adikiny..agree on the use of english but not on the southern african languages - i love the Zulu, Shona combination. This is what makes southern african music so rich.
Yes Zimbabweas in general struggle, we cry becoz of a leader who has no heart, love and concern for his people. We cry becoz of a politician who is selfish and thinks of elections, polls, and not the dignity and freedom of his people. Shame becoz the sufferings are caused by black on black, these dictators in Africa. Shame on you African leaders.
This is an amazing song, especially when they drop the english as adikiny observed. Does anyone know who's singing. I can see the late great Jabu Khanyile and I can hear Oliver Mtukudzi's voice but who's everyone else, especially the lead singer at the end of the song, i reckon she's amazing, i wanna get her music.
Very nice beat. I feel it would have been much better if they had sang in only in one language instead of mixing others into it. At the beginning the lines in English wear down the song, however as they get out of it and start singing in an African Language, emotion and pride keeps up with the sweet voices and sounds. Really good song, and all the women sang superbly.
I agree that the English can be a little jarring -- but at the same time, this song carries an important message. English (or French) lyrics would expose the message to a wider audience -- both in Africa and overseas -- so it's understandable why they chose to sing in English: for the sake of sending the message as far as possible.
I would love to hear an African language version -- but I'm thankful that I heard this first, so that I could understand the message -- not just the melody.
somebody can sendme the lirics of this song please? thanks.....=D
