  • I joined the military for the purpose of flying the f-18 and one day I succeeded, although I was assigned as co-pilot... so - I shot myself.

Now i wish I hadn't after watching this!

  • ITs not the plan acerkiwi, its the pilot. Just like the gun, its not the gun its the man pointing it who makes it dangerous same with this. With out the pilot the plane it only a plane standing still. Okay one mind any weapon Oorahh USMC.

  • @MrDew045 Hey mate the pilot is the jockey. Takes alot of mechanics, technincians, engineers to make the machine ready to fly. Dont get me wrong, i have great respect for the pilots they to are highly skilled.

  • horrible landing at 1:00

  • im black but first black pilot i saw

  • @traydognasty There's white, black, hispanic, asian pilots in the U.S Air Force.

  • I FUCKING WANT ONE!!!

  • GO NAVY

    BEAT ARMY

  • ah god times on the big 68!! almost makes me want to go back out to sea early!

  • beautiful video, f8 is the best

  • where i can get this video in high quality?

  • best video of the F-18 that I saw!

  • what song is that? lol

  • All credit to the pilots, but its the engineers that make this happen!!!

  • @acerkiwi no single person makes it happen, it's like a food chain. It won't work if just one thing is missing

  • @acerkiwi engineers are good, but they cant think like a pilot

  • @beergut111 i think he just means without the engineers our pilots are up the creek without a paddle.

  • @MiscellCollections thats not quite accurate. Engineers can't defend the country like our pilots can.

So, without the pilots, the engineers would be shot.

sorry, but nothing can beat the way the mind of well trained pilot has to function.

  • @beergut111 I"m not saying pilots aren't important, but both rely upon each other. You know how long the pilots' jets would remain air worthy without the constant maintenance the engineers provide? The kinds of pressures the jets must handle would ruin even a Hornet if not cared for after every single flight. Without our engineers, we would never have the jets for our well trained pilots. In that sense, I am correct.

  • @MiscellCollections engineers fuck up a lot.....they dont always think everything through properly.

  • @beergut111 You're getting off topic, humans always fuck up. The point is if you hand a pilot a wrench and tell him to run standard maintenance on his plane him'd probably tell you to ask an engineer because it's not his job to keep his plane running.

  • cool video

  • aaaah, great song, and a piece of technology that makes me feel proud of my country. thank you man.

  • nice vid very epic

  • nice vid

  • navy sucks marines rule

  • @koenigsegg661 fuck you asshole how dare you say that about a branch of our military, the people who are making sure you can write stupid ass comments like that

  • @navalaviator017 I apologize you're right my brothers are marines and I just got carried away.

  • @koenigsegg661 Oh well if your cool about it im sorry,i thought you were one of those people who think they are better than everyone and make trash talk comments.........i just hate it when people think one branch is better than the other........but if its friendly smack talk, which is obviously what you were intending..........im really sorry for freaking out

  • @koenigsegg661

The U.S. Marine Corps is a service branch within The Department of the Navy.

  • This just gets better. Got to love US hardware, baby!

  • don't mess with america.

  • f 16 rules with Paki pilots

  • @miansabahatullah lol was that a joke?

  • @mickster026 u dont beleive!!!??? ok ask ur rulers Israel and also ur alloy India. then they will tell u that what PAki Pilots did with them in 1967 1965 1971 and 1973.

  • @mickster026 it depends on u i depend on my combat history

  • my dad is a f-18 pilot in beaufort south carolina i watch him fly about once a week depends what is going on i really do understand the meaning of the f-18 my dad is training to fly an f-35 though i am gonna miss them flying f-18s more often but i guess what goes up has to hit the ground some time

  • @1987hawkeye congratulations. could you tell me how did your father became pilot? i also want to become f18 pilots ask him dental and other rquirments to enter the naval academy please

  • @eliahu33 he went into the naval accademy and trained for a long time and to get accepted what i would say is get as many recomendations as possible that all i can tell you since im only 14 XD but good luck

  • my dad is a f-18 pilot in beaufort south carolina i watch him fly about once a week depends what is going on i really do understand the meaning of the f-18

  • ONE OF THE BEST FIGHTERS EVER

  • 18's rule.

  • Did u get this video from me??

  • @bminato you got it from him

  • @mickster026 Definitely did not dumass

  • beat army? nice. im airforce.

