  • Sad to see our hard earned taxpayer money funding this circus show.

    Ron Paul 2012 !

  • @jessie74 You're really not too bright, are you?

  • @McStanky1

Please explain how this circus show is keeping our Country safe.

Please convince me that this is a useful expenditure of our tax dollars.

  • @jessie74 How does this cost tax dollars? People pay to see this. It raises money. This displays discipline and uniformity, so it's kind of like an advertisement in a way. Them learning the drill teaches discipline and it teaches them to handle their weapon a lot better.

  • Do they ever go to other countrys and perform?

  • After being in my Naval Junior ROTC Unit for two years in high school, We've only got down the very first 25 seconds down of this routine. It can be done, I think this will help us win our next Drill Meet. Like if you think so!

  • yea buddy its all about the marines corp

  • I love the part where they spank their asses =)

  • this is tight

im thinkinkinq about doinq some of this for our drill team this is dope!!!

  • Im sorry but whats the point of joining if your going to have this job?

  • @mckinley1175 Its a B-Billet which is usually a 2 year thing. They have there original MOS, they just do this for a couple years to look good on promotions. Also the Silent Drill Platoon is one of the most prestigious jobs, anyone who got selected for it should be extremely honored.

  • how to march in the us army: just walk

  • OHH F#$%ING RAH!!!!

  • Best US drill i've seen yet, but i think British drill is still that bit better

  • @callum1131 ive seen the british and they r good but the us marines silent drill is way better. different opinions. I watched a video bout silent drills and they say that the us marines r the best in the world. Just saying

  • @heimuli360 Fair comment, but British drill just looks better and more together, whereas US drill with all their rifle throwing doesnt look very good and organised which is exactly what drill should be.

  • he's talking about americans in general, didn't you learn anything in school

  • For people saying this is no way to handle a rifle the rifles they use usually have no bolt and have barrels plugged are army cadet drill rifles the barrels are welded shut so there's no way they can fire

  • @411lee Asides the fact they DO have bolts, and one can see them, what would be the safety point of taking the bolt away after the barrel has been plugged or welded? Is that part of "military wisdom"?

  • this is no way to handle a weapon, no wonder the majority of people in the states dont take firearms seriously

  • @RamRam956 by that do you mean that they are handling it like its a broomstick ?? because those guns will not go off i do belive that they are on safe lock ... and yes it is true many people do not take firearms seriously.

  • @RamRam956 Let's see you do it!! Do you realize how many hours they spend training? They are awsome. Also they are using fully funtional rifles. We have our own drill team in the USCG. Not as good looking in uniform, however we have one. Besides most firearm injuries happen due to the lake of knowlage of the weapon.

  • @quincey123 I couldn't care less to be able to do it... I'd prefer not to be transformed into an automated, nopn-thinking puppet., The "lake"??!!! Which one of the Great Lakes, or of the "Finger Lakes"??!!!

  • @Gheorgyi that would be lack of knowlage, it was a typo dumbass!!!!

  • Not bad as an act of puppetry.

  • i would like to see a clip on the movement of the rifles broke down step by step

  • can you imagine the amount of training that goes into making a display like this? amazing!

  • @nextlifearotti Yeah, a lot of it... a waste of time & money. Those youngsters still have to be fed, clothed, lodged and kept while they play at this puppetry pap.

  • @nextlifearotti yeah i know my rotc unit is attempting to recreate the first few minuets of this routine

  • the most amazing and beautefull thing i have ever seen i pine for the old ways

  • uu rah

  • Over the years, I have developed a deep respect for the USMC, as well as our other Armed Forces. Did you know that only 1% of our entire population consists of those men and women currently in our combined armed forces? Let's pray that they come home safely to their families and friends. For those of you who hate war, I'm among you, but we still have to stand by this country we live in and keep in mind these men and women are there to keep the bell of freedom ringing. Don't cross me!!!

  • @goldenstarpcfl Friend, you might not believe me in consideration of everything I've expressed about this USMC Silent Drill Platoon in the comments to another video of this klind - but I totally agree with you in your prayers and attitude about this. Let's just not mix up combat prowess with the capacity to act like rifle.spinning marjorette automatons. Gheorghij .

