This concrete is poor. Besides, no steel in it. No bullets can go through a say 10cm-wide reinforced concrete wall AT ALL: Why do you think shelters are made of reinforced concrete against bombs? DUH.
Actually, there is more to it than that. The 5.56 and or .223 tumble around in the body when they hit. Anyway, the AK and the M4/M16 variants are pretty different. I don't really want to get caught up in a gun argument that really comes down to preference.
Let's stand 500 yds. apart. You with your commie designed, drug lord, gangbanger, thug weapon the AK, and me with my AR. Begin shooting at me while I laugh at all your misses, then I'll place my shot exactly where I want it and waste you.
@Isakuma And you're right, sorry I get pretty steamed when some obvious air softer/video game player rags on the M16/AR15. The AK is a fine weapon, those with milled receivers are better than the stamped ones. I wouldn't trade my AR for one though.
@ericr530 First of all, your "drug lord, gangbanger" is quite disrespectful towards the AK rifle. Secondly, the example is like saying "let's do a fist fight but I'll have a sword" (I wouldn't wonder if AR is a bit preciser at longer ranges than the AK). Then there's your attempt to make the AR look superior to the AK, which it isn't in my humble opinion (you bark too much about it). I'd rather have an M4 hit me than the AK.
I respect your preference for the AR, but I just think you're ignorant.
@SubzeroedMind Yes I was being a little facetious, but in truth I like both weapons , the AK must have a milled receiver that is the cardinal rule. Otherwise you can keep your stamped Bulgarian, Yugoslavian stamped sheet metal piece of garbage crap , and I'll keep my Stag/YHM HBAR CAR.
It's all about velocity... Any AK 47 round will shatter a cinder block. It has more mass. Typically weighing between 122-140gr. The .223 / 5.56 is lighter, 55-75gr. But is usually moving almost 1000 fps faster than the 7.62x39mm. (AK 47) I own rifles that fire both and the one thing I can tell you for absolute certain. I wouldn't want hit with either. A 9mm will go through a cinder block. At least one side. (115gr moving at 900-1100 fps maybe?) Don't be so surprised a .223 did.

@SubzeroedMind I hope your joking, that wouldn't be very smart at such a close range.

@ericr530 Fair enough man... I think they're like two different schools - dealing with the same subject, but having a different point of view.
Anyhow, enjoy the shootings while it's legal ;)
Peace man

maybe a .50 caliber rifle or even an armor piercing AK 47 round is capable of that