  • I would love to serve my country. the love of my life is AVIATION. I have always wanted to becomea military pilot, i am attending college to earn my flying degree as we speak. I was going to do AFROTC, but have learned that their pilot slots are as rare as a virgin at Kent State, I hear that Navy and Marines is the most likely chance of obtaining a pilot slot. Any ideas?

  • @gordomarley It's hard in both services right now. With the current state of the economy not many pilots are getting out of either service so it's very competitive either way. The Air Force is pushing heavy for UAV's so even if you got a pilot slot in that service then you would have to worry about getting stuck in the UAV pipeline. And another thing to consider is that in a year or two it may be easier to get a slot in the Air Force or the Navy or both. Don't game the system.

  • @ryank289 Screw that, Navy is harder than USAF to get a commisioning but it's worth it. Navy pilots are by far the best in the world.

  • @skibdattles along with being plumb fuckin crazy, anyone who would land a bird on a runway that short is insane.

  • F-15's are better. Never been beaten in combat so I would assume they are superior

  • what happened in f-15 eagle i thought eagle is a primary jet craft of US navy ?

  • @6digit Thats Airforce

  • @6digit they cant take off from carriers

  • Cool video :3

  • Awesome video! F-18 is the perfect workhorse for the navy. Go Navy!!

  • @sheepgoat64 Awesome video! Charlie Sheen is the perfect workhorse for the navy. Go Navy!!

  • @MXleo1 lol

  • hahaha 2:19

  • have F 16 ever flew from ship? plz some bdy tell me

  • @miansabahatullah lol no F-16 are airforce don't have the hook to land on career but could be launched .

  • @SaberTanker22 They couldn't even be launched, because they have a single-center mounted nosewheel and no launch bar. Even if it did have a launch bar, the catapult would snap the landing gear off because of the wheel itself nailing it on takeoff. It could land, it does have a hook. It would still run the risk of breaking something though.

  • @miansabahatullah They can be made to be launched from a aircraft and land on it. There are many variants of the F-16 fighting falcon!

  • These are going to replace the British Royal Navy's harriers and supplement the JSF and Eurofighter. The Super Hornet is a fantastic piece of American engineering, I'm glad we could be part of it.

  • keren

  • Vietcong33- Please explain your name.

  • The super hornet doesnt seem like the great upgrade it seems to be ive read that the a through d model hornet has better mobility and plus theres nothing the super hornet can do that the original hornet cant and it not as good of an air to air combat fighter as the f-14d super tomcat i bet that if the super tomcat was as easy to maintain as the super hornet that they would be flying instead of these 60 million dollar "super bugs".

  • Australia and Japan want to buy F-22 Raptors. I think we should sell them. The US is selling most of the same technology in to Europe in the F-35 anyway. Keeping the production lines open for the raptor is a good thing.

  • @ieast007 Some say that LM is ready to built a low profile F22, that would be their chance, but i don´t think Australia needs something like a F22, F/A-18s and F35s would be just fine, the case of Japan is different, with China growing fast also in the military and with NKorea disturbing in the neighborhood. But Japan also have a second choice the Eurofighter

  • @Mad69sur we dont need f-22. the only ppl who have them are america, and if we get invaded, theyl help us....... we hope.

  • @alip2310 I´m glad you´re in the mood, you can also call us (Spain) we will send you a local peasant with some stones

  • @Mad69sur thnx bro. im sure th chinese or whoever will be terrified.

  • F22 Has JET Engine Mach 2.25 NOT FASTER THAN RUSSIAN LONG RANGE interceptor MIG 31 Has Top Speed Mach 2.83. with NEW Russian Long Range MISSILE Novator K-100 KNOWN AS designed as an "AWACS killer Range 200km.

  • @MafiaGENGTEAM1970 shut up

  • @MafiaGENGTEAM1970 I love russian fighters too, but shut up, the Mig 31 it´s scrapy business, and speed is not so important today

  • F35 MORE WORST JET ENJINE ONLY MACH Mach 1.67 TO SLOW VS MIG 31 JET ENJINE Mach 2.83.

  • it has weak Jet Engine ONLY Mach 1.8 EVEN Concorde More FASTER MACH 2 THEN F18.

  • GO MARINES !

