  • This song just has the 'whatever' vibe. :)

  • This sounds very much like the song "Lithium Flower" which comes at the end of "Ghost in the Shell - Stand Alone Complex". Or is it just me?

  • @digitalfol yea thats wat i was thinkin too, and it is, she just re-made it...

  • @narusasuoooxxx Except this came out in 1998, four years prior.

  • omg these song are amazing! There rock at some point then if you click on another one its so different bbut there all soo good!!!!!!! Her songs never sound alike thats proubly why everyone likes them. There all so uniqe she makes all of her songs so amazing!!

  • I recently started listening to her more and am mad at myself for not doing it sooner. She's amazing! Her voice takes me to a totally different place, it's so relaxing and soothing to the ears. Good shit.

  • at 0:25 my heart died for a second =[

  • Totes tripped out the first time i heard this cause i so thought she was going to start singing "lithium" from GITS SAC. Still a great song though, but I would love to hear her DO that son.

  • @SunlightShining haha I was expecting that too!

  • i specially like the way she is playing with her voice. all the sighs, every time her voice gives in, all the wispers, everything seems calculated and planned - just perfekt. She has absolute control, and that appeals me.

    Just epic.

  • She makes me wanna take a nap x3 (In a good way)

  • 2:42 Anymooore oooh darah~

  • Frou Frou- Shh

The original from the "Details" album. Can't find it on YouTube anywhere, & it's my favorite song from them; she sings it soo beautifully :)

  • XD this song took a bit for me to get into... but now I love it :3~ so catchy

  • That organ part is a warped version of Spill The Wine.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

The concept seems to be I Hate Myself For Loving You

  • That organ part is a warped version of Spill The Wine.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

  • I like it .;p

  • How is she when she doesn't surf?

  • @SuperkingJJ glad i'm not the only one

  • LYYYYRIIIICS noone puts that UR THE BEST

  • 2:12 to 2:40 best part

  • SHE'S JUST INCREDIBLE MATH

  • @SuperkingJJ I see what you did there

  • @SuperkingJJ

Indeed. I really want to go surfing with her.

  • @SuperkingJJ SHE'S SO NUMBER NINE.

  • @SuperkingJJ Just for the record, this predates Lithium Flower.

  • @relieved2 and again... I can't believe so many people are doing this...

  • i was typing in "imogen heap whatever" into the youtube bar and "whatcha say" kept coming up. (it's hide and seek, you idiots!!!) ugh peopel agrrivate me so much sometimes...

haha, i hadn't heard this song by imogen heap before though. i like it. :D

  • @delucified It's no use being upset by stupidity. The vast majority will remain ignorant and uneducated in what really matters until we all die. I like to look at it this way; Their loss.

  • @Silverfisk What does really matter? Educate me :) PM if u want to...

  • @andiskomfort I could be in the wrong here because my memory is shit but I cannot recall ever saying that I care to help. Also I am unable to tell whether or not I am being mocked here but just in case; My careface is vast and infinite.

  • @Silverfisk I wasn't mocking, I was serious. But if you don't care to help, then you don't know what's important in life :P. Whatever :)

  • @Silverfisk I wasn't mocking, I was serious. But if you don't care to help, then you don't know what's important in life :P. Whatever :) The song is great, but a bit too feminine for me :)

  • @andiskomfort You are implying that friendship, love and selflessness is important this however is only because you've yet to grasp that the only reason you are a nice person is because you enjoy being a nice person effectively making you an egoist just like me however if you can become happy and content with everything around you just by viewing yourself through someone else's eyes then that is undoubtedly fucking bananas and I'm happy for you.

  • I'm pretty sure making up 2 albums worth of songs on the spot and having them be awesome qualifies as being an amazing artists.

    Oh Imogen

    <3

  • One of my favourite Immi songs. Though it's hard choosing a favourite from her. :)

  • Comment removed

  • this song always makes me to dance with a blow dryer for some reason.

  • <3 her outfit in this pic!

  • Hey Staci-Traci LOL I searched this one down for u :) ENJOY

  • lithium flower reminds me of this song :)

  • Ok seriously the intro sounds exactly like the ending to Ghost In the Shell! Please tell me I'm not the first one to point this out...

  • @Melphinaumi That's what I thought.... it reminds me of lithium flower by steve conte hahaha.... great song though :D

  • @Melphinaumi i agree

  • @Melphinaumi Thank you SO MUCH for pegging that; it's been driving me NUTS for weeks -- seriously! I've been all over the internet trying to figure out where I heard this Imogen Heap song (just got into iMegaphone about a month ago). I was *sure* that I'd actually heard it on some show I watched a million times, but you explained it. I just listened to both songs -- this similarity can't be coincidence...

