  • Daaaamn.....I 4got all about this classic shit!!! Aww maaan this was my shit!!! This came out in my high skool yearz! I'm glad I got to experience shit like this! I feel fortunate!

  • 1995... I was born, sound like a drum roll, that pete rock has used at the very beginning

  • 1995, Pffff..... Classic hip hop.

  • Been a long time since I seen this video, holy shit!!!

  • Anyone know the intro sample? or is it just something they made for this one song?? money money money money, I get money

  • look at Crazy legs...

  • what were they thinking calling themselves BUMS? I know its well-meaning acronym and all that, but its hard to take a group serious when they callin themselves that. They played themselves.

  • @flipgood89 Gotta remember that this is when you didn't have to be on some super flashy sh*t. Honest and real rappers were the majority in the 90's.

  • i was 10 yrs old rushing home everyday to do my homework while watching rap city... can't it be that is was all so simple...

  • 50 cents a biter

  • The first time I heard this wonderful track, DJ Premier broke it down on WBLS in 1995. Just lovely.

  • Hip Hop PLEASE come back

  • @songotenz02 MF DOOM, JAY ELECTRONICA, EARL SWEATSHIRT, TYLER THE CREATOR. HIP HOP HAS NEVER LEFT. IT STILL LIVES.

  • easily one of the most slept on albums in hip hop history. every track is gold, just like alot of the l.p.'s that came out between 83 & oh, let's say 98. fuckin empty-v bullshit these days.... the wack eyed cheese, lili waynus, soulja toy, drake the fake, etc. , all that shit is hip pop or pop hop or whatever.

  • I'll give 50 bucks to anyone that can name all the cameos in this video singing the hook

  • seems to be def one of the more used samples out there

I read here audio two and even newtimers like 50 (never heard it though),

but I can add one more from the same release year as bums:

Keith Murray - Get Lifted (Erick Sermon Remix) (1995)

    watch?v=1rwTLf444Z0

Green eyed bandit version may be a bit more repetitive,

but Keith def got his shine on.

  • i wish i was around 25 now im 14 atmo and just want to grow up listening to this and on the radio hearing this stuff not like chipmunk :(

  • i take tracks of coal and compress 'em into a diamond

  • Gotta love the Golden Age! You don't hear anybody sampling the greats like Teddy Pendergrass anymore. Ohhh "Close the Door" haha

  • True hip-hop art! Breathe this in........

  • My folks D'Angelo and Evol! 510 representin'

  • Ah man i was in the 9th grade for this, i miss these days, where the heart of hiphop go, hard as hell to find quality like this, shout out to 1996 my favourite year, bless

  • 1:50 Xzibit

  • Crazy Legs was tite at the end!

  • @zulub no way these cats were from the West coast.....

  • i aways like how the BAY area gets down

  • one of the smoothest tracks.

  • Super-cali-fraga-listic-extra-dope-a-licious!!!!!!

  • 1995: When hip hop, actually most music, was just SO much better....I would give my right arm to be back in that era...

  • 3lw jacked this!

  • Yeeaah!

  • this is my dad nd ma uncle no friggin lie

  • DE WUEVOSSSSSSS

  • yeah real hiphop saluds des de south american argentina

  • hey 0:18 is the beat of 50 cent

  • @vebra92 --actually its not 50 cent at all..heres a lil history lesson...the song is actually from audio top billin

  • @vebra92 wow your young^^

  • I remember when a mixed sample cassette found its way into my hands and this was on it. I had to run out and buy the album. B.U.M.S. album was tight from the beginning of side one to the end of side 2. Hip Hop today is lack luster and is in need of an overhaul and a Renaissance period. "When all rappers participate its fate for rap to elevate." What happened to that?

  • @Cr00klynD0dger Don't worry bro , i have a dream to bring Classic Hip-Hop Back , im gunna do that threw my music , all 90's beats all day , back to when talent was everywhere

  • Sounds like these and the whole Real Live Lp are timeless. real jazz/ hip hop essence.

  • greeaaaaat

  • greeaaaaat

  • man 1995 Bosnia we didn't even have electricity bu we managed to tape yo mtv raps somehow and watch it when power comes on after weeks without ...this was a medicine

  • '92 - '97...peak Hip Hop...

What freaking groovy beat is at the end...??

  • Aawww 90s hip hop. You are missed

  • i bought this cd on a whim back in the summer before 9th grade and still have it after 15 years. i just downloaded the songs i like off itunes. My favorites are Wreck your ears, Lyfe n Tyme, and Let the music take your mind, among others. Westcoast smack is a funny track also

  • Yo these niggas could rap, they have an excellent rhyme scheme and technique. This isn't an easy beat to rap to most would rap slow as hell on this beat. But they rode the beat quite nice. And put alot of words together and managed to stay on beat.

  • classic !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • damn...mad memories with this track.

  • damn i remember recording this video on a tape from Rap City. i was in 8th or 9th grade.

  • Damn the good ol days in '95 I was 14 wit out a care in da world

When rappers actually spit some real shit that I could relate to. Not the flashy shit I could never afford. Thank you for this.

  • when hip hop was GOLD !

  • ical, 50 got it from audio two "top billin", early gangster cut. i like this and early schooly d

  • This is Oh So Dope! Treal talk I've been wanting to see this vid for years. I kept remembering Crazy Leggs Breaking over that Break Beat! Stuck in my head the B.U.M. Ill Flows & Hardcore Mic Skillz. This is a Old New Fav.! This is Hip Hop not that stuff on Pop Radio! I had to say that! Peace & Blessings from Down South ADJNS/

  • So that's where 50 got the sample from "I get money"

  • @IrriplaceiCal nah this song and 50 both got it from Audio Two's - Top Billin

  • this group is outstanding,

    Freeing my mind right now!!

