@ctrymaus And there was I doing my best Eddie Vedder impersonation and extending my vocal range to go into basso profondo mode hoping to get somebody's nickers in a twist... but times have changed Ah tell you... times have changed... when I was a boy a stalker would have been called a secret admirer :-)
@weegingayin Oh! I thought the twirling-your-moustache-like-a-villain was a clue at the beginning that you were the bad guy! Sorry! I am practicing a song by faithtruthlove07 right now that I swear is about a vampire! But she probably didn't mean it that way. And you're right about secret admirer/stalker. I guess it's all in intent...and that's hard to tell from the outside!
@ctrymaus I think I just might run with your interpretation... yes I was doing a Professor James Moriarty moustache twirl. He was so jealous of Sherlock playing the violin he took up the ukulele, and it is a little known fact that "dream a little dream" was a song he sang to that exotic dancer and femme fatale Mata Hari when he attempted to woo her and win her away from Holmes :-)
@weegingayin Hee! My favourite Sherlock Holmes *now* is Benedict Cumberbatch in the 21st-century "Sherlock" on BBC One. I *was* swearing up-and-down that only Jeremy Brett could ever be Sherlock Holmes, but I've been converted. :-p
Great Interpretation Weeyin

The mustache twirl is the icing on the cake. No, the mustache twirl is the cake and the song is the icing.

Wonderful, otherwordly choice!
Please utube search Sophie Medeleine's version...her voice is like ripples on a clear pond. Check it out, please.
Your voice is like a maniacal music box--eeerie and gray. You could have helped Cass Elliott suck the campiness right out of this tune.
Well done, WGG.

You made it your own. Lovely gentle song. Thanks for the links to the other versions too. My favourite is the Ozzie Nelson.