  • @Xodarap777 Hahaha, No problem! I'm glad I could be of service! *bows*

  • Oh gah I really really love her stuff now,I'm not sure how many people would agree or even understand my reference but doesn't this sound rather like Up Dharma Down? Anyone who like this oughta check em out.

  • yes, whatever,anyway,fuck off!

  • The guitar in the background (like at 2:47) really makes this song for me.

  • Dude I can't stop listening to her..

  • At first I was put off by her "non-musical" opening. But OMG I waited until later and now it's one of my favorites. :D I love her so much!

  • One of my faves from iMeg. I don't think this sounds like anything by Alanis, but if anyone wants to make a comparison, check out Can't Not from Alanis' "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie" (the album version). To me it sounds like a cross between the styles of the two albums. In fact, both albums were released in the same year.

  • oh my god! that exactly what my dad said about this song, @saxophonegirl92! this is my favorite song out of imegaphone.

  • this is so....Alanis Morrisette...wow, she has come so far developing her own little niche in music. i love how much she's grown

  • yep

  • every album she makes its different, and i really like that. each song she makes is so good, no matter what type it is

  • I love 2:02, i love the change. This song makes me want to dance and once it gets to that part i do the tango

  • Its amazing to see how her music has grown over the years.

  • Atzenmusik.<3

  • xD richtiig

  • Please view my video response to this.. it's the same song but a little higher pitched and I think it sounds sooo cute! :)

    I adoree this song! :D

  • she's good

  • all of her songs are NOTHING alike. its so weird.

  • thats called talent ^_^

  • ha ha ha

  • not weird, amazing! = D, lol

  • she is so different. i wish i could have a huge cd of every imogen heap song! and stick it on replay 24/7. for the rest of my life.

i never get tired of her music. its so addicive, and makes me so happy.

  • @AmyHaruno196x2 dude, i wake up in the morning, and hit the play button on my music player and play all of the immi songs i got and i listen to it ALL DAY. :D

  • all of her songs are awesome! they are all great, and i love her new album

  • I'm convinced she says "you're so exquisitely INbred", haha

  • yeah it does say inbred doesnt it :) hahah!

  • I love how every song of her's is different from the last one. I don't have a favorite. They're all great.

JUST GET OUT OF MY HEAD, CAUSE I CAN'T THIS TORTURE ANYMORE! Ohhh, anymore. ANYMORE!

That states how I feel about something....or rather someone.

  • I like the REBELLION in her voice in this song. Brilliant :)

  • i love how she is going against normality and trying new things....pretty much all of the songs i have listened to are so different! now one of my favorites :)

  • Now this is a good song!

  • Emmm the music at the beginning is from ghost in the shell..

  • Maybe the music from Ghost in the Shell is from this song? :)

  • Probably. Kanno seems to borrow heavily from diverse sources. In many cases samples songs.

  • Ohh..(mm) i love this song (love)

  • her voice makes my spine tingle, her music always seem to have a powerful way of sucking you into her world of beauty and butterflies, shes such an elegant genius.

  • couldn't have said it better.

  • @juliannarox

I agree, especially the butterfly part. Her music somehow makes me think of butterflies. In fact, in her music video of Hide and Seek, I wanted her butterfly earring. And I still do!

  • hey, can you put uplaod the song "Pocket Sun" by Imogen Heap?

  • how can you not!?!?

  • heres a better question:

How can you not listen to her?

  • "sow" haha that's so great.

  • true. her later stuff is more-how you say- "imogen" than this

still this is different and i guess i like it in a strange way

  • I finally found an Imogen Heap song I don't like. It just doesn't carry her style.

  • me to, this isn't great.

  • i'm goin to get so many thumbs down for this lol

but i don't like the way she sings in this album , she puts on a slightly american accent and i MUCH prefer the way she sings now

brill song though !! i absolutely love imogen heap !!

  • nah its true...this is very alanis-wannabe sounding. her later stuff sounds more her her own.

am not feeling this soing either

  • The tune at the beginning reminded me of GiTS ost, Lithium Flower. Very mysterious song again, I love her energy in her songs!!

    25th August, new album! XD

  • Girls used to diss me now they write letters to me cause they miss me ;)

  • With all this praise, why the heck isn't she more popular. She so deserves it.

  • iMegaphone <---Imogen Heap

    Details (with guy) <--- FrouFrou

    Speak for yourself<---Imogen Heap

  • How many albums does she have? I only own Speak for yourself... this is a whole different world musically and I'm digging it. It reminds me more of the Frou Frou stuff.

  • There's a reason her name ends in Heap...cuz she got a Heap loada uniqueness going on!

And well as for the Imogen...

she puts the "image" in "imogen..." creating a unique image for herself (minus the fact that her name is spelled differently!)

