Zoro had his own dream. He also made a promise that kept him going. But he was willing to give up his dream and forget that promise in order to protect his captain's dream Zoro is not only admirable for his strength and dedication to grow stronger, but also for his loyalty to his captain - Luffy. Also, remember when Zoro took a beating along with Luffy when Luffy told him not to fight back? And later in the manga, Zoro throws away his pride and bows down his head to a swords master for luffy:(

@EveryDayCosplay I don't know the exact episode, but roughly 376. I can find out for certain if you REALLY want. Can also tell you where to watch them for free (In japanese with subtitles, or english with okay-ish dub). They had just defeated Moria and gotten their shadows back.
