  • now the children know the electriciti cost jejejejeje

  • I'm trying to build one of these but having trouble sourcing all the parts. Where can I get a 46 inch belt for ten bucks?

  • @Nachito667 You can get a belt like that from Auto zone or any decent automtive place. The belt will not have to be exactly 64 inches if you have a sliding adjustment type design where you can take up the slack in a belt by sliding the generator back.

  • I'm trying to build one of these but having trouble sourcing all the parts. Where can I get a 46 inch belt for ten bucks?

  • Children in scools should generate power by doing this while sitting - free energy for everyone, the kids have excersise, and its ecological.

  • kurwa co ja oglądam

  • dude every time they pedal , their face gets pixilated !!! :D

  • can u run a diesel via liposuction?

  • bike power

  • 0:50 Amazing blur over

  • Free energy has been here all along ,But the powerfull Oil business won't alow common ppl to know this,Get a motor that works with the power of magnets only at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Free yourself!

  • µ$760.oo are they nuts?

I found an alternator in the scrapyard for 15.oo

an old bicycle I found in the trash with flat tires

the stand was made from an old weight bench (in the trash)

the rest I built from parts I had lying around

    consumerism really is rampant

    peace :)

  • Hence the free plans on pedal power generator web site so you can build it yourself

  • This still Burns energy via food that people eat, plus transport for that food, plus paggaging for that food, plus making the bike, etc=golbal warming

  • @Films4You

You can get all the parts second hand (recycled) and if you have kids you know they have energy to burn. They can run around the house or "ride" one of these bikes to charge some batteries. Tell them it's a game and they'll love it.

  • Yes- the kids bike is great for kids who want to watch TV. If you hook up a bike generator for the kid to a 12 Volt Deep cycle lead acid battery pack, then plug the TV into the power pack. You can get a Black and Decker powerpack from Walmart for $70.00

  • The assumption is that kids / people would exercise any way. So why not harness some of that power and put it to good use ?

  • @Films4You Yes. But people need to exercise. Better to turn that food into electricity than fat. & grow your own food don't eat the GMO crap in a box. etc= CLIMATEGATE

  • Nice activiti THX

  • i had one that was powering 9 X 24V truck generators and it wasn't heavy at all to pedal.

As light as your normal cyclette. I didn't have the money/space for batteries so I sold it. Having the batteries could power your whole house on it by pedalling 2 hours a day.

  • The kids are all criminals, that's why their faces have been pixelated.

  • i saw some of the kids faces

  • poor poor kids tricked into making electricity

  • Im gonna put my kids on a couple of these and they will be in bed by 10 pm for sure in the future! I will just lie and say they are creating energy to run the entire house because the economy is so bad.. .no bike pedaling for 4 hours a day...no Playstation 3!

  • Having a bicycle powered sewing machine, I can't help wondering what the fascination is with pedal powered electricity is about. Of what practical use is it? Sure, it's fun to play with.....for a minute or two. Somehow I can't see anyone pedaling for three or four hours to charge their cell phone. I just don't see much practical use for the amount of electrical power generated. Can someone give me a clue? Pedaling to get someplace, short term use of a machine, yes. but electricity???

  • I found an answer for my question. With a generator capable of putting out 10 amps at 14 volts, one could put enough charge a dead car battery in about 10 minutes to get it started. Makes jumper cables obsolete!

  • @awizardalso jumpers cables wont be made obsolete.

    1. there easier to take around with you

2, its a hell of alot quicker, and takes no effort.

id rather do nothing for 1 minute. to get my truck started, then spend ten minutes pedaling a bike.

  • @vegas98754 I have to agree with you. Although I don't have anything against pedal powered electricity, practical experience has shown that it's not very useful. I certainly don't want to pedal for 2 hours just to charge my cell phone battery, either!

  • @awizardalso its a smaller part to a bigger system. something like this as a practical use would be adding it to your current thing to do to reduce power. and just hook it straight up to your house and do your exercise on it. wont power your whole house by itself but youd be amazed what it will cut down if made properly.

a mountain bike would be your best option as you can change how much effort you wish to make. and so more than one person can actively use it.

  • Lol Looks like the childrem having fun...

  • Most Treadmill motors are rated to handle a max current of 6 or 7 amps which would only let you deliver around 100 Watts of power. The leeson M1120046 is rated for 14 Amps which translates to about 200 Watts of delivered power when charging a powerpack or lead acid battery at 14.8 Volts ( 14 Amps X 14.8 Volts = ~ 200 Watts.

