I don't know why all the fuss...comments for or against. Second Life..is merely a social chat medium set in a virtual 3D online world. The behavior within is like it is on the outside...in the physical world. It all depends on the individual. If you are into sex in a perverse way..then that's what you are going to mess with in SL but that's not for me. The pixels just don't do it.
If you are into art work in 3D stuff then its quite a nice place to build. There is no end to what you can achieve.
Just to be clear, there are ONLY 6 things to do in Second Life:
... education, demonstration, building, chatting, griefing, or being a perv. There was a 7th for a while, it was 'organizational representation and corporate sales'... but it pretty much failed.

The only way someone whould not get addicted to it is maybe a few hours a week (like 2) the longer you play the game, the more rl becomes distorted. So if you have to play this game at all, play it sparringly, as well as any other game that makes you confuse REAL reality.

I love second life I have friends and virtual family and I love to DJ and hang out, I do however hate when the servers go down with no warning lol. Its fun to build and decorate and have nice virtual items even the virtual sunsets and such are pretty nice, for a game the sunsets and sunrises are amazing.
You don't need paypal to create an account. Just an e-mail address. Payment info like a paypal account or credit card is only needed if you want to create a premium account. For a basic account you don't need that, and you have access to everything in SL just like premium account holders.

I love second life I have friends and virtual family and I love to DJ and hang out, I do however hate when the servers go down with no warning lol. Its fun to build and decorate and have nice virtual items even the virtual sunsets and such are pretty nice, for a game the sunsets and sunrises are amazing.

It's not a game.
You don't need paypal to create an account. Just an e-mail address. Payment info like a paypal account or credit card is only needed if you want to create a premium account. For a basic account you don't need that, and you have access to everything in SL just like premium account holders.

@thelaughingmonkey....People spend great many hours in online chat rooms, forums etc, and also spend huge amount of time communicating with others online.... Second Life is another way to connect and communicate, but far...far better than staring at some 2D Chat Room panel.
Mostly, Second Life is only suitable for those who enjoy chatting with others and making new friends though,..sorry.
