There has never been any artist, ever in my opinion, who so beautifully combined intellectually challenging lyrics with such glorious, accessible melody. It seems that anyone who is a Joni fan feels that her music personally impacted their lives in a profound way (me being one of them). I think that's such a great testament to her talent. This woman kept me alive in high school, no joke.
