To be honest, as awesome as John DiMaggio was as ol' Gilgamesh in FFXII, I don't think his style would have been quite as effective for Dissidia. John's Gilgamesh was a lot more breathy and comically serious in his delivery, while Keith Szarabajka had to look up the surname...) was hammy in a way that fitted him in this context; as the braggart who waxes lyrical about his exploits.

I think our hopes for the FFXII Gilgamesh is never to be fulfilled. In Japan, the orig. seiyuu of Gilgamesh died a year ago (R.I.P.Daisuke Gori). In the West, John Di'Maggio got replaced by, well the VA for Harbinger of ME2. And lastly, Gilgamesh's official 4th costume will be his FFType-0 look (NB: a spoiler giveaway DLC)which is only given to the participants of official DDFF tournament.

So, no FFXII Gilgamesh. Sad.

It's such an epic fail, not only is it the only EX Burst that includes NON-critical hits, but the opponent doesn't even flinch when the 1-damage attack hits him.

I don't know whats the problem with his voice. It isn't his FFXII one, but it's a good one. Also, Gilgamesh doesn't look like his FFXII version (although I think his fourth costume will be this look), so he will have another voice (try to imaginate Alleyway Jack (Gilgameshs FFIX version) with his FFXII voice. Not very fitting).

@mamatamba2 No, no, no. His Japanese ffXII voice actor died. His English one is alive and fine. John DiMaggio, a.k.a. Bender in Futurama, voiced Gilgy in FFXII (and entertainingly Wakka from FFX, who Gilgy's new Japanese VA also voiced in Japanese.)