  • @Gheorgyi Thank you for your kind and considerate response. I have 2 sons (20 & 21 yrs old) who were in the MCJROTC throughout their 4 years of high school. It taught them discipline, teamwork and self-respect. Of course, I don't want to see them having to go off to a strange land and fight in a war where it seems no peaceful end will result. They're all I have left in my life that's dear to me.

  • SteeAsp ~ yes, there IS an award for this. it's called PRIDE. pride in your country, her citizens, her military, and oneself. what a great award that few can really truly receive!

  • I saw the Silent Drill Team in Washington DC it was very impressive. Anyone not appreciating these men and the work they did to preform this has no clue what it takes, You drop something and you are out. Highest Praise for our Militar

  • My dad used to be on the silent drill team here CWO3 Branch

  • It was a troll comment

  • @Reggis420

    yes it does

its something called discipline and physical/mental strength.

now why dont you go enlist in the marine corps so the drill instructor can shove his boot inside of your sarcastic ass

  • @cheng2012 Hahahahaha.

  • Michealchall: You are a fool! You degrade yourself and your country! If you have courage go to dundalk and shout what you have written in the main square there! see if you come home again; and good if you didn't!

  • Aw im not surprised as your a Yank

  • Why did the US military try to save wounded Taliban fighters by bringing them to a medical center? Why is it official policy to treat all wounded from American operations?

The Taliban does not do this.

  • @thaIrishLad

And yet you operate as an armchair warrior for the Taliban. Why not head over there and support your brethren?

  • "armchair warrior" wdf ye on about ye creep

  • shut up faggot go chase some leprechauns you drunken bastard

  • lmao.. class American comeback

  • classic fag. eat shit and die

  • @OlderG0ds you really need to get a life kid..your calling names over the internet lol

  • get a life kid? class comeback! especially from some piece of shit who is the first one to talk shit over the internet

  • @OlderG0ds "eat shit and die" lol your prob a stupid yank lol

  • @PTurchan1 It's part of something called "the Geneva Convention", that the USA adhered to and signed with other nations. It's a principle armed forces of civilized countries abide by, uncivilized barbarians like the talibans don't.. On the contrary, they delect in torturing. Doctors and other health personnelò (at least those of Western countries) who've worked in military field hospitals during wartime know it very well.

  • @Gheorgyi

I was just arguing with someone who was contending that American forces are more amoral than the Taliban and/or Al-Qaeda.

  • @Gheorgyi agreed. I have been a Paramedic and Coroner for several years. I have seen more than I care too.

  • lol all that training just to get owned by the Taliban...

  • @thaIrishLad

No. The Marine Corps has recently kicked the Taliban out of Marja.

  • Really? Seen the news last night and it said "heavy fighting" sooo.. Wonder how many innocents the terrorist Marines have murdered? And i wouldnt be so shocked if they did kick them out after all you cowards use planes and tanks etc

  • @thaIrishLad

I know that there were civilian casualties, which is an unfortunate reality when you are fighting in densely populated areas. Using plane and tanks is not being cowardly, it is being strategic - wouldn't the Taliban use them if they had them?

You also failed to explain how the Taliban is waging a more successful campaign: what is their killed/dead ratio?

  • You call the Taliban cowards your cowards aswell using them. Well nobody knows for sure how many they have lost. In every attack you's do you's kill innocent people (wouldnt expect anything else from terrorists anyway) anyway example Vietnam War..Look at the K/D ratio and who won? America is for shit.

  • I never called them cowards.

We can estimate deaths on both sides.

    What is a "you's?"

Terrorists intentionally target civilians, the military does not. If someone in the military intentionally harms a civilian, they will be charged.

Why did the US military try to save wounded Taliban fighters by bringing them to a medical center? Why is it official policy to treat all wounded from American operations?

The Taliban does not do this.

  • Wdf ye on about what is a you's?

  • It's not a word I've ever encountered.

  • @thaIrishLad The ami's call it "collateral damage". But man, in a war everybody uses what he's got available, isn't that so?

