yeah,I think autotune sounds good on chourus, hook but not on whole song, and yeah they got to be creative using it,not just singing, why don't anyone actually trying rapping with autotune, all I hear is people singing with it.
And another thing. Why everybody's comments knockin a nigga (rappers/singers in general) for wanting to floss on a track?
Not sayin you should fill a whole CD with material talk but lets face it...that's what the hip hop culture embraces...I'm better (in all aspects of life). Even BIG referred to his Coogi, Bentley or whatever on 10/12 songs. All of a sudden now that niggas CAN'T rap or that's all they rap about...It's an issue. Ya'll should have been yellin that when "Ready to Die" came.
I don't care what ya'll say. T Pain invented that shit himself. See what people don't know is that Roger Troutman used to be a doctor....this was a long long long long time ago.
Anyways. He was in the room when Pain was on the ultrasound. And when they put that thing on his mom's stomach...what they hear was REAL MUSIC. Surely that's where Troutman got his "Epiphany."
After that--they made drinks...to drink...and drunk'em (and got drunk).
music technology. this is the future. autotune, computers and 5 minute beats.
hip hop started back in the 70's, nearly 40 yrs. later. who said it was gonna stay the same with the same equipment and studio effects. my only gripe is with these mc's not being original and innovative anymore. this technology can be very useful only if we begin to use our imaginations again. hip hop is ready to be taken to the next level but no one is doing it!!!!
Much respect my man. It seems more artists out there are trying to follow trends instead of bein original. That is what I can say today. Back in the 80's and 90's it was all original and cats did it for the love and the feeling not strait for the money. People seem to forget man makes the money not money makes the man. And another thing we need to clear up the awards shows. There should be the HIP-POP, BLING RAP, and then TRUE HIP HOP awards. Peace.
Great video man. I totally agree with all your points here. The mainstream world is being swallowed by big money record labels... It's that simple.
If you want real hip hop you gotta look to the people who market themselves and control their own music; KRS, Buckshot, Immortal Technique, Final Outlaw, etc.