  • These guys and World Renown should form a super-group-The Slept-Ons.LOL

  • One Love Teddy Pendergrass. R.I.P.

  • Used to have this song on my i pod's top 25 most played. Teddy's "close the door" had a real smooth instrumental that could make any song that sampled it good.

  • Didn't Mary J. Blidge sample "Close the Door" to? Some song on her "My Life" album.

  • wow u took it back with this 1, I had this album.

  • I had this album, the end of video has a hot sample.

  • @MIXEDMADNESS ... Yup man... Me too. Sophmore year... All sorts of ill shit to listen to. Spending the whole summer just chilling and bumping my walkman.

  • @MIXEDMADNESS ...Word.

  • v For real. I'm 15 and I can't go an hour without listening to stuff like this. I wish I was born 30 years ago when all of this began and developed, not when it fades out. :(

  • @9thwonderisking its up to young people like you to keep it alive.

  • @9thwonderisking i feel bad you couldnt be a part of it back then, my man. you're mission is to carry the torch. make it last and school the masses.

  • @9thwonderisking me and you both

  • @9thwonderisking thank god im not the only one then!

  • @9thwonderisking i feel u kid.im 17

  • @iNestor93 lol drugs

  • @9thwonderisking you could've been boon 15 years ago and experienced it like I did. I was a teen during the golden ers. I got alot of new artist that u should check out. Underground. and check me out too. let me know if inerested.

  • @9thwonderisking....... Trust me it only fades out when the song ends ....& that's what repeat is for! This music is timeless & HipHop lives inside of all who have a true passion for the culture.

  • @9thwonderisking im the same man. im 22 now but damn i wish i was this age back in 94'. its not fair!!! rap now is awful!

  • @themicmash when that song was out I was 21 in college. Every week great songs came out back then.....

  • still awesome shit!!!!!!!!!!

  • The B.U.M.S. are so great! I love this crew...

The whole album is fuckin' dope man!

  • come here baby!!!!!

  • they had incredible production.. good flows

  • DOPE

    very underrated hiphop

THIS IS REAL HIPHOP AT ITS BEST.

  • YOOOO! I remeber the B.U.M.s DayUm! I miss the 90's HiP-HoP! They keep the Knowledge on a cycle rotation an true.U had ya Hardcore hip-hop, had the conscious hip-hop, Party/chill hip-hop. the Emcee/lyircal hiphop. man we was on point back then.. the 90's where the genisis Of RAP.. Now I don't know Wat the fuck we got out here... but it ain't Hip-Hop

  • ' I get money' Hmm, I wonder where ive heard that loop from.

50 Cent, I get money by anychance. lol.

Just shows you how samplers get there stuff.

    Nice tune anyway.

  • its from group audio two''....milk dee's voice ''i get money''

  • its from audio two, the rapper name is Milk D and the song is called "Top Billin"

  • instrumental!!! where can I cop that???

  • Classic and amaaaaaazing album!

  • Lol I remember these niggaz, this was the joint

  • I got to see these cats perform live in L A in 95. Two dudes started fighting, I think it was Evol, jumped off the stage between them and kept rapping. Broke up a fight and embedded a memory in my mind forever.

  • Big Daddy Kane also used this beat for "In the PJs"

  • Looks like their company gave them a nice budget for their 2 videos. Too bad it didn't sell. The 4 chicks in the video are the original Jazzyfatnastees. The big guy with the dreads looks familiar. Kinda looks like Craig G?

  • Does Anyone have a album of this or how can I down load it?? Don't say Limewire LOL!!!

  • This is good MCing. Back in the days, MCs gave good hand gestures which helped illustrate the points they were making. I think that is something that has become lost over time in hip hop.

  • Crazy Legs rips it at the end.

  • NICE! I REMEMBER THE ALBUM. IT WAS DOPE

  • some of the instrumental sounds like some of big l's mvp summer smooth remix

    especially the trombone

  • shout ta the real northern cali hip hop scene.. dis was ma shit yo..

  • found out about this track when i heard it on entourage... tight trizack

  • real hip hop this is what's been missing

  • this brings back memories when hip hop was real!

  • I forgot about the intro and the breakdancing at the end of the video.

  • I had this on a single's tape back in the day. I have been looking for this track for a long time. Thanks to who put this on, somebody knows about classic shit

  • This was THE shit. Golden age of hip hop in the early 90s. Brings back memories.....

  • lol u trying to be like realhiphopsucks i know its a joke

  • It's kinda sad but I remember buying the album on the strength of this one song, only to find the rest of the album as weak. There's this one song where the taller artist featured rhymes about a typical day in his life and it involved smoking so much weed tthat it wasn't even funny or entertaining. (Sorry, can't remember the song title).

So, with those west coast cameos (Ras Kass, Ahmad, Xzibit, etc.) did that make 'em west coast? Their style seemed more east coast.

  • yo your right they seem eastcoast

  • AH man. Great selection

  • love it<3 also made the scene where turtle drives away from rufus' daughter, in entourage, very smooth

  • Man I have searched high and low to hear this joint again, thanks for this 1!

  • classic gem

  • Why couldn't hip hop have stayed like this?

  • this is one of the rarest joints i can think of. it was hot when it came out and it's still dope today.