  • @Gheorgyi Still cowards tho.. If you didnt use that you wouldnt kill innocent people and they would just kick your fat ass

  • @thaIrishLad

    Shut up bitch

  • @thaIrishLad Can you be a little clearer about what this comment of yours refers or answers to? Who is a "coward"?

  • @Gheorgyi Learn to read then...stupid yank

  • @thaIrishLad You are calling me "yank"??!!! as in !american"??!!!! Kidd-o, you are either ganz meschugganah, or sozzled. Most likely, though, you are a congenital oligophrenic..

  • this is so cool i wish i could do this! im in Leadership Development Corps or LDC i can flip the rifle cuz im on drill team but i cant do this its way to hard. ima try tho lol!! XD

  • i still got 4 years till i enlist

    semper fi

  • Marchers are fucking Douche bags. And

Fuck 8th and I worst time of my life

  • @skoalbaby101 no DC love huh?

  • oh yea? well.these " Douch bags" uphold the legendary legacy of the ll United States Marine Corp. so WATCH YOU MOUTH ASS HOLE.

  • y would u want to do this for 2 yrs straight. its cool but not for me, i'm infantry through and through, fallujah 2005-2006 and kabul 2008-2009!!! there are two types of marines, a marine and a true marine. true marines are those tested in battle!!! oohrahh

  • I have never heard another ever say that about their fellow Marines. Quite disappointing to read from someone who claims to have earned the title...

  • I'm not disrespecting them or anything. i think they're pretty cool and the best drill team ever like ever. its just for me i couldn't do that for 2 yrs. i'm not a ceremonial type of guy. i didn't join the marines to look pretty or do drill. i joined to serve my country by serving in combat. props to them though. i hear that they do have it tough b/c when u first start out its boot all over again

  • I was referring to the "two types of Marines" comment. Say what you want on base, but leave it there.

    Semper Fi.

  • @numyej You know...I am not saying you would not know or anything...but to be in the Silent Drill Platoon..you have to be infantry...so technically...they are set to fight

  • @synysterlud Actually you don"t have to be an 03-anything to be in the Silent Drill Platoon. You have to meet their stringent height/weight standards for uniformities sake. Other than that you only need to be a Marine.

  • @999ludcs72 I will find out about this cause I asked a Drill Team member and he said you do have to meet the height/weight standards and you have to be an 03..so im not sure...ill ask my recruiter and get back with the info. I am not saying your all wrong and stuff, but I like to have everything correct

  • detailes? company? ya know, 1st marines, 6th marines?

  • They are not in the Fleet Marine Force while they are in the Silent Drill Team. They still train like every other infantry platoon on top of the exhaustive drill training, but while they are there they are assigned to Marine Barracks, 8th and I, Washington, D.C. under the overarching Headquarters, Marine Corps. It's like the Marine Band, they aren't attached to any specific combat unit because they represent and support the entire Marine Corps.

  • no, i wasnt talking about the silent drill platoon : P thanx for all the well placed info tho lol. it was a comment towards a person dissing them on here,

  • @numyej That sucks you think there are only 2 kinds of Marines man. Well I will let you tell that to the numerous Marines I have pulled out of some ugly situations who shook my hand and thanked me for being "the man in the window" If you dont know what that means then I gues you havent been as tried as you think you have. Yes I swing with the wing man. Aircrew

  • It´s very fantastic!!!I´d like to become one of you. God bless you.

  • hey unameitwemak can u spell?

  • Of course they can, they are Marines, and no matter what the specialty, we are all basic Marines.

  • @UnAmEiTwEmAkEiTFILMS run out on that drill field while they are performing and u will see

  • These guys are amazing.

  • It is a fact I have watched USMC SDP (Silent Drill Plaoon) videos for the 29th time and this shit never gets old. Ooo fukin rahh keep killin and keep winnin. Semper Fidelis; Semper fi Do or Die

  • Let's get these guys on America's Got Talent!!! God Bless Our Troops!

  • crazy...amzing!

