  • Well, Uvria, I'll try to answer your question. In the Bernanos novel the song is a direct quote from Casismir Delavigne's poem Trois jours de Christophe Colomb (there may exist an arrangement for this somewhere), but the lyric gets drastically reworked here by Bresson to echo certain symbolic gestures made within the film, so we know this song doesn't exist outside of the film.

  • je cropis que c'est un cantique ,mais pas sur

  • What happened to Nadine Nortier? She was such a lovely young lady.

I am French, and never ever have seen her again, in any movie-

    She is adorable-

She is a little older than I am now-

    Anthony from Rouen--

If anyone knows, please tell me--

    Thanks

  • She disappeared after this movie, none know how nor where nor why. She remains Mouchette forever.

  • @poitrenaud

I've also wondered whatever happened to Ms. Nortier. I can only guess that she doesn't want us to know and the few people alive who do know where she is (or what happened to her) are respecting her wishes to keep that information secret.

I do know that a band named "Old Yeller & The Pigbites" released an LP that seems to be dedicated to her (judging from the title "Songs for Nadine" and the cover the pretty photo on the cover).
