what he says.

  • @RaikariSpirit

"i dont jew out of paying my comeuppance" is what he said

    hope it helps

  • @RaikariSpirit

    oh its np

    happy to help out

    thanks for the reply

  • I dont know why but i would to hav wot Bud said to bill as my last words before i die. Dunno why. maybe coz im such a big fan of kill bill I & II

  • Awesome scene!

  • Start being afraid of BEEP.

  • @hedonism13

    beatrix

  • @greenmatrix151023387

    Yeah, I know lol.

  • Both Bill and Budd are the coolest characters on this movie.

Sure, the Bride is the protagonist, but a hero is just as great as the villains he/she faces... and Bill and Budd are just badass!!!

  • Budd reminds me of the Comedian from Watchmen. Both are philosophical and had little regard for human life. I respected them both for this.

  • 1:25. "Yep". Best delivery in the whole scene.

  • Anyone know what the song is that plays during Budd's little monologue about Beatrix's revenge?

  • @paid31 Dies Irae by Nora Orlandi

  • @Kouma013 Your comment should be the top comment for this video forever so more people can discover this piece of awesome music

  • those japs sure know how to hold a grudge. LOL.

  • sucks he didn't even fight in the movie T_T

  • "I have no doubt she will succeed" - funny that Budd was the only one who could defeat her.

  • @kblargh

That's because he was the only one who didn't play fair

  • @paratatruc 'Cause jumping him at his home, that's playing fair.

  • @paratatruc What!? O-Ren had a bunch of body guards to weaken Beatrix, Vernita tried to kill her with a gun hidden in a cereal box, Elle was gonna poison her when she was in her comma (she also hid a snake in Budd's case to kill him), Bill took the first cheap shot when they fought, and Beatrix countered them all (with the exception of Elle, that was Bill's doing). Budd on the other hand predicted her attack and took her out before she could do a thing...he was the only one who DID play fair.

  • can someone help me getting this hat Michael madsen wore there? I rly rly want it :3. some web store or anything?...

  • @Rokbarok

you mean that shit kicker hat?

  • Anyone know the name of the song used as backdrop for this near the end?

  • I think alot of people don't see what the scene was getting at. Don't get me wrong, Budd is a great character to read into, and this is the scene that really brings him into the story. But for me, this scene was like, it really set the tone for the entire movie. And the acting shows so much history between the two brothers.

  • i liked him better as mr. blonde

  • I'd see the scene about Bill and Budd, when they parted ways. If you ask me, Budd got sick of their way of life after El Paso.

  • I think he was the best of DVAS cuz he achivied to get her

  • Budd is even a better person than the Bride.

  • @bbenjoe Of course he is. Everyone is better than the bride. She is a dumb blond, and a liar.

  • it was priceless...

    well not in el paso!

  • Best dialogue in the film.

  • "Them Japs sure know how to hold a grudge don't they? Or maybe... you just bring that out in people."

Budd was my favorite DVAS member.

"So I guess... we'll just see. Won't we?"

  • "dies irae" in latin means "rage days"

i guess it's a perfect song and perfect title put in this situation. great movie

  • Comment removed

  • 'dies irae' by nola orlandi

  • did he just say "i dont jew out of paying my comeuppance" yikes lol.

  • Budd's right, all of them deserve to die including the Bride. He's probably my favourite character for recognising this.

  • @slinkhard84 The bride do not deserve to die, They all beat the fuck out of her, and Bill bust a cap on her head and he just let her think that her baby was dead. she deserves her revenge

  • @the2009guy Yeah, but she killed a lot of people too.

  • @acebunny17 Well, she gotta eat after all, that's her job, LOL, terrible excuse XD

  • budd is the coolest character. in the film.

  • ...i agree, sucks he had to die like he did though

  • @ee345 Yeah man fuckin bullshit they killed him off in a gay way he is epic

  • This has to be one of Michael's most immortal scenes.

