i am a big admirer of JSL, but the hawaiians, like all human cultures, has had an negative impact on the natural order of things. there are many animals and birds, probably plants that became extinct due to the polynesians arriving on the islands of hawaii.
I used to live like this when I was younger..Even though now I enjoy today's luxuries, I still miss getting hot water in a pot and taking a bath, or just sittin back and watching the birds poke at the window, nice & quiet. Something you don't get the experience in the city.
Jason, you are a truly amazing person. I miss seeing your unbelievable hotness and talent on screen, but I'm happy to see your living in harmony with nature. I know what you mean about the absence of city noise, there is no better sound that the stillness of nature. Best of luck to you. I read you recently got married...very lucky lady!
For a guy who is such a talented actor to choose such an amazingly unselfish path is truly impressive. The simplicity of his life and his seeming peace of min and happiness is something we should aspire to. In the Western world we've all been infected by materialism and consumption.
What a righteous Bradda! to pratice his culture even so he could be in a 5 star hotel or a mansion on a hill or on a big ranch. What a great person to show Hawaiians can live off the aina!!
he's right. his way of living is natural and i think its a great way 2 appreciate nature and b grateful of wat it gave u bcuz it provides wat ppl need up 2 now. jason is a great man. i shuld try 2 b natural now. dis is so inspirational
I really like this documentary. What concerns me is: we need more volenteers to help teach us and our children or information on who to contact to help us get started. And what really gonna happen to those mill areas that was cleaned out when the state or county claim it. I know Scibs is doing a good job, but maybe some of those places can be cleaned out but should be kept as a " Secret Garden " In a matter of speaking. I am looking forward to Ricks Lili'uokalani Documantery. Mahalo Nui Loa...
I love love love Jason (Scott) Lee. I totally respect the way of life he has chosen. More power to the man. But it sure wouldn't hurt my feelings if he ever decided to return to acting at some point. I miss seeing him in film. He's just such an amazing actor.
he is so cool. i love his philosophy on life. i understand why he does what he does, but i would love to see him in more movies. hes a good actor. is he hawaiin, or chinese? i know he lives in hawaii.
The cynical side of me was going to say, that's very respectful of him, but he has the money to afford to live like this. He has that backup. But, then I thought about it, any one of us, if we believed in it, we could achieve it. I think most of us have lost our way. We live amid concrete and asphalt. Our spirits are drowned by technology. And I'm sure most of us now see where consumerism has gotten us. I've strayed too far from nature. I've felt empty for too long now. And I think I know why.
This would be a really cool way to live, but the population would really have to take a slide down to allow everyone on earth to live this way. I'm also not so excited about giving up on computers...
