i'm 13 and a brown belt sixteenth mon. thanks for this video its excellent and a throw ive never seen before im looking forward to trying it the next time im fighting. are there any specific tips for this throw?
I'm a yellow belt and I have a lot of difficulties with hip throws in randori as well. It doesn't feel the same as doing uchi komi. It sure takes a lot of practice.
What I've figured soo far is this:
- the kuzushi is more important than anything else. If you can offbalance the guy, he may fall even if your throwing technique is not that good. If you forget about the kuzushi, most likely you will fall towards your oponent;
It's been like 5 months since you wrote but anyways...maybe you're a orange belt now or still in yellow belt. First, you will find by trial and error what techniques do you prefer. I like hip throws and leg throws. Second, it's true when you say that one important thing is the kuzushi. Remember to PULL or PUSH depending on the technique. I'm a gren belt and I still have problems with pulling and pushing in randori.
So my advice is, keep practicing, if you have money invest in some useful books
Thanks for the attention dude. I`m still a yellow belt. I had to stop practicing for two months cause I broke a finger in a BJJ fight (I`m a white belt in BJJ). I`ll probably get my judo orange belt in november.
The good knews is my hip throws have improved a lot since then and when I focus I do have good kuzushi. I`ve never been able to pull of a sode tsuri komi goshi in randori yet, but I`ll get there.
I like videos better than books. Have you watched Koga`s and Yakimov`s videos? Godd stuff.
I bought the Koga and Yakimov's dvd last year. Terrific dvd's!! I've learn a lot with them. Also, Inoue will have his own 3 dvd's this November. Tsuri Komi Gosgi is hard to land on randori, very hard. A friend of mine caught me once with it but I was sloppy...so I got thrown to the tatami. With time, patience and guidance you will find soon your tokui waza. i don't have one yet but in randori I've caught people with counter attacks, leg attacks and uchi mata.
k it is either because you are turning your upper chest instead of your waist you have to turn the weight with your hips and not you upper chest and allot of white belts do that mistake hope i helped you a liltle..
chu gaeshi. techniques found in real martial arts not games. slapping the ground breaks your arms. try doing this technique the way it was meant to be done and you'll realize the proper ukemi
You beak the fall by releasing the high-raised arm of your partner right when you are throwing him over the small of your back. This allows him to break-fall and slap the mat with his left hand.