  • The music at the end of this scene just goes right through me.

  • Can anyone give me the background song?

  • type. Kill Bill 2 Soundtrack - Dies Irae into youtube (:

  • This was just beyond awesome. I like the fact that 1 character is able to admit to himself, what they did was fucked up and they're gonna get what's coming to them. Michael Madsen is always on his A-game.

  • Black death Vodka!!

  • i guess they thought it sounded cool

  • Great scene, Michael Madsen is an excellent actor, but I still wonder, why is Budd mad at Bill?

  • Nice video, takes a lot of time to upload!!

  • Beatrix Kiddo is the Bride's full character name.

  • Madsen is terrific as Budd. This scene is superb and the dialogue is one of the best of both movies.

  • Let me correct you. Not one of the best. The best! hahahahahahah

  • Best Scene best actor (Michael) best song best dialogue

  • I love how Budd, seemingly the most pathetic and weakest out of the group, is the one who comes the closest to killing the bride. Don't judge a book by it's cover...

Would have loved to see him back in the day!

  • I think that Tarantino said that Budd was the only one Bee wouldnt be able to beat one on one in a sword fight!

  • This is my favorite scene from one of my favorite movies. I am so captivated by all of their performances..

  • man i still believe this was the greatest movie ever made, talented actors, great action, so much emotion, and the music puts it all in place.

    also R.I.P. David

  • I was reading on wikipedia about the characters from kill bill and it said micheal madsens character was a "degenerate". I thought that was a bit harsh. While he undoubtly could be cruel he gave warning to kiddo and did not spray mace into her eyes. He really seemed to be the only one with a concise(however you spell it)

  • Totally agree. I also think Budd is deeply studied and most interesting among others. Many clues point out he's not harsh in any way, rather pathetic, and as you point out, show more remorse than others.

    RIP David

  • @wisefly most sympathetic among the snakes. he self exiled himself into misery by working at a titty bar working for a jackass and clearning shit water when he could wipe out everyone in that club.

  • RIP David Caradine

  • RIP David, say hello to Bruce in kung fu heaven for me yeah?

  • Why did he kill himself?

  • It now looks like suicide has been ruled out.

  • I believe Budd would've putten up quite a fight for Kiddo if that snake didn't kill him.

  • Yeah, espically if he keapt up with his sword play! Would to have loved to see BUD-STLYE sword play!

  • What a piece of shit bud is! Love him, "Not in El Paso it ain't"!

  • Budd lied. He still had that sword hidden away in his room; he only said it to appear that he didn't care about his brother, when in reality Budd still loved Bill very much. Budd's last words to Beatrix as he prepared to bury her alive were "This is for breaking my brother's heart".

I liked Budd; out of all the characters in the film, he was the most philosophical and the only one apart from Bill to acknowledge that they had indeed done terrible things to Beatrix.

  • Well said.

  • I think he's also a fairly sympathetic character. He's one character that I really didn't want to see die, and one that I didn't really think deserved to die. If Beatrix had just left him, he would've stayed in his self-imposed exile.

  • Agree with you.

  • @Sangrenegra9

He didn't lie. The sword Beatrix found while fighting Elle clearly said something like "to Bud, from Bill". That would never be engraved in a Hanso sword. Beatrix just bluffed hoping Elle would believe the sword was a real Hanso

  • @stingervideo wtf? lmao, no way man! you're makin up conspiration theories here. It is clearly a Hanso sword.

  • @Sangrenegra9 Indeed. Even though he is one of the less action packed characters in the story he is one the wisest and deepest philosophically. He does not want Bill to worry about him because he knows that whether he lives or dies he has to face the consequences of his actions.

  • @Sangrenegra9

I completely agree. madsen did a great job with the character.

  • @Sangrenegra9 The most sympathetic out of the squad. You could tell how he takes so much shit from bar owner when he could easily snap his neck.

    Elle is simply pure evil.
