UPS "Uninteruptable Power Supply" for computers come in all sizes, and usually have internal batteries. What makes these affordable is when the internal batteries got bad many just get scraped. they come in 12, 24 and other voltages. Nothing stopping you from connecting an external battery and having it do standby for a sump or well pump if it is large enough to start it
Well I live in Botswana, Africa. and its was 46 ºC = 114.8 ºF we have had no electricity of 4 days in a row, that means no aircon. So I am going to get some solar panels!!
my friend I thinks you ha a nice voice and you can be if u want a Radio voice or any show voice, if u can find me 3000 whatts inverter to run my a/c unit the only needs 1020 wtts to run here in miami florida they are very expencibe , let me know if u see something about 2000 wtts to 3000 wtts please send me a text joselm1029@gmail.com thanks , and keep up that good work.
@joseluis1029 -- If you search on ebay, there is a PowerJack 1500-watt pure sine wave inverter with 3,000 watt surge. It is priced at $199 with shipping included. I think they are made in Taiwan, and I am not sure how good they are. If you use a modified sine wave inverter, electric appliances will run hotter and not last as long. Pure sine wave is a "cleaner" electricity. But you can find modified sine wave inverters much cheaper.
This advice is just for you in a part of the world that has the odd blackout.
Although deep cycle batteries are great for day to day solar use ect, it is fine to grab some old used car batteries for emergency use from the scrap yard. You should just charge em and store em. Check on em occasionally and top up charge any you need to.
Take a multimeter to the scrap yard with you and just pick the best batteries, one that look in good condition and have a nice high voltage. Just for blackouts.
That's the way to do it! Scavenge around for surplus parts. Quite a few years back, we lost power for 15 days due to an ice storm from hell but we heated with a wood stove so I went and purchased 6 of the roadside 15 watt florescent emergency lights that plugged into your cigarette lighter along with three 12 volt lawn mower batteries and this is how we light the house. We also had a 12 volt TV and one by one our neighbors left for hotels while we had light and heat so I commend your effort.
i hear i live in north central tx and its hot here i think 2 days out of july has been under 100 according to the tv but i havent seen any at my house yet according to my thermometer and still no rain

@CTOL1 I agree with the UPS and the AC might even be cleaner but don't quote me on that. Rob
