I don't understand ROSE. IF she knew who she loved most and kissed him already, why go on the ruse. For sure it wasn't for her family really...otherwise her sister wouldn't end up w/ no one and simon would actually get a chance to fall for cass.
I never knew there was a movie till now. I read the book a few years ago and fell in love with the story. Cassandra and I have the same personality, I could really relate to her lol.
@starryblue1994 She doesn't end up with anyone at the end; she chooses to be alone. That's one of the things I love about this book (and film); it's so bittersweet and more realistic for it. It's fun to imagine what might happen to all the characters after the story is over though!
wow I never knew there was a movie... I bought the book monthes ago but I still haven't really read through it. I guess i couldn't get through the first few pages. This trailer makes me want to read it :D
@Misty15big yeah, it is a very slow build. It took several months after I initially bought it to start reading it (I read a few pages then stopped) but after I got through the first two chapters, I found myself intrigued. I couldn't put it down. You've probably finished the book by now and if you haven't you really should read it. In any case I hope(d) you like(d) it.
@foreverkate That's Henry Cavill, he's been in the Tudors and some other things I think! Actually I really liked the movie, it wasn't perfect but most of the casting was really good and I loved Romola Garai as Cassandra. I agree though, the book is magnificent in every way!
I hope you do both! I recommend reading the book first. The film is pretty good, but the book is first person and you really feel like you know Cassandra when you're reading it, it's amazing.
Lovewarpeace, you obviously haven't seen Romola in Daniel Deronda (such an amazing miniseries) or Angel. In those she is the far opposite of plain, playing vain social climbers. This is the first plain role I've seen her in (I haven't seen Atonement yet)
This is SO much better than the US version! Thankyou for posting this, I hadn't seen the UK trailer before. It actually gives you a sense of what the film is really like: beautiful, funny and tender. The US version made it seem entirely different. My only complaint is that they don't give you a sense of the father's story & don't put in any of Bill Nigh's excellent performance
No problem, I'm glad you liked it! :] It's definitely a lot truer to the film than the US version, but yeah I wished they'd included Bill Nighy's character too.

book much better than film. Very twee though and infuriatingly toffy nosed.

Guy who plays Stephen is HOT. Must Google.
Other than that, this production looks shameful compared to the book, which is magnificent in every way.

The book is great, I'll have to find the movie somewhere because this trailer looks pretty good although it's not my type of movie at all.

The film is pretty good, well cast and some really nice scenes. It's not as good as the book, but few adaptations are!

I look almost exactly like Romola... depressing that she is always the plain girl in films though...
she's an amazing actress =)
