@FinalBoss55 smolder dragon sword is better than Wyvern Blade(Blood) on lao shan lung. To get the items to upgrade to Smolder, you must be hunterrank 4 or above. For the firecell stones, go to Basarios: Unseen Peril(S-rank quest version) go and mine in all the necessary spots, then die three times, or kill bas. For the azure lao shan horns, break the horn of low rank az lao then repel him/ kill him. do this two more times after. Same thing for lunstra. Horn breaks come 100% in reward.

against a basarios id use either a greatsword or a spear depending on your level. as for getting the smolderdragonsword, you first need to get the fire dragon sword which wont be available until you beat lao shanlung, then upgrade to red dragonsword and final smolder. then in mhfu im certain there is another level up from smolder

to tell u the truth u dont need to get a really good weapon i killed it with my kut-ku stave II i just put it to sleep and exploded it with large barrel bombs and i also made it run into the rocks that explode :) and it worked

about the divine slasher being the strongest no your are wrong the akantor sword is the strongest in terms of shear power but haves really low sharpness the smolder dragon sword is the best longsword in the game (sorces: me i have them all.

please be aware that smolder dragon is not the strongest Longsword in Monster Hunter. the MOST strongest long sword in Monster Hunter is Divine Slasher. for bow it's Glorious Victory. for DS it's Ultimus Heaven and Earth. For sns it's Black Ruiner Sword

swordsman and when you get akantor bow you can try gunner but by that time you'll either be too good with melee or you'll have given up. anyways good luck and happy hunting :p

and ummm i would suggest something with good sharpness because it has REALLY strong armour. i WOULD'NT go for a lance because you will get know were i promise you. it will pwn u lol

I would take either a very strong hammer, so you can charge attack and hit and run skill.

or dual swords, but be carful because you dnt have block of course.

i would SHOCK trap it and use large bomb + It's powerful.

just hit the rathalos wings and they will breck. you will get sum at the end or wen you carve maybe.

Rathian plate is a lot harder...

kill G rank rathian and cut tail of.

you cnt cut tail of with bow or hammer so make sure you have a sword of sum sort lol

Hammers are a great weapon. There is no "worst weapon" All weapons are useful in different situations. Hammers are great for doing lots of damage in one hit in short opportune moments.
