Short and unimpressive body....She grabbed the gold in the Moscow Games, after Nadia's unfortunate fall from the bars and that's it. Nobody had ever heard of Davydova before the 1980 Games. Just look at her beam work at these Worlds...
Monica phelps is a classic, she mispronounced EVERYONES names, makes far too many opinionated and inappropriate remark and generally doesnt give a damn.... Shes a coach and not really much good as a commentator, but I think shes brilliant.... Only Monica would use the phrase sex appeal to describe a deeply underdeveloped and girlish soviet gymnast in 1980 as using 'sex appeal'.....
@gymnasticsloverxoxo The gyrating of the hips and some of the bobbing neck movements were very daring for that time period, remember, it was the only third time taped music was used in a major worlds....only 2 yrs before people were still using piano music. The arabic music makes it a little more sensual, which is what the commentator was probably sensing
