  • :24, the eruption of excitement! These two are fantastic. Love it.

  • girl deep thoating bottle at 4:14 lol. nice vid btw.

  • @DripshiZL rotfl! nice catch dude! hahahahahahahahahahaa

  • Larry said he played with Hendrix at Woodstock. Does anybody know which song(s) that it was??!

  • Who is that lady? Tell her too shut up! Jesus Christ, she's so rude and those people are so loud! Show some respect! This man is trying to interview "Larry Graham" not his "wife" or "main squeeze" or whoever she is. I found this interview to be so offensive. No joke, I had to recollect who Larry Graham was because he's so old school and guess who inquired about him. ..MARKLOWE! I wouldn't even know this guy excisted if it wasn't for him. What a class act. You can't even approach the guy.

  • Great interview... Marlowe I have visited your site often.. Good stuff!!

  • play bass now ....dot coooooom :D

  • LOL Drake's uncle!

  • So, should we stop practicing and warming up now too? :)

  • All googly eyed. Makes me smile.

  • Brilliant! You did a great job interviewing! He seemed a little uneasy at first but then he warmed up and gave you a lot. Thanks so much!

  • I just saw an article in the New York Post say that Sly Stone was broke and living in a van. If it's true, what kind of world are we living in that could allow that to happen?.

  • thats so cool man damn u are one lucky man marlowe haha i even got excited at the end.. great interview best wishes.

  • Hi Marlowe, this video is awesome!!! you must have been so happy to interview the legend... btw I subscribe to your channel ;) you are the biggest thing on youtube bass, all credit to you.

  • Dude, Mr. Graham still looks young. There's no wrinkles at all, he looks like when i was forty but with glasses. Must be the funkin' powers keeping him young, or something. Or maybe I just need to fetch my glasses.

  • @jagheterzack You know what they say...

  • @jagheterzack black dont crack

  • the man credited with inventing slap bass, the one thing we humble bass players always have to shut up the guitarists

  • @containsletteratoz How do ya get a loud guitar player to turn down?;put a chart in front of him LOL!

  • SPANISH SUB NOW!!!!!!!!!

  • POW!!! Lmao. Got a little excited there eh... Lol. I would too if a legend like him knew of me. As good as you are though, I'm not surprised one bit.

  • oh my god your lucky!!! how can i lower the action on my bass?? im kind of a noob when it comes to tech so id really appreciate your input.

  • POW! :D

  • I AM HIGHLY JEALOUS OF YOU!

  • Very enjoyable video, Thomas! Thanks for all you do!

  • Woow i'm so proud of you MarloweDK !!! you are such a great source of motivation and inspiration for me. Greetings from Canada.

  • Congrats

  • LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS!!!!!! Marlowe, thanks for sharing this awesome experience with your fans and the fans of the living legend, Larry Graham!

  • Zoom Q3HD ftw,..

  • How awesome for you! We all benefit from your efforts, Marlowe! Keep on doin' what you do! (noticed you're sportin' the Zappa sticks, too. A tribute?)

  • Congrats Marlowedk I am so profoundly hyped for you! This clip is evidence that if you pour your soul and passion into what you believe - you can DRAW your dreams into reality - a GREAT lesson for all of us who have greatly benefited from your capacity to SHARE your passion. Thanx for SHARING this clip, too!! :-)

  • omg the things i'd give to even sit next to Mr. Graham at a table lol

  • Thomas - so happy you got to interview your idol. You deserve it, and you do an amazing service for the bass-playing community. Thanks for all you do!

  • Wow! Larry seems like a really cool, and humble, down to earth guy for being such a bass mogul! Thanks for uploading this. Fun!

  • I loved how Marlowe lost control of his recorder when Larry Graham told him " I was actually telling them about you!" . A beautiful moment caught on video camera.

  • Comment removed

  • That would be bad ass if you would one day interview mr John Paul Jones or Victor Wooten. But Larry Graham is still a bad mutha.

  • Wow! I wanna ask Larry stuff...congratz!

  • MarloweDK, you're really doing good work for bass and for bass players. It's good to be a great player and have a hit website -- but you've got the class to appreciate the players who've gone before. I admire you and thank you!

  • Interesting interview. I went to see him in San Carlos California with Graham Central Station as the opening act for The Crusaders. Two of my favorite guitarist at the time, Larry Carlton(Crusaders) and Hershal Happiness(GCS). I went to see Clarence Gatemouth Brown at San Jose State in the early 80's. I thought to myself that Larry and Clarence were very similar in approach to the instrument. Now I know why

  • Great job m8! Nice and funny guy he is ;)

  • every music journalist should be well informed and ask relevant questions like you!

  • haha fantastic ! Congrats !

  • :D Congrats Marlowe! What a feeling it would have been!!

  • Haha, the ending was brilliant. What a cool guy.

  • Graham Central Station is the shit!

  • larry graham is the man, first bass player to bring the thumbing

  • @MarloweDK for me if I liked your interview, please share it also saw the other videos, playing with Larry, excellent .GBU! :)

  • 2 dislikes? Obviously those two people are absolute fucktards.

    Thanks MarloweDK - great interview!

  • Such a great video! Obviously a very emotional moment for you...the interview is such a pleasure to watch. Did you grow the disco 'stache for the occasion?

  • Very nice interview with Larry Graham. Thank you for posting.

  • That was great! Congratulations MDK!!!

  • Awesome!

  • Suppose this is a dream come true. I'm happy for you and thanks for the interview. So full of good stuff.

    Thanks again, Tom.

  • Larry Graham is a very classy guy! Nice work DK

  • Marlowe...sorry but I'd like to ask something thats has nothing to do with bass (but plz, answer anyway asap ;] tks): Is racism present in Denmark, I mean from danish citizens? (not from all of them of course).

    thanks.

