  • Amazed by the heaviness. My favorite meshugah piece.

  • Tuning is open Octave Drop Bb 0.

Bb Bb Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb

  • Nice, that's six strings isn't it? What gauge do you have?

  • I just wasn't willing to believe they were playing the one chord the whole song I mistook unmuted notes for a semi-tone up. I was young.

  • its drop A#: A# F A# D# G# C# F A#, like 'standard' meshuggah tuning with 9th low string A# (F A# D# G# C# F A#) without highest string D#. It's sounds really tight with that really really low tuning :D

  • @Pustelnik88 It's B flat

  • Dude you have to practice on the timing... check my video out

  • due im sorry but u need to fix ur distortion its not sounding too good

  • this is the best song in the world, makes me crush everybodys head.MESHUGGAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !

  • Also i just noticed why didn't you move down at the end of the track? :s

  • Not bad, but there are a lot of mistakes. The riff at 0.28 doesn't play up a fret....It's the same note as the rest of it.

This is fun to play though so good stuff nonetheless.

  • Awsome

  • awesome job man, loved it!

  • You're a bit off with timing at the pre-chorus section everytime. But it sounds good anyway.

  • What string guitar is that and what tuning?

  • That is a Ibanez Universe 7 string. I have tuned right down to GCgcfad (which is NOT what Meshuggah use at all).

  • From what I understand Meshuggah went down from F-Standard / drop-E that they used for the Nothing album and played in Bb2-Standard, an octave below regular B-flat tuning, on bass AND RHYTHM GUITAR in Spasm? I think the lead guitar to be in A#-Standard.

  • Oh perhaps you're right that would explain why it sounds so heavy.

  • @supermot34 It's in Drop E I think

  • @AaronWelchMusic i thought it was an octave lower tuning. E2 or something

  • @HouseHoldGuy1 not what i've found in tabs, but i dunno xD

And to be honest, i don't think the tunings necessary as the rhythm part plays like 2 chords all the way through :P

  • @AaronWelchMusic i'm not sure how correct my information is either (it's from Wikipedia :3)

i don't know. i don't really think we should focus on the tuning, but rather the awesomeness of MESHUGGAH

  • @HouseHoldGuy1 Good plan xD

Don't forget the key change for the guitar solo though :P

  • @AaronWelchMusic oh. that's a necessity lol

  • I guess you could get a whammy pedal and hook it up to a seven string in B flat, and set the whammy pedal to an octave down.

  • You could, but I would much rather spend a few grand on a godly baritone.

  • @DanteLeblanc actually they only used drop-E for this song, every other song is tuned to F (F, Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Bb, and an extra high Eb when they re-recorded the album with 8-string guitars)

  • @CodyOfTheWarzone it really sounds like Low A#

  • @DanteLeblanc Correct, the guitars in Spam include a double drop Bb as it's lowest string (in other words, one octave and one semitone lower than a standard 7-string's low B)

  • @DanteLeblanc A# and Bb are the same note.

  • SLAYER!!!!

  • pretty osm
