  • The one problem I see with legalizing and taxation ( I'm for it because I love smoking pot. :P) is that once the tobacco companies get into the game, they will start adding dangerous chemicals to make it more addictive, just as they did with cigarettes. Also, they use radioactive fertilizers, which in turn cause cancer. So then the reefer madness crusaders will be able to say "I told you so" even though it won't be the cannabis doing it.

  • I don't think i wanna trust the government to ensure the safety of the marijuana. They let so many bad food and stuff out into the public. And they always claim it's safe. why believe them now?

  • the drug companies get their greedy hands on the stuff and drop the price to where the black market can't compete and turn will stop all the traffic of human lives, guns and other harmful activities like killing cops on the boarders of mexico. Can you see the chain of events. 20 years from now will tell the whole story when the gangsters/cartels are out of business and wars on the boarder are gone and most americans don't even care about marijuana, this will be clearly the right path of action

  • once this all happens the goverment will release thousands of prisoners and that in turn will release billions of dollars housing non violent offenders, scratch the felony off their records and return their children to them. talk about cutting the budget in half. Plus our goverment that is making millions in their back pocket will now lose there funding to be reelected by the system that destroys life every day. prohibition is a money making scam for are cartel goverment. "Do Not Allow"

  • Sideburns babe!

  • that stupid ass govenor wonders why alot of countries have it as a controlled substace. i forgot which act it was but i know it was after the controlled substances act of 1970. and yes you dumbass is started with racism... the el paso ordinence of 1912. gay ass anslinger didnt like mexicans so he used "marihuana" as an excuse

  • Why was that dude so hell bent on comparing our marijuana laws with other countries, that type of narrow minded thinking is what we need to avoid so vote him out and vote for someone that actually has a plan!

  • It was tricky Dick (Nixson) who told Napal that if they didn't close their hash den etc. that they would lose the aid money we were giving them. We need to speak louder this crazy that it is not legalized. We need to march in Washington!

  • Legalize! Don't just be a complacent stoner. TAKE ACTION!

  • so far no dislikes =)

  • Maybe if the guy didn't smoke so much pot, he'd put up a much better argument.

  • De-criminalize. Don't legalize.

  • LEGALIZE DAMNIT!!!!!!

the man is wasting money keeping it illegal, when he could be making money making it legal!

crime rates would go way down, (nobody selling, or buying illegal, and no drug deals gone bad)

the economy would go way up,

    heres an interesting fact.

more people die from cancer caused by the carcinogens in tobacco products, than people who die marijuana related deaths.

  • @ledzeppfan1000 marijuana related deaths = 0

  • hello

  • gate way yeh your right thank your self for that one us government if we didnt have to go to people who usaully sell more than weed our kids wouldnt be as likely to be introduced to those kind of drugs your really throwing it in there faces and if its as bad as yall say this pot i tried then why not try it right if we took out pot dealers by legalizing pot wouldnt it be easier to find the real drug dealers SAVE AMERICA LEGALIZE IT

  • Im a vet from the iraqi war i've been to iraq once in the army and three times with kbr and i suffer from ptsd the drugs va gave me should be illegal with the insane side effects they have so i self medicate with cannabis i can sleep eat and go shopping for the things i need without having to leave a full shopping cart in the middle of an isle because of my nerves AND GUESS WHAT NO BAD OR LIFE TAKING SIDE EFFECTS lets fight for the us here in AMERICA save our country now legalize it

  • LEGALIZE

  • LEGALIZE IT! tobacco and alcohol kill thousands of people and marijuana kills ZERO. its also going to help out the economy and hopefully bring it back to its previous state of being.

  • Yes, and ignorant people don't seem to understand that. Tobacco kills roughly 450,000+ people per year, Alcohol? 65,000+ deathsw per year. Marijuana: 0. Legalize it.

  • The fucking Declaration of Independence was written on hemp paper. Legalize it!!!!

  • Does that mean that our own government is in illegal posession of a controled substance? what should be done about that?

  • @georgeaabrahamsen And Washington and Jefferson SMOKED and GREW it! And bottom line is FREEDOM! Legalize the harmless plant!!

  • This ass hat asking the question doesn't know his History! it was a Policy imposed by the United states on other countries by blackmail to get it outlawed or suffer boycott of goods bought and sold by the united states.

  • This guy missed a key point to answer the question, He needed to say that the U.S. should not follow what other countries do, every country is different. We are America we should be the leader and other countries should follow us.

  • Yea, that was making me extremely angrey

  • Those polititians are pussies and will never no matter what the facts are change anything.Peace

  • united we stand 4 the greatest plant on earth #1 medicine #1 fuel #1 paper #1 fiber #1 food

  • not to much longer.

  • To answer that politician's question, it's not legal in other countries due to American interference. The U.S. ambassador to Canada stated the U.S. would shut down border traffic if Canada legalized cannabis. I'm sure they would behave similarly if other countries tried to follow Canada's lead.

  • oh what? Is Massachusetts gonna beat us at legalizing Marijuana first? lol Damn it! Oh well =P its gonna be a Domino effect, one state legalizes it, then slowly all the others will.

  • The funny thing about the legal status of marijuana throughout the world is that the United States has practically forced its beliefs down the throats of nations around the world...

  • Without a doubt.

But the movement is going strong and the truth will be heard..Finally ;) lol.

  • I'd blame the American government, not the average American citizen. However, you're right in your statement. As a Canadian, I can tell you that it would be legal or at the very least decriminalized except for U.S. interference/trade threats. A Senate committee here recommended legalization/decriminalization as recently as 2002, but reports like those fall on deaf ears.
