The snow might still be around. There's still loads today (22nd) and it's not started to melt. Roads are fine to Pickering and Grosmont.

great vid 5*. what is happerning with the services now due the bridge being closed. how do they operate the services?

The engines running from Pickering still go up light engine from Grosmont on a morning but this will probably stop very soon. Thereafter the Pickering engines will be based at Newbridge and those running to Whitby and Battersby will be based at Grosmont. Full details are given in the NYMR timetable on their site.

It's getting out of Grosmont which is usually the problem. Although Saltergate Bank was probably bad this morning.

look amazing, sadly I had to cancel my cleaning turn, would have been going tomorrow but it's just too risky as we keep getting snow here in the Yorkshire Dales

The roads were OK on Saturday but quite bad this morning (Sunday), but had no problems getting to Grosmont from the North and down Egton Bank. However, getting out of Grosmont was more difficult. Got stuck having to pull over for a 4WD and had to use the trusty shovel and the strategically placed grit, but was soon moving again. The bank out of Grosmont, towards Pickering, was bad this morning but they got it cleared by lunchtime. Well worth the effort to get there though.

Trouble is I have 70miles to come, and live in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.

Got stuck almost trying to get from one village to another this evening, we are getting both snow from the East and the West.

I'm down for cleaning on 3rd Jan though