  • fthe cold war, the arms race, and race to space is what got the USSR they couldnt compete with us

  • Afghanistan did not bankrupt the USSR. Socialism and big government waste and corruption bankrupted the USSR.

  • Right. One war didn't ruin that nation, one ideology did.

  • @acchichi1 A way too familiar path huh?

  • that is cool and really silent

  • Gah! You people and your controversies! C : I think that the dedication, the precision, and the skill of these people is amazing. Everyone, and I mean everyone, should have respect for these people.

  • Arent guns for shooting?

  • well the Marines are so devoted to their weapons... they needed something to do with their free time

  • im in rotc and with commands is a little challenging but they makke that look easy

  • Semper Fi! Very impressive! :)

  • very well done, dont like the way they slap thier arses

  • They are slapping the side of their legs.

  • The comments on this page are very funny... if you think about it....basically you guys are like saying to protect against nuclear weapons we should have a nuclear weapon so just in case they do launch it...we can destroy them as well....think about it for a bit...

  • that's called Mutually assured destruction. and it kept us safe against the Soviets. who had 20000 missiles pointed at us... dirty looks and harsh words don't stop missiles. only the assurance that you will die as well if you pull the trigger

  • Yeah, M.A.D. was its acronym. And it collapsed the Soviet economy shortly before collapsing yours! Feel like you won???

  • YES, I feel we won - 1st.

Our continued reckless spending after they collapsed on socialist and unneeded military programs and unconstitutional wars funded by fiat money controlled by the Fed is the reason for this crisis.

  • I would largely agree with you except I would see it as a matter of, rather than socialist or capitalist programs, centrally-planned war economies of either complexion. Make war no more...

  • The Soviet Unions was in Afghanistan is what collapsed their economy. Which is partially why I do not support our continued operations in that country. Further more the Soviet Union recently said they would allow the US military to use their airspace for resupply missions in Afghanistan. It was praised as a major breakthrough... I suspect the Soviets know in doing so they were helping us destroy ourselves, economically anyway.

  • They no longer are called the Soviets, after Afghanistan bankrupted the USSR, they changed its name. Which is what will happen to USA, if your parallelism is correct.

  • As I said "The Soviet Union was in Afghanistan"... nothing about what they are called today, "spanky."

  • You type like a uneducated fuck so i dont even know why i even bother arguing with a fucking idiot like you. You trying to say you made the p90.....LMFAO and your trying to say we would lose iraq if the gun wasent invented. Im sorry we have better guns. Mp5,M16,M4,all sorts of guns to kill terriorst and faggots like you. You think your all that come fuck with America big boy. Will send the boy scouts to come fuck your pussy country up.

  • the p90 is from belgeum

  • Foley you are a fucking moron. First off its Special Air Service so get it right if you 're trying to act liek you know their trainning(WHICH YOU DONT) Maybe American troops are friendly to you cuase they already know you bad mouth them once your out of sight. And no they do not have better equipement everyone knows Americans have the best. What people think British have better is their trainning. Most brits agree we have better equipment, they tend to think they have better trainning.

  • I think both brits and yanks kick arse. Foley shouldn't slam the yanks.

  • saying that though i do think this drill team is excellent i saw them at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo several years ago and would love to see them back

  • Sorry this gets kinda bring after the first minute, Im going to have to leave.

  • UN TAN UN TAN UN TAN MOE MOE KYUN

  • I don't think that precision marching, drilling or dancing (as in the case of the Russians) are things that the american military excel in. We might be too wet behind the ears !

  • someone lied to you tgc1600

  • Really? Post a vid and we'll see.

    Fixed bayonets please.

  • So are the Chinese and Russians. Americans are ok, but the these other nationalities have awesome drills.

  • Fuck the brits

three words for you: The Revolutionary War

  • yet the brits drills are still better

  • even if they are.

lets compare drills to kills: oops we win

  • win what?

  • nothing lmao there power tripping americans

  • Drills to kills? Are you supporting the yanks by any chance? Can I remind you of how many of the Brits the US army killed recently? A rather significant number, so whats the the point learning to do funny drill tricks with a rifle if you can't shot it properly!