  • The super Hornet is epic

  • Holy shit look at that landing at 1:01

  • video rating: 10/10

  • 2:20 KICKASS

  • Hey man very cool video. I want to get into making some of my own. What software do you use? Cheers.

  • Whether its over the Sea of Japan, the Atlantic or supporting operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Super Hornet is getting it done everyday!!

  • f-18 super hornet got lock down by s-211 aircraft on the Philippines when they are training

  • where can i learn to fly one i want to go into the airforse

  • @hermitcrabstuff34 its air force my good man

  • @hermitcrabstuff34 how do you expect to go into something when you dont know how to spell it. i want to go into the navy, but you dont see me saying i want to go into the navie...

  • my dad is pilot by the navy. And he say that its very hard to landing on a aircraft landing boat.Is this tue?

  • @mister2657 - If your dad is a 'real pilot' in the navy, wouldnt you take his word if he tells you its hard?. I mean he has landed on a real carrier, and about 3% of the people who have ever watched this video have to so looking here isnt really going to get you an answer except for the people who fly on fsx and they will tell you its really hard... Stick to what he tells you you'l learn alot more from him than you will here...

  • wow, what a hard-on. if i wanted to listen to music i would've typed in music. In this case....i typed in f-18 not a homosexual song where i cant here anything but the damn song.

  • wow, if i wanted to listen to music i would've typed in homosexual music. i typed in f-18 not some homosexual song.

  • I wonder what an ex-figherpilot does for excitement ?

  • This is a super Video

    It's one from the best

  • needs to be a US navy especially to be a part of carrier?

  • Εδώ κρίνονται όλα!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the USN is deadly now...wait til the Super Hornets new friend arrives. then the enemy wont see whats comin...literaly.

  • God bless America :')

i hope to some day become a navy Pilot

  • the same hopes! even if it seems impossible..

but I LOVE these JETS! GO UNITED STATES NAVY! If our country's AirForce got at least ONE F18 I would already serve in there! the only GOD DAMN soviet airforce. WHY WAS I BORN HERE??! I don't belong, GOD DAMN IT!!!

  • @ALEKSANDREXE2 So come to America and join us! Join the U.S. Navy. Have a Bachelor's degree with strength in either science or mathematics? 1.) Become a United States Citizen. 2.) Join the Navy and get a flight trainee slot, finish the training as best you can, and you'll probably get your own fighter. See you on the seas.

  • The music clip is that band?

  • Us australians just bought 24 of theses. (I think 24) and there was alot of debate if it was the right decision.

Our F-111's were to old in my opinion and the super hornets were only a bridge fleet to make way for the new joint strike fighter,

I think the super hornets will be fine- a very verstile jet.

  • Yep they don't give much planes a chance. Imo it will be a perfect plane for the RAAF.

  • @Tomcatsux4ever True dat. It can do it all, air to air, air to ground etc and its not like they are wasted tax payer money- they will be resold when the joint strike fighter is ready.

  • hornet rules

  • Best video on youtube.

  • who is pilot?

  • too awesome!!

  • who of you is pilot?

  • 911 criminals used box cutters ! They had no aircraft carrier !!

  • i wonder if the salt water spray fucks with the planes engins and makes it a rust bucket

  • @jets

that is why aircraft go through wash rack. Its part of its scheduled maintenance.

  • great vid great song of choice

  • great vid!

  • 2:09 another great view

  • F-18, definitely my favorite military aircraft.

  • I wish canada was replacing the hornets with the super rather then the 35s

  • Im Canadian. We wanted 150 f-35s but now are only getting 65 of them so boeing offerd f-18 super hornets to us to fill the gap. I hope we get them.

  • does canada have wars?

  • NORAD

  • @N1cholas240 ignore the idiot below but 150 f035s dam your country is a sercert military power then i think only closet nato coutries ie canada and UK should get the 35

  • @pumkinheadfan i wish the 35 wsnt being shared with the world dam it

  • 1:55 great view

  • Rafale in Brazil air force Brazilian.. (F-18 U.S.A over)

  • I love the F-18...but I also like the Tomcat. Dunno why they retired it. They could have replaced the F-18 A-D's with E-F's and kept the Tomcat.

  • so true, the f-14 was amazing and will always b my favorite jet:] haha

  • @Spjungen Soo true!! I hope the super Hornet gets shot down in combat!

