  • The credit says Petty and Holly wrote this song. This is inaccurate. This was actually written by Buddy Holly, his drummer Jerry Allison and secretly along with his mother. His mother did not want credit since she was a devout Christian and did not want to be tangled in rock 'n' roll at this time. Howard Petty is a thief and never wrote any songs with Holly. He just wanted credited in exchange for Holly using his studio. Petty is a scum bag and probably roasting in hell now for being so greedy

  • I just seen the play Buddy last evening it was awesome I'm 35yrs old and that era of music is unreal to quick for a great musician/song writer

  • i think they should make it a law that musicians can't get on small charter planes..

  • buddy holly can walk over s club 7 at any day of the week

  • it's quite a shame that he died in a plane crash. i wish that was S Club.

  • A used to love watching the records spin round the needle getting into the groove when I was a kid, brings back old memories.

  • Didn't they play this on The Ed Sullivan Show?

  • @rhall4th Thats correct they certainly did

  • @rhall4th no, they did "that'll be the day" on their first appearance and then "peggy sue" on the second. The buddy holly story said they did but they did not!

  • R.I.P. Buddy Holly

  • Long live rock and roll!

  • The 78 format had to be the best sounding of all the vinyl's. Thank you for sharing this gem.

  • Top half of yet another killer double A-sider! I've gotta say it, Liz your musical taste is impeccable (that means very good)!