  • There is a video of the yank marines doing a friendly course against the Chinese equilivant. Needles to say the chinese beat them hands down. American's think their Marines are superheros! Yet without their technology they would be so lost

  • got to admit yes the brittish are better i'm from beglium and i'm a re-enactor id do brittish SAS (special air force) and 10° commandos they are way more disiplined (or hell how you need to write it :p) and way more friendly then americans better equipment , weapens etc etc etc

so amerika might be good but still brittish are better ^^ and if the americans didnt have de P90 assault sub machine gun wich i made in belgium :p they would lose everything they are now in irak for what ? NOTHING

  • foleydeman should i say foleycatheter, get your facts mite.

  • my facts are true .......

  • Americans dont use the p90 retard

  • Yea they do.

  • You formed this consensus based on knowing exactly how many American commando troops?

    How many British?

The P90 could be replaced by any number of guns and in fact has a very limited function as a military weapon.

  • sorry mate have you burned down 10 downing st like we burned down the white house i think not, look at the war of 1812 mate.

  • yeah but somehow we still won that war

oh well that dosent matter. we're allies now, right?

  • Go to boot camp and then we'll talk.

I'm not a massive fan of America. But i do respect their military.

  • YOO this is better than #### STEP UP shit

they need to make movie about this :D

  • Sums up our military.... AWESOME!!!!

  • thats what she said

  • I saw these guys do this at the Edinburgh Tatoo not once but twice I think around the late 60s early 70s I am so pleased to find this video. GO MARINES!

  • OHH RAH TO USMC DRILL PLATOON!

  • what i love about the USMC silent drill platoon is that theres really not that much hardcore spinning, its the precision that just blows me away. amazing

  • did they still have the bayonettes on their rifles when they did the statue of liberty?

  • Awesome!

  • Comment removed

  • this is insane! winter guard comes nothing close to this, i'd be in awe if I even learned 1/3 of this!!!

  • wow...funny when disscussion gets completely off topic of the video

  • Hoorah! We salute you guys. Marine Dad.

  • "Silent" means no verbal commands. Their full routine is approx 10min long.

  • silent*

  • slient drill?

  • This is so awesome.

My best friend is joining the marines in June and my other really good friend just graduated boot camp and Im so proud of both of them but I miss them so much and always will!

  • AWESOME GO MARINES OOH-RAH

  • The Marines RULE!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Hey Look At This March. Its From Malaysian Navy.

    Kawad Senyap

  • If you are a marine that would explain your lack of mastery of the English language, sorry there grunt, I was being sarcastic if you didn't understand. If you have seen them multiple times you'd understand how amazing they are...

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but the Queen's Colour Squadron is not silent drill. And why do you brits feel the need to constantly measure pricks? Can't you just enjoy a US military video without mouthing off about your own military? I'm pretty sure you couldn't do this drill, so why not give them the benefit of the doubt? And your sentence has several run ons and fragments. Not what I'd expect from someone with a self proclaimed mastery of the English language.

  • Ironic that people feel the need to thump chests over the British Army, particularly given the Economist piece a couple of weeks ago that described the Britain as losing its nerve militarily.

  • They might have been able to thump their chests 20 years ago, but not so much to day. Your average US unit is considerably better funded and has so much more experience than your average British unit that any comparison that is favorable to the British is downright laughable. The Royal Navy's capabilities have been halved, and the RAF would rather spend billions on Eurofighters they can't afford then give their pilots proper training for CAS.

  • Please give me a quote and tell me where I proclaimed myself to be a master of English. The Queen's colour squadron is silent drill, beside the command to quick march it is silent.

  • "If you are a marine that would explain your lack of mastery of the English language" ....And the Queen's Color squadron drills to music. So I wouldn't exactly call that silent.

  • the marines slap their rifles, hardly silent to me, that quote proves nothing. It does not prove I have a " self proclaimed mastery of the English language. "

Keep trying there, you'll learn to read soon enough,

  • Are you special? Do you not know that when they mean silent drill they mean that not a word of command is uttered or any music played. When engaging in conversation, it helps if you know what the hell you're talking about.
