Trying to de-hellinize or "prove" the macedonians as non Greeks does NOT work in your favour, Because Freind it doesnt change what YOU are..you people are Slavs..And the Macedonians Were Definatly not...They called themselfves Greeks : "I have gatherd you here under this hot sun to battle for the Glory of Greece" _ Alexander at Guagamella And Greeks they where.

Why I should consider myself as Slav? I have a full right to cold myself Macedonian... My parents are Macedonians from Pelagonia, just like my grandparents. My great-grandparents were also Macedonians from Pelagonia, just like their parents and grandparents. And I am Macedonian from Pelagonia, born in Heraclea. Pelagonia was a part of ancient Macedonia and my family had live on Pelagonian land more than 1500 years. So what am I now? - American?

But Paeonia did not exited when the Slavs inhabit there, but Macedonia. When Alexander conquered Paeonia he Macedonised the people there, and one territory's name derived by the people that live there, so in Paeonia lived Macedonians and the territory was named Macedonia.
And if Slavs invaded only in Paeonia, than what about: Heraclea (Bitola), Lychnid (Ohrid), Gortynia (Gevgelija), Astarion (Strumica) etc...? These cities were ancient Macedonian, what happened to them?

Demosthenes never named a Greek as Barbarian. Majority of the scientists believe that the term "Barbarians" in the ancient period was used to refer mainly to people that spoke language, that Greeks could not understand, usually accompanied by a dose of disregard towards the culture of the people speaking that language. It is well known that all the people that did not speak Greek were named "Barbarians", whereas the Greeks from the city-states used the word "Xenoi" when referring to one-another.

The Greeks regarded as Barbarians: the Persians, Thracians, Illyrians, Macedonians, etc. You claim that Philip was Greek, and that Demosthenes called him "not only no Greek, nor related to the Greeks" and "barbarian", only as "simply attack"? We know for a fact that the ancient Greeks also called the Persians barbarians. Are we suppose to say now, based on your "logic", that the Persians were too a Greek tribe, but they were called non-Greeks only as "simple attack"?

And what about Stabo's claiming? Paeonia and Thracia were part of ancient Macedonia, so they were Macedonians?
As Macedonia is located north of Thessaly it is obviously not a part of Greece, nor the Macedonians were Greeks, for the most northerly Greeks were already the Thessalians;

history of ancient Macedonia has been described where the distinction of Macedonian language has been clearly emphasized. It has been described in
this text how the secretary of Philip and Alexander of Macedon, Eumenes was: "sending forth a man called Xennias who was Macedonian in speech" to negotiate with the Macedonian army of Neoptolemeus. This event took place around 321 BC.

Thessaloniki as you said the victory against thessalians but why did you cut the word as you like? Thessalo-Niki Thessalo=people from thessalia, niki = νίκη 100% greek word. In those ages greece was kind of splitted between areas but all people speaked Greek. Thessaloi was speaking greek, macedonias was speaking greek that's why every city all over the greece has a greek name.
Thessalo-Níki or Θεσσαλο-Νίκη is a greek name too.

Look pedimo, I agree the Macedonians had Greek names, of course not Slavic, so what? The Hellenic culture was the most dominant culture in the ancient times, so the Macedonians had Greek names. But that don't telling noting... The Hellenic culture was spread as far, even The French city Monaco's name comes from the Greek word Monoikos, which means on Greek "single house".
The Catalan city of Empúries's name derived from the Greek word "Emporion" which means "market" etc.

If Macedonians were Greeks because of their Greek names, than and the French people should be Greeks to because they had Greek names to.
And the ancient historians like: Quintus Rufus, Plutarch, Arrian etc. in their writings wrote that the ancient Macedonians spoke their own separate Macedonian language.
And Greeks claimed Macedonians as Barbarians, and Barbarians is Greek word that mean stranger, someone who is not Greek and don't speak Greek language.
