Ok, I listen to some REALLY HEAVY shit... Like brutal death metal and stuff, but I'm not gonna lie: this is one of the most epicly badass heavy metal songs I have EVER heard. And seeing the guitarists throw their guitars around and the drummers beating the shit out of the drums without mercy just makes it even better! LOVE this band!

a band doesnt really have to play one style thier whole career... they changed with the times; thrash isnt as big as it used to be, so thier music became slightly more technical in style. Yah gotta admire them for being so pro-active.

On a differnt note, they've stayed true to there resolve of being a christian metal band.

This band is really good skillwise but they have no integrity. Their first album sounded like Slayer then next one was straight death metal, then they mixed it with powergroove and nowadays they trying to be Unearth with stage moves and everything. Again, great musicianship but definately not defined.

well first off theres only one remaining original member. that was a different time and thrash wasnt as big. second thats what makes them so different them so different cuz they dont have a specific style and most people like the variations

As I Lay Dying is one of the best metal bands out right now. And I'm sorry, the beginning drum rhythm in "Bloodwork" is copied in "Distance is Darkness".

AILD is a great band (An Ocean Between Us = my favorite metal album of 2007) but Living Sacrifice are legends. They were making metal back in 1989 and were the first christian death metal band. They are the reason bands such as AILD and Demon Hunter (awesome!!!) excist today. Godfathers of christian metal!!!

Actually dude, this isnt death metal. Mortification was the first christian death metal band, and probably the only ones who have made a name for themselves.

Living Sacrifice is known for changing styles musically. They're first album was death metal (my point), the 2nd was thrash and from there on more to a hardcore kind of thing. Last album was kind of a Meshuggah rip off. Mortification's first albums were good/decent, they suck now. I prefer L.S.

I agree with that, Living Sacrifice (self titled) was Slayer style thrash. Non Existent was pretty much Obituary, so it was death with a touch of black (or unblack metal as the case may be). Inhabit was a different sort of death metal, but still death metal. Reborn was a much more raw form of metalcore touched here and there by death metal and The Hammering Process and Conceived In Fire were more melodic, cleaner versions of Reborn.

Their style I describe as Living Sacrifice metal.
