For shure i can copy and paste "regions" of control data easy in ableton live. But normally i do it inside the track and don´t create another track only for the control data (min 2:10). By trying to do so, while watching your video, i failed.... i can record the audio in another track or route the output to another track, but i couldn´t control another tracks automation. Hm...am i to blind to see, or is this a difference in how the software works?
Yes, this technique is only available in Logic. This is why i like the software so much. I can have a bunch of those "tweeking funky stutter cutting automating regions" copy them to every track wherever i want the effect to happen and boom i'm ready. It's much easier than in Live. ;)
But you can do it with reason or cubase too. And the only difference in live is, that you do it in the same lane.... (i do it regulary and find it very handy) and for shure you can copy your automation also to another track/instrument.
Sure, you can. But it's far easier just having all those automation regions somewhere in a file and copy them to wherever you want.
It's really better because you can do cut and paste whenever you want. You don't have to take care of any data that might be IN the region (like note values and such).
very helpful!! thanks! any other how to's that are handy for electronic music production would be awesome..
