  • Big Thanks for this rare recording!!!!

  • Very fine playing. I appreciate how light and airy they make this complex and densely written movement. Too much to ask to ever find mvts. 2 and 3 I suppose.

  • I have a recording of this on one of my Edison records.

  • I assume Szigeti is playing the first part?

In that case, I prefer Flesch's playing! It's richer, warmer, deeper and has more flesh! (sorry...)

Although splendid, the tones of these 2 greats do not blend as well as the Menuhin/Enesco upload here on YouTube.

Never heard Flesch play before. A thousand and one thanks to you for this transformingArt.

  • @ipmoic : I have extraordinary and rare Edison Diamond Discs by Carl Flesch,Albert Spalding,Vasa Prihoda: My mother is the soprano,Mary Simmons. I have a lif-long passion for these great performers on 78s and Edison Discs. I have over 45,000 78s and Edison Diamond Discs, acetates, transcription discs,Pathes,Mono LPs in my collection. I'm a private record collector in Toronto. I have found a method of transfering these 78s and Edison discs to CDs with great success

  • gems from the masters - indded. just as the label on the LP states

  • this is a treasure.

  • From the tone and style, I'd say Szigeti is playing the first violin, and Flesch the second.

  • Haha! Great! Who is the first one to play here? (the one who sounds like he's dancing.) Let me guess. It's Carl Flesch!

  • Beautiful!

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • Two great violonist, They had a game very precise. Two genius of the violin technical!
