@OI8APC2 You have horrible taste i aircraft. Its either you not a pilot a your just an idiot. If you ask any pilot he loves the aircraft. The reason everyone likes it is because it reminds them of their favorite plane from the 80's, the starship!!!! so dont post comments on plane or flying videos unless your a pilot like me
@747Pilot100 I'll do whatever, whenever. Why? Because I can. Don't tell me what to do bitch boy. I'll bend you over my knee and spank your ass for mouthing off like that. It's a stupid looking plane and anyone who thinks otherwise is a fucking idiot.
What a beautiful airplane. With all the forward thinking design; I was pleasantly surprised to see the main gear doesn't spoil the streamlined shape of the fuselage. The MU-2J, for example has large blisters to house the gear, whereas the Piaggoio stows it cleanly. This allows the eye to sweep back and capture all the innovative design elements. Great job Piaggio~
Outstanding aircraft! The aerodynamic refinements are cutting edge and their combination delivers top of the line performance and fuel economy. There are some good articles about the Piaggio Avanti II on the web which you should read. I 'm looking forward to pilot one of these! Thank you Piaggio and Ferrari!
The Avanti can fly at up to 400 knots, and will go about 1600nm VFR and 1400 NBAA IFR. It can go essentially anywhere in North America with one stop. The Avanti will go faster than many Citations (jets), and burn much less fuel while giving the passengers much more room.
All of the new Citations except for the Mustang and the Citation Jet 1 will go faster than an Avanti. Many of the earlier straight wing Citations cannot cruise as fast as 400 knots, but recently the new ones have gotten a bit faster. The earliest Citation to have a reasonably high cruise speed (well over 400kn) was the Citation III, made all the way back in the 80s.
Yeah but those citations guzzles fuel where as the avanti sips fuel. Thats why these things are looking very sexy in todays oil and economy. Not only that the cabin of the avanti is far more comfortable.
Absoutely true that the Avanti uses less fuel than the Citations, The Avanti burns perhaps 40% less fuel than a Citation 3 for the same distance traveled. The cabin of the Avanti is as big as all but the largest business Jets (Gulfstream, Challenger, etc.), but I think many people not familiar with business jets would be quite surprised to find out just how small the cabins are. I am about 6 feet tall and I can only stand in a very few of the biggest business jets, not the Avanti though.
The Piaggio Avanti dates back to the same time frame as the Beech Starship. The Avanti is a three lifting surface aircraft while the Starship was a simple canard (two surface aircraft). The Avanti goes much faster than the starship did, and uses much less fuel than the starship. There are many reasons why the Starship failed as a product, one of them is likely that the Avanti was as futuristic but performed substantially better on less fuel, than the starship did.
Incompetence at Raytheon doomed the Starship, but that was only one problem. The cost of developing the Starhip became astronomical, there were many delays in getting the final product to the market, and in the end, the Starship over-promised, and under-delivered.
Guess I'm the odd man out with many but overall, I always liked the aesthetics of the

Citation X is the only exception to that I believe, cruise of 520 knots, and cross country range.
