@cmiller8492 Not entirely true, Britain had jet engine technology before Germany but the RAF disregarded it because they were obsessed with over-rating Spitfires. Also, Britain had superior implementation of radar technology, among other things. The two pivotal reasons why Germany lost were the lack of resources and the loss of air superiority to the Allies - all were as a result of fighting three superpowers, like you say. Lots of respect to Germany, it was even winning in 1942.

Although your correct about the Jet engine, I hardly think the Spitfire was over rated. It virtually won the Battle of Britain, and even many of the older Messerschmitt, pilots admitted, it was the better aircraft, due to cockpit visability, which the German pilots didn't have behind them.
@Warflicks Air superiority wasn't really lost after the BofB for Germany. This happened when the Luftwaffe was becoming increasingly redundant through attrition in the late 1942/43 and that allowed for the the ease of the Allied bombing offensive that crippled resource transportation etc. Correct, the Spitfire was not over-rated in the BofB. I was more referring to the RAF's stance which was of literally thinking that nothing could ever best it, when obviously a jet engined aircraft would have.
@GraviticWar Germany never recovered after the Battle of Britain, and was never the formidable fighting force it was beforehand, and with that, the rest of its airforce was too busy in Russia, and that certainly decimated what they had left. When D-Day took place, the allies didn't have to worry about any German airforce. The ME262's were too few and too late, by the end of the war, and yes, Germany was bombed into defeat. Yes, Germanys survival relied on imports, especially oil.
@Warflicks Actually, its interesting that Berlin was only targetted after London was bombed during a night attack in error. The British responded by bombing Berlin. Hitler then approved the bombing of London, and one pilot was certainly left off the hook for that error :) You know your stuff about the Jet engines being first a british invention, I believe there was a documentry of it also. I have a large collection of books handed down on the war, and its taking years to read them.

Importantly, the Soviets didn't allow the Nazi's to conduct this kind of warfare by the way that the Soviets won numerous campaigns in 1941 that halted the Germans largely and then they further defeating their ability to conduct offensive warfare in 1942-43, this all subsequently led to the events of 1944 that eventualy stopped the Germans outright.

@cmiller8492 Not entirely true, Britain had jet engine technology before Germany but the RAF disregarded it because they were obsessed with over-rating Spitfires. Also, Britain had superior implementation of radar technology, among other things. The two pivotal reasons why Germany lost were the lack of resources and the loss of air superiority to the Allies - all were as a result of fighting three superpowers, like you say. Lots of respect to Germany, it was even winning in 1942.

@GraviticWar The loss of air superiority was after the Germans lost in the Battle of Britain back in 1940, before the Americans arrived in the war, although there were a few volunteers as pilots. Although your correct about the Jet engine, I hardly think the Spitfire was over rated. It virtually won the Battle of Britain, and even many of the older Messerschmitt, pilots admitted, it was the better aircraft, due to cockpit visability, which the German pilots didn't have behind them.

@Warflicks Air superiority wasn't really lost after the BofB for Germany. This happened when the Luftwaffe was becoming increasingly redundant through attrition in the late 1942/43 and that allowed for the the ease of the Allied bombing offensive that crippled resource transportation etc. Correct, the Spitfire was not over-rated in the BofB. I was more referring to the RAF's stance which was of literally thinking that nothing could ever best it, when obviously a jet engined aircraft would have.

@GraviticWar Germany never recovered after the Battle of Britain, and was never the formidable fighting force it was beforehand, and with that, the rest of its airforce was too busy in Russia, and that certainly decimated what they had left. When D-Day took place, the allies didn't have to worry about any German airforce. The ME262's were too few and too late, by the end of the war, and yes, Germany was bombed into defeat. Yes, Germanys survival relied on imports, especially oil.

@Warflicks Actually, its interesting that Berlin was only targetted after London was bombed during a night attack in error. The British responded by bombing Berlin. Hitler then approved the bombing of London, and one pilot was certainly left off the hook for that error :) You know your stuff about the Jet engines being first a british invention, I believe there was a documentry of it also. I have a large collection of books handed down on the war, and its taking years to read them.

I've researched in-to the whole Jet thing somewhat, I know Ohain had advances in some areas that Wittle did not and vice-versa. I have seen some documentaries on Wittle and also von Ohain they weren't that bad. Books are best! On the BofB argument you were making before, you are right in some respects, I was reading up, the Luftwaffe were certainly dealt a massive blow in-terms of n. of planes lost.

@GraviticWar A excellent war film on this topic is Battle of Britain back in 1969; it showed the bombers being covered by German fighters, but over some regions the fighters could only travel so far in order to return, and the Heinkel bombers were not heavy on arms to protect themselves, and with Britain having radar,they had early warning, and could quickly refuel their fighters.During D-day they dropped tinfoil near Calais, to fool the Germans on thinking that was the air assault.

The defeat of Germany on the Eastern-front was the result of attrition warfare and that is importantly an entire process and not a single-event and this is what saw Germany fail in the grand scheme of things, not any particular single-event. Notably, the Germans could not win the Eastern-front by a war of attrition and they never planned to do so, the Nazi's set out to win by utilizing their certain superiority advantages and not quantitative ones.

Importantly, the Soviets didn't allow the Nazi's to conduct this kind of warfare by the way that the Soviets won numerous campaigns in 1941 that halted the Germans largely and then they further defeating their ability to conduct offensive warfare in 1942-43, this all subsequently led to the events of 1944 that eventualy stopped the Germans outright.

I know many ex-Soviets that say that they prefer it in the old motherland. Infact probably 80% of Russians and other ex-Sovet republicans i know prefer it. The west are scared of Communism because they know the impact that it can have and how the working class people can destroy a government. But on your side, i agree that the west have made Nazism out to be a lot worse than it is (im not talking about the Jewish Genocide because i dont believe thats Nazistic) But its not AS BAD as said

They were piss-poor, but there was a kind of social stability and safety. Now they remained piss-poor,while ex-Communist Party members (mostly Jewish), who were close to the fire got filthy rich, and social safety is gone forever. People had the highest expectations from "freedom", expecting getting better off day-by-day, and it did not happen.
But workers and peasants were the most oppressed during Communism!!

If you wanna know what Communist life was, I suggest that-after you finished Das Kapital from Marx and the collected works of Engels, Lenin, and Stalin-read also the Gulag Archipelago from Solzhenitsyn! Or The Revolt of the Mind from Aczél-Méray.

Your country was of the ALLIES in WW2, while my country was of the AXIS in WW2!

I am not taking my countries side because my country is anti-communist. And infact after the Germans/Austrians, Hitler even said that he loved the British people and he wanted to be allies. Even some of our royal family wanted to join his side.

I believe that i am somewhere between Communism and Stalinism but i also believe in somethings from the right wing. Stalinism is very similar to your points of view. But i would say im mixed. But my most important view is my Catholic faith.
We need a balence!
North Korea isnt Communist its a false identity they use it to conver up.

You may say N.K. is not Communist, but so far in history all tries at having a go at Communism failed and resulted in poverty and mass-murder. What makes you think a next try would be any better?

For my age I am a lot more into politics than most of my friends (i am not a nerd and infact i am in one of the "popular groups" lol"
I looked around me and saw the world is crumbling away as a result of Liberalism and i knew it had to stop. I believe in a version of Communism where there is still a group of more senior leadership but we need the people to be relitavly equal. But there are also a few right wing tactics i agree with. I'd like an improved Soviet Union style state
