Seen Clutch at club Graffiti in Pittsburgh back in "99", pure rock fury for sure! I sure do miss that place, it was the best small venue in Pittsburgh.
@reddfused Yes. This is their Live in Flint Michigan release. Excellent piece. 2 discs of classics and a few hard to finds. Got it from one of their shows.
Is this from the live in flint recording? I remeber hearing Neil something like 'if all goes as planned you'll be seeing yourselves on tv very soon' in the middle of it, but i never saw any video of it.
okay so I just saw them yesterday... did they get rid of the harmonica guy? they didnt play Burning Beard, Electric Worry, The Regulator... I feel like I'm missing out..
@nonicknamekid2010 fuckin pisses me off when i discover a band like this and realize ive been missing out on it. now to make up for lost time. whats the first album i should buy?
@sparkles67 Clutch (self titled) and Blast Tyrant are indispensible, Blast Tyrant is getting reissued in April (if you want a unopened copy now its gonna cost you) so go with the self titled and if you dig it buy blast tyrant in April :D hope that helps.
@sparkles67 Yea just saw them about a month ago, and I'm going in France to see them (among many other bands) at Hellfest in June. I'm sure there will be more new music but they already have a an extensive back catalouge.
@sparkles67 If I were you I'd start back at the beginning with Pitchfork, then Impetus, then TransnationalSpeedwayLeague..and so on. It's wild to see how these guys have progressed over 20 years.
There's a reason that Pot is over a billion dollar industry(unofficial industry of course) up here in Canada. We've had a lot of practice perfecting the good grass. :)
@zenwinex the bass, like any other instrument, is supposed to sound good when played. thinking instruments have a certain way to be played is why music hasn't progressed lately: because of close minded thinking and little to no experimentation. also, guitarists use picks and their fingers, and both are considered "correct." i've even seen guitarists use their feet. who gives a shit how you play it as long as it sounds good.
I totally aggree! I phrased myself pretty stipd in my comment. I meant that it sounds (to me) a lot cooler played by fingers, especially slap is in my opinion much better than picking.
Does anyone know the song they have on just before they go on stage?

@marty2824 Motorhead was fucking awesome, although it was loud, you should feel lucky to have witnessed rock and roll royalty.
That is of course unless you've already seen them :D I just need to knock Black Sabbath off my list

Neil Fallon is such a good vocalist, and Clutch is such a perfect band for his voice.

it's nice to see a rock bassist that doesn't use a pick.
smeezh 2 years ago
@smeezh why is there always someone who thinks its wrong to use a pick on a bass?
stinkyloot138 1 year ago
@stinkyloot138
Its not wrong its just cooler to not use it, its the way that bass is supposed to be played.