  • Screw that. The F-18C is one of the best aircraft the navy ever had. It flew over 4,500 missions overall and the numbers are continuing to rise, something that the F-14 never did.

  • @Boopertheboop Yup. The F-18C is the multi-role bomber in the US Military. But I prefer the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet

  • @SuperHornetTV why the Electronics varient dude?

  • @Boopertheboop Thats because the Tomcat had a full range radius, but couldnt carry alot of bombs. the hornet was the complete opposite. which the navy wanted

  • it's probably one of the best sounding planes ever too.

  • @Boopertheboop you are rite but you have to remember when the f-14 was in service the us had not much going on with wars we were done for a while other than some bombing runs

  • 2:18 is that real???!!!

  • Well done video....

  • 2:20 is that real lol?

  • Of course. Why not?

  • that.....was.......great,the best.

  • This is best video in YOUTUBE!!

  • You know it's funny, fighter pilots in Australia are lucky if they get to fire one missile over their entire career, but it seems to be a regular occurance in the US Navy!

  • @PRSOV Yes but you see the US navy has a good air force compared to Australian one. We would get our ask kicked If we went up against anyone with an actual air force. We are only now using the F/a 18 super hornets which is an 4th generation fighter jet. The Russians have have 6th generation fights that make the F/A 18 super hornets look like toys.

  • @TheJamesd92 It's our alliances which make us a lot stronger rather than just our individual defence force itself.

  • @TheJamesd92 6th generation????? What does ANYONE have that qualifies as a 6th generation fighter? You might want to recheck your source on that one.

  • @TheJamesd92, 6th generation, Russia just built a fifth generation aircraft, they just got into five generation.

  • @PRSOV Yeah, blue on blue normally.

  • @PRSOV It doesnt matter how many missiles you fire but how much flight time you have as a pilot ......cuz you can fire 100 missiles and not hit anything and the austrailan(or whoever) might just need 1 ....In the end it all comes down to the dogfight though :)

  • Why do fighters always roll as they leave the aircraft carrier, is this some sort of way of increasing speed quicker?

  • What do you mean by roll? The pitch and turn away from the carrier, but never roll. Especially on takeoff/launch. If a pilot tried to roll on launch, he would certainly hit the ground.

  • Once the aircraft leaves the deck of the carrier the roll usually to the left and then pitch up to climb, it's so common you will see it in nearly all carrier take-offs!

  • They need to position away from (a) the carrier and (b) the next ensuing launch from directly behind.

  • ah cheers, makes sense now!

  • Excellent video. Good music choice.

  • go navy beat army

  • hey man, chill out,we all fight together and die together,we all fight for the same cause

  • This is mainly meant in terms of Football. They are big rivals.

  • Sick

  • i thinks this is the most capable strike fighter in the world (atm lol )

  • Yer, know what u mean but take away the 5th gen and euro thn u've got something special :-)

  • F22 is not a strike fighter, it's a air superiority fighter/ interceptor.

  • I want to do that some day!!!!

  • F-14 Tomcat is the best !!!

  • @okok810 im not surprised you got alot of thumbs down

  • ??????????

  • @okok810 You said the Tomcat is better than the Super Hornet. I object.

  • then you prove please ^^

    carry more bombs ? etc......?

  • @okok810 Yup. The super hornet is capable of carrying 10+ bombs unlike the Tomcats 6 bombs. the only problem with the super hornet is the range and speed. so anyways, the super hornet is practically better than the tomcat in so many ways.

  • @Super

I think many of you have no idea what these planes were designed for. F-18 was a multi role fighter that competed with the F-16 during the AF competition. The F-14 is a FLEET DEFENDER using the phoenix missile system, mach 2+, and using a powerful radar and an advance targeting and tracking system. The Tomcat didn't get its bombs until WAAAAAAY later called Bombcat.

  • @SuperHornetTV I like them both, but IMO tomcat if just more beautiful. FIGHTER FLING FTW!

  • @SuperHornetTV Plus, why did so many grown men cry during the tomcats last flight? And why is the Tomcat called the Navy's last fighter? Hmmm

  • that was a shit landing at 1:00

  • wat a beautiful bird, adorable.

  • I've got to love this video. These are propably the greatest machines that man can handle.

  • f-22

  • Waste of Money

  • the song is kryptonite from three doors down