And I think we are ALL PROUD OF YOU!

    Keep rocking, bo ;]!

  • @paleceumacolneta Yes we do have kind of racism against immigrants here - there exists a rightwing party for the scared and uneducated mostly from rural areas - go figure.

  • @MarloweDK Thank you so much for the answer and sorry for anything!

Congrats for the interview, btw =]

  • Yea, Thomas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @paleceumacolneta What is your definition of racism? Most Americans that I speak with do not go out of their way to hate people in general. What most Americans do hate is what people do!!! Crimes perpetrated by certain ethnic groups plus their laziness do not help the cause of accepting certain cultures in America let alone in the world.Alot of people throw around the racist conotation and really do not know understand the truth of what is in people's hearts.

  • @GalaxyDaveD I don't mean to be rude but, firstly, I'm not interested in what North-Americans think about it, and, sorry but...are you presuming that I don't know what racism is?

And racism is the stupid fact that some people think that they are better because of their bloodline, culture and some other factors.

And I don't know to wich ethnies you're refering to.

But why are you asking me anyways...?

  • 2 gods of bass...man what a blow!!

  • Good for you MarloweDK! I hope, one day, to meet Les Claypool. I got to meet Norwood Fisher and he was very nice and very patient with me. Looks like Larry is a good guy.

  • i dont know why but i feel so proud of you marloweDK!!

  • What going on in the background!? what the heck did he say? I wanna know what was so funny and said during the interview lol

  • @CommBreakDown bitterview...

  • he looks incredible for his age !!! what a legend !! love how laid back the enviorment is in the video.

  • Amazing! The story about "Okie Dokie Stomp" is wonderful! Clarence was the real deal and I was lucky enough to meet him...he was a favorite of so many including Keith Richards and Eric Clapton among many others. What a privilege for you...proof that great things happen when you believe in the power of music!

  • Dude, you look like you were about to shit your pants.

  • You seem genuinely Star Struck! It's always nice for someone to meet their "Hero"!

  • /watch?v=cq6GjfPkewc

hello MaerloweDK, I am Brazilian and I follow her videos, look at my video with my students and comment, thanks

  • absolute legend...marloweDK I mean :)

  • I LIKE U MORE THEN..........................

  • Dette er helt utrolig :D Dette er som jeg skulle møtt Benny Goodman, bare han hadde vært en zombie nå xD

  • Hey Marlowedk, i have something very important to tell you: I might be hallucinating, but I'm pretty sure I heard your voice in a Chemical brothers song, they might have sampled your voice! The track is

Chemical Brothers - The Devil is in the beats

I'm pretty sure it's your voice in it. Tell me what you think. I recognize your voice.

  • @chillraph I dont think so:-D

  • @chillraph ok, you re so right, it's definitely him, don't believe what he's sayin!

  • @chillraph Just heard that track - there is a guy talking in the start with a german accent, not me, I talk with a VERY danish accent;-)

  • @MarloweDK hahah ok, because i heard it many many times and i thought it sounded just like you. great interview with Larry Graham btw

  • @MarloweDK Oh, your accent is so german!! :)) I always think of that when I hear you talking, because I had a german history professor in university :)

  • epic!

  • A woman sitting at the same table as Larry Graham asked for your autograph. Have you ever felt more famous?

  • Larry Graham freakin' rules....this is awesome!

  • Excellent job, Marlowe

  • why is this video black n white? well its f*cking history bitch

  • oooooppppppppssssss Marlow almost drop that mic. haahahaahahahahaahahahahah Well you just made me laugh Marlow I could tell you was very nervous.

  • BIG UP'S TOO YOU!!!

  • Awesome :)

  • goud

  • good damn interview. made him spill loads of words

  • that handshake at 0:07 created a warp hole in the bass world funk continuum bringing two of the world's best bassists. DAMN, marlowe. DAMN, larry. gimme some of your skillllzzzz.

  • not enough room in that dining area for such talented musicians! A Legend and a soon to be legend

  • great interview MDK!

  • I always see a tendency with musician brides or girlfriends to act as if she is part of the band or the musicians herself; for one example, when Larry is asked if HE practices before a show, she is the first to dismiss the thought. So so silly lol

  • @seventhCrucifix Funny.

  • You lucky bastard!

  • You truly deserved meeting Larry Graham and getting the chance to interview him. Congratulations Marlowe! I'm sure you now have even more motivation than before to post new videos, because now you know that Larry Graham watches it! Anyhow, I hope that you keep posting awesome videos!

  • How freakin' sweet is that, Marlowe. You get to meet the man, someone you clearly admire and respect, and he turns out to be a complete gentleman. He's even watched your stuff here on youtube. Congrats! You deserve it!

  • Thomas, I was aware of funk before I found your youtube videos. Your play alongs however spotlighted the amazing work of the classic players for me. Your passion for the music the tones and the equipment used to create this music started a journey for me that has taken me from a bedroom player to a band member. Thank yo so much for providing this interview for us, your fans.

Your passion for the music has changed the lives of many of us for the better.

  • Amazing and inspirational video!

  • That was a fun group. I saw Larry at Yoshi's in Berkeley around '96. He is on of my favorite bass players, along with Bootsy and Billy Cox. Tina is one in a million. Marlowe this was fantastic- a real musician interviewing a real musician, asking serious questions about music. Better than Letterman and Leno. I wish it was longer!! Thanks for posting, stretchin' out, and spreading funk all across the land!!!

  • We can blame the slap, pop and thump on Larry. THE ORIGINATOR.

  • Could not be more happy for you, congratulations!