  • Imogen Heap's voice is the essence of sexuality! It's such a heady mix of power and vulnerability; so feminine, beautiful.

  • @MidnightNeverCome so shes a selfish whiny bitch..yep does sound feminine indeed

  • i love this song!

  • IMOGEN HEAP IS MY LOVER!

  • Best way to put it. :D

  • she is amazing when is the new album out

  • OMG, this souds like Lithium Flower, MAN she ROCKS!!!!

  • IMOGEN! I cant wait for her new CD!!!

    :D

  • her voice actually reminds me of alanis morissette

  • yeaa !!! and the cranberries... a bit....... it's more close to alanis tho :D <3 !!

  • no you dont, I DO! :D

  • I love this song..OMG!!!

  • Lots and lots

  • love it :D

  • quality

  • interesting..I must say I can relate...simply interesting

  • the thing that i love about imogen is that all of her songs have a message n have an emotion and passion

while i enjoy some songs better musically than others, each one is a ride of expressive proportions that makes me walk away with something new

  • She's lookin' for writers, press, bio, that sort of thing. You did a good job explaining (some of)the enigma Heap.Great last sentence.

  • wow i read through some of these comments and people are really dumb. They have no idea what they are talking about haha ... its quite amusing .. imogen heap is amazing i love her and all of her music is amazing she is incredible live and she has a great personality and a creative mind that i would never think a human being could be possible of having ... it makes me believe that there is a possibility for some great things to come to this earth.

  • I completely agree...

    Thank you for your comment!

  • She's lookin' for writers, press, bio, that sort of thing. You did a good job relaying the enigma which is Heap.

  • Is this off her new album ??? when is it out to buy ??

  • No, this is off her older album iMegaphone.

Her new album is set to release sometime this year, hopefully.

  • ... hopefully. :-)

But I'm sure it will be worth the extra time it is taking her to perfect all of the pieces on the album.

  • Indeed, it will be.

  • @Euo Is it ever not worth the time to here just one of Immy's immazing songs?

  • @ianflowforever................AGREED.

  • wow reminds me of the ghost in the shell soundtrack

  • Because the person behind that ripped this off. You're so clever!

  • You're so pretentious! :D

  • We can't all be you, Shamdeo!

  • This one time, I heard two songs that were similar, and I was like "OMG NO WAI".

  • Lmao Shamdeo. I luv you, but not as much as I love this song.

  • Yoko Kanno and Yoko Ono are different people.

  • Yeah. Yoko Kanno was the one who composed music for RahXephon...totally different from Yoko Ono.

  • Naw, it's just you.

  • i have a request, could you put 'oh me oh my' my imogen heap?that would be lovely!

  • I'll get on that.

    =)

  • thank you

  • It's up.

Sorry it took so severely long...

    Life's been hectic.

  • Thank you sooooo much!!!!

  • Wow what a cool song :D

Imogen is a very talented artist.

    She's great!!!!!

  • I first hear her Hide & Seek on one of the cop shows I watch about a month ago and really loved it. Today I found out who she is & decided to come here to YT and am I ever happy I did. She's wonderful!! Her music is so different and her voice is so very flexible clear. I can't thank YouTubers enough for the introductions I get to different musicians and singers. This is only the second song of hers I've listened to but she now has a another fan!

  • well if she has such a flexible voice, why cant i hear a word she says?

  • Must be deaf. o-o

  • If you like her try these alternative singers: Sia Furler and Emilie Autumn. and HedgeFox, I agree a little bit. The more a person "bends" the words they sing, the harder it is to listen...Euo, you don't have to be so mean about it. everyone has the right to their opinion.

  • Not really being 'mean'.

Just, the first time I heard this, I understood every word.

Yet, there are still songs I listen to where I can't understand a word the singer is trying to get out.

This one is just so obvious, and her voice reaches over her music most of the time.

Just don't see how it's possible not to hear it unless your volume is way down.

  • "We see things not as they are, but as we are." -Stephen Covey. Actually, I think HedgeFox was bashing on Imogen Heap and you didn't like it so of course you had to stand up for her. And of course you weren't trying to be mean but deep down inside you know how it sounded. -_-

  • Nice quote, but no, being rude was not my intention.

I believe you're making this a bigger deal than it is, and I usually ignore youtube drama.

    It's senseless and annoying.

  • -_- damn! you played a good card... I am dramatic. In fact, I am in Drama Club, but we call it D.C. anyway, I'll just too da loo on outta here because I don't have anything controversal to say...

  • I love this song! i can't stop listening to it

  • well XanBcoo is right. this song is from 1998 and the first time Scott Matthew - Lithium Flower appeared was i think 2002. i love lithium flower but i must say that this "origin"(i'm not sure to call it "origin",cause i think matthew didnt copy it - he was inspired by this version - in my opinion) is also very nice
