How do you 'just forget' you have a kid in the car with you. Every time I look in my rear view mirror I see almost my entire back seat. It is not a very large space between the front and back seats in a truck. But she will not face charges because she is a professional worker and probably has lots of doctor friends with money who will back her up

Like, when you were a kid, and it was the next day of school, you probably did all your homework but didnt realise you accidently left back home because your mind probably told you; "Yes, your hw is in your backpack, not hurry cant be late for school!"
In this day and age, with all the stress that exists in life, it's a wonder it doesn't happen more often....it's very easy to become pre-occupied with other daily tasks.......allot of people have asked "how could she forget her son was in the car?", I can't answer that, no-one can.....I have seen parents forget to pick their kids up from school, from sport, you name it......it shouldn't happen...but, it does..is she a bad parent?.....NO!

Actually, it almost happened to me. (I was the child.) My mom forgot to drop me off before heading to work. Right before she left the vehicle to go to work, I whimpered and she turned around and noticed. If it wasn't for that whimper, I would have been in the same predicament. So, yes, it actually really can happen to anyone. My mom is an excellent mother, but she had a momentary lapse. It's easy to judge when it is put so black and white like on the news, but not in real life.

Every hospital I've been to has a small room of some sort where kids can keep themselves somewhat busy She could've brought some toys and other such trinkets her child likes to play with and brought them in with her and place them in a safe and secure room to play in.

Her heart is broken by the fact she caused his death, and she will always have that to live with. What has happen isn't fixable, but trying to educate other people is. I started a foundation for awareness for child safety after my son passed away. I never heard of any child dying this way until my son passed on, I don't want to every hear of another. This isn't something I can do alone, its something everyone has to help in. Never Forget, and don't walk by and do nothing.
My son Christian LaCombe was the other child that passed away on Aug 13th 2008. His Grandmother was asked to drop him off at day care on her way to work by his mother. It wasn't something she did often, and she love him so very much. If you think that for these parents who do not mean to do such things should go to prison, I promise you there is no prison like the one they cause themselves.
To be an operating room tech...you kind of can't forget things :s...sooo how do you forget that there is an infant in your car?? And to get out the car, most people turn around or at least step out a bit to shut the door :s. And she's reversed in (bed facing the entrance) So she had to pass the rear...to get to the entrance.....so how do you not notice a 3yr old toddler in your back seat? That is just too bizarre & too reckless to chalk up as an accident. I wouldn't place my job over my child.

If you can't get anyone to stay at home and watch your child, you bring that child with you. Every hospital I've been to has a small room of some sort where kids can keep themselves somewhat busy She could've brought some toys and other such trinkets her child likes to play with and brought them in with her and place them in a safe and secure room to play in.

Her heart is broken by the fact she caused his death, and she will always have that to live with. What has happen isn't fixable, but trying to educate other people is. I started a foundation for awareness for child safety after my son passed away. I never heard of any child dying this way until my son passed on, I don't want to every hear of another. This isn't something I can do alone, its something everyone has to help in. Never Forget, and don't walk by and do nothing.

My son Christian LaCombe was the other child that passed away on Aug 13th 2008. His Grandmother was asked to drop him off at day care on her way to work by his mother. It wasn't something she did often, and she love him so very much. If you think that for these parents who do not mean to do such things should go to prison, I promise you there is no prison like the one they cause themselves.

To be an operating room tech...you kind of can't forget things :s...sooo how do you forget that there is an infant in your car?? And to get out the car, most people turn around or at least step out a bit to shut the door :s. And she's reversed in (bed facing the entrance) So she had to pass the rear...to get to the entrance.....so how do you not notice a 3yr old toddler in your back seat? That is just too bizarre & too reckless to chalk up as an accident. I wouldn't place my job over my child.
