Connecting the hose of your shop-vac to its back exhaust at full power also does the trick as long as there is not much lint accumulated. In that case you will need to loosen it with a flexible long brush that is sold for that purpose, and then apply the shop-vac. Repeat es needed.
Good idea, I have a serious shop vac and may put it on blow and hit mine once like this. I do want to replace the "flexible hose" with the solid aluminum tube.
Sure, this is definitely better than not cleaning the duct at all.
However, as RSRNV has pointed out, dryer ducts of any considerable length, or those badly compacted with dryer lint (Or if you just want to make sure you're having the job done right) are better off being cleaned by a professional.
U really don't need a pro....a leaf blower works (but only partly) I know this cuz I used a leaf blower for years and ended up buying this lint eater that is designed to hook to a cordless drill and even after using the leaf blower, massive amounts of lint still came out, I then followed by using the leaf blower after using the lint eater thing and it worked great. If you're careful and follow instructions, it's really easy and takes no time.....Leaf blower is 2nd best though
WOW that great, it works, execpt maybe if you have a bad joint --- it may be in the wall, or somewhere else, - it works great if you have one piece tube. I will try this I just got a new leaf blower. Tim Allen would loves this.
Good advice everyone. Our vent is about 8-10ft long and has sharp curves so we couldn't get a vent snake very far. We will try our best to watch for clogging and build-up.
That is great if you have a 2 ft vent. This will not work if you have old lint, or any kind of obstruction in the vent. Be careful doing this yourself as it is a major fire hazard.
use a rotary brush and or long bendable rod to dislodge some of the hard lint, along with the blower or vacuum

Lint is moist and so sticks to vent walls and builds up like papier mache' so u may want to consider reaming with a 4" stainless steel chimney brush!

Forget the dryer as much as possible and use a clothesline. Clotheslines haven't been known to burn down houses.

@beltrams Yeah, but dryers work when its raining and birds don't tend to crap on them :) LOL!

If I did this is keep the blower running till no more lint comes out and maybe bang on the vent pipe a few times if you have access to it.