  • Did I see a cost for the motor/generator as $150? You can get old tradmill permanent magnet motors for a third of that on ebay.

  • At last! A reason to have children!

  • Hahahahahaha

  • AHHAHAHAHAHAHH ROFLMAO

  • ummm. i dont think i saw a diode in that circuit. not that you need it for what your doing, but i would much rather have the outpout power go to a battery first before going to a load.

i guess you are trying to see how many watts you can get though?. so thats a pretty good setup!

  • cool.

  • how much does a bike-pedaling slave child cost, or is that included in the package?

  • To 'balanceblue': At best that's a terrible joke.....at worst you wanna buy child slaves.....for you.....or you wanna make a handsome profit reselling them to the highest bidding pedophile???? I think this is a REAL GOOD science class for the kids!!!

  • @balanceblue That would depend on how good you are in divorce court! You could actually get PAID to have them (welfare/child support) on top of the free energy!

  • @balanceblue Kids are free as long as you subtract the cost to feed, cloth, house, educate, and vaccinate :-)

  • I support your efforts to keep kids entertained and creative and not fat and sluggish.

  • Everyone should have one of these ') .. cheers.

  • Cool video,im curous about how long it would take to charge a bank of 12v batterys at low to moderate wind can someone give me a few examples?I wanna go off grid,id like to build a windturbine large enough[mayb 2 or 3]to also heat my home[in floor elec heat].How many batterys you think i'll need?how big an inverter?I'd like to build a larger windmill[wind the coils and set the magnets etc, but not sure how the ends of each coil are conected, and end up with 3 wires[im new at this] thanks guys.

  • Take a look at your electric bill and tell me what your peak monthly kW-H usage was. Do you have electric range, water heater, heating, and dryer? What we have to do is determine if you turned all these things on at once, and that would give us the peak power or peak current need to be supplied by your alternative energy / power system.

  • I'd use an apostrophe instead of a comma. Moron.

  • At last! A reason to have children!

  • Comment removed

  • Is there anyway to hook a battery up to the bike that would store the energy and then later you could plug something up that would use the energy?

  • I was wondering the exact same thing...

We could use something like that around here.

  • Yes there is, you can by a xantrex power pack with built in Sealed Lead acid battery, 400 Watt AC inverter, flashlight, jumper cables, and air compressor for $100.00 US.

  • That's bloody cheap!!

  • Great way ta keep them kids busy ! pettalpower for them video game rewards !Bounce Point in a Famialy Lesson DIY !Maby even do a live assemble at a local farmers market= rig your X-mas Lights interphase to a musical aglarythem -INSPIRE your creative skills into useable skills we seem to be missing ,right under our nose ,,Great UP-load !Thanks, this works 4 Me !and I will pass it ON !!

  • I built one of these with a spinner bike, which i found to be better than a cconventional bike. The spinner has a very heavy steel wheel that initially is hard to get going but then moves very easily on it's own momentum. Its more muscle and less stamina. So even as you glide, the wheel keeps moving and so does the juice.

  • I have a treadmill that is not currently being used. Do you think that I could use the same concept here and maybe even use the motor inside the treadmill as the alternator piece?

  • how would you get a grip on the moving floor to move the motor?

  • why is that nonsense for you? I am making one miself, it's amazing

  • How long does it take to charge a 9v or 12v battery?

I really appreciated your answer. thanks!

  • Great questio. Let's say you were to get a Duracell DPP-600HD Powerpack 600 Jump Starter & Emergency Power Source with Radio (by Xantrex) for $99.00. This has a 28 Amp Hour DC Deep CYcle Sealed battery inside. You could hook up a bike generator to it, and charge it in about 7 hours. (Assuming you put out 100 Watts of power which is equivalent to about 6 Amps of charging current)

    Brad

  • Excellent Idea!

  • Hey here a thought let take all the weight benches out of prison. put these in instead and they can power there own prison life see how it done for the rest of us. If you dont produce enough energy you dont get heat.

  • HAHA, thanks for that whoybeen, I needed a good laugh. But its a great idea too. Not sure about the no heat thing though :) It does sorta bring back the chain-gang way though.

  • This is an educational event. He's not using a bunch of hyper-energenic kids as a primary energy source. Besides the Child Labor Laws kinda-sorts prohibits that sort of thing.
