Consider yourself lucky to even have this set I've been chasing after this set for almost a decade but don't have the money for it. It's my dream to get this, partly because I still cannot for the life of me figure out how that 6-speed transmission works.
@audir1thenewone I don't think I can really describe it. There are lots of pieces in the gearbox that are purpose built for the kit. Your best bet is to try and buy a gearbox on ebay.
im just shooting this out there, i want to make my 8070 car all wheel drive but i am having trouble getting the steering, drive shafts and suspension all to work, any tips or instructions i can use to make this happen?
@Hortu9099 dont be disheartened by this, its a kit direct from Lego not one of my own creations. The only things I have made that aren't lego kits is the house on my lego town, oh and also a small lego Transit van and a lego Plymouth fury from the film Christine. But there only small. My brother created a lego Jonny 5 from short circuit. But most of my lego is built from kits.
@eriktheg500 the car from standard didn't come with the motor..... but underneath lego left space for one to be fitted. Its even shown in the instructions somewhere
@eriktheg500 sorry late reply, you can pick the motors up pretty cheap on ebay. you'll also need a certain size cog depending on which type of cog is on the engine.
All the new Lego's really suck now. This car will always be their crowning achievement. I own this beauty and a Ferrari 599 GTB set, which is pure rubbish. No gear box, no suspension, and no real steering. Lego is going backwards with it's details.
@MrMoterKid yer it is pretty cool, it would be even cooler if i didn't burn my lego motor out on an experimental lego 2 stroke strimmer engine i made :(
@MrMoterKid you threw it out :( lego is worth a fair bit of money, this set cost me nearly £100 and i have seen lots of lego sell for a few hundred pound
