  • Waylon.... I just gotta tell ya, you are missed everyday... I hope your in heaven playing and singing for everyone!

  • what a cool guy, rip

  • MISS YOU WAYLON...LOVED THE SOUND YOU CREATED....YOUR SONGS WERE AND STILL ARE TOPS!!!

  • There are younger folks out there doing real country... Wayne Hancock, Elizabeth Cook, Justin Townes Earle (first album- some of his stuff leans more early rock/rockabilly), are some names to check out in addition to Hank III.

More mainstream, Pistol Annies (new Miranda Lambert project) and Jamey Johnson don't stray too far from the tradition.

  • thanks bigge0369,i did find good music from Highway men too,i will check out that too

  • all good country singers dead, who is left to us old buddies or is there any real country music any more left

xXvuduchildXx you are drunk & RIGHT-(like me)like they say the stuff that conveys effectively universal truths of life, will be recognised...then reflected again...as other good artists eveb unconciously find themselves giving voice to it again ( it's said nothinhg is fully original- once you look back at what was before)though no persons will be another Jennings or Cash.

  • @zephyrseas Hmmmmmm...... Well, I'm glad I read this before I've had a few beers otherwise, I wouldn't known what the hell you were talkin' about! Lol! But I hear what you're saying, very well put!

  • Maybe jamey johnson????? But I love the real outlaws!!! Merle for president!!!!!

  • Tearin' it up as usual . Waylon was the best...

  • Most of today's so-called superstars can't get away with that kind of humor on stage. They have to have smoke, light shows, anything and everything, to fill in for what Waylon had; first and foremost honesty, then talent, passion for music, and refusal to compromise what is in their heart. That's why my two favorite fellow Texans are Waylon and Stevie Ray Vaughan. May they both rest in peace.

  • Been a Waylon fan since I was a little girl

    Happy 73rd birthday Waylon

You are greatly loved and missed

    Rest in peace

  • Been a Waylon fan since I was a little girl

    Happy 73rd birthday Waylon

You are greatly loved and missed

    Rest in peace

  • I'm building a Waylon Jennings memorial guitar. Can't wait to get it finished and plug a phase shifter to it, to get that Waylon sound.

  • Play it Moon ! ......Rockin' song gets my vote for best steel performance of all time.

    Wow

  • Mitt Romney will be the NexT PresiDent of the USA>>>>>>>>>

  • i didn't know much about ol waylon when he was young, but

i've seen & heard lots about that time, & OOOEEEE! he only got better & better!

what a serious HOTTY-HOT-HOTTY he was when he was a highwayman! and the quality of his voice would have made him look that way, even if he weren't--(which, by the way, he was; did i mention?). who couldn't LOVE this guy? i'll NEVER get enough of him!!

  • Thats it..........I'm gettin a "W" eagle tatoo......coolest dude ever.

    Long live Waylon.

  • Bless you Mr. Outlaw.

  • J'assimile Waylon Jennings à mon chanteur de country préféré ,super pour toutes ses prestations j'en fais mes meilleures éloges,et ne peut pas oublier Waylon car il fais rêver,il est super

  • Waylon Jennings is by far my favorite musician of all time and always will be...his music is always so real and played with that waylon style that only he could possibly have...he was the best and will always be the best

    Canada misses you too waylon

  • @fasterthanyou187 i agree fully he is the best in any type hands down everyone can relate to waylon in one way or another

  • yes-yes-yes---waylon's voice at its best. one of my favs...always love waylon!!!!

  • The song may be autobiographical because at the time the video was made( 1989), Waylon was pretty new at being off of drugs. However, this Bob McDill song is so funny to me (probably because I am in my early 60's), and it looks to me as though Waylon is having a great time singing it and can hardly keep from laughing. Can't say that I blame him. I think his daughter, Jennifer, does a great job of singing harmony for him too.

  • @sandladyvb This performance reminds me of the time he performed at the Boar's Nest, I thought it was a song about Uncle Jesse.

  • I do love this video, Waylon was one entertainer that will never be forgotten! He gave his fans' the BEST!

    Pat

  • GOD BLESS WAYLON JENNINGS

  • @texasno1rebel God definitely blessed Ole Waylon!!!

  • @texasno1rebel Amen!

  • Whats the title of this song?

  • I May Be Used (But I Aint Used Up)

  • normally I'd be offended by this comment. but, I'm not, it's hilarious.

  • pretty sure everyone here would appreciate if you'd get near a rhino soon,,,

  • @deebodeez2 I second that. What a jerk ...

  • What a great performer< Waylon is one of my favorites.! I love this video!!

    Thanks for sharing it!

    Pat

  • About 1960, night DJ Waylon put a 4-hr. reel on the Ampex and left a small desert radio station to play a Legion dance. After 1 a.m. a roving FCC inspector located the signal, with no sound and drove up to the station. He promptly shut it down, pulled the power, sealing the studio. Waylon had to remove the roof cooler, crawl inside and pass out personal stuff to the staff, before replacing the cooler to avoid jailtime. A female built him a club in Phoenix until she caught him cheating.

    He left.

  • Actually, a female didn't build him a club, it was a man, who told him that if he agreed to play there, he'd build it the way he wanted. That woman, worked at a different club and was obsessed with him, they got married and tried to have a kid, but she couldn't have any, and rejected his children because they weren't hers. He left because of the way she treated HIS children, not because he cheated.

  • i miss those coiled guitar cables

  • Why so?

  • I'm french and have always loved Waylon Jennings. I love that kind of country!

  • great video; He don't need no Rocking Chair; (he sang: "i may be used " --or 'something' - so it brought to mind --George Jones' song: "I Don't Need No Rockin Chair. We miss Waylon but his Memory Lives on!

  • love this song!!!!!!

  • two things I miss:Waylon&this skyline!

  • The Moon

  • He always had that twinkle in his eye too! He never took himself too seriously!...and that made him soooo appealing!

  • This is good!

  • Let's see today's punks rock like this. Can't be done.

  • the best

  • You know, Im gettin to be an old fart and tend to say country music will never be the same as when we had Johnny, Waylon, Willie, Merle, Buck, etc. But then I turn around and think country music will always survive. Before the outlaw movement came along, country music was perfectly packaged and clean cut. Todays music is the same, but I have faith in country music. Someone is gonna come along and kick Nashville in the ass the way these guys did! I'm either wrong, right, or just drunk! (2 of 3).

  • There will ALWAYS be some sort of Outlaw Country...you drunk bastard! Love 'em all!!!!

  • man never will country music see such greats (at around the same time) as george, waylon, hank, willie, merle, conway, tammy, loretta, kris,... Never

  • @xXvuduchildXx That person did. His name is Jamey Johnson!

  • @flhtone Ya, you got that right! I'm a big Jamey Johnson fan! Can't wait for his new double album to come out. I posted this about a year ago, then Jamey Johnson came along. You have a good ear for country music!

  • @xXvuduchildXx ....well i think you're very right!.....a drunk man's words are a sober man's thoughts...

    "In Vino Veritas"

  • @SheaBearden Hahahahaha! Well put! Hey, I was just being honest.

  • @xXvuduchildXx

Check out Whitey Morgan & The 78's out of Flint, MI

  • @sohottscott1 Will do. Check out Jamey Johnson (if you haven't already).

  • @xXvuduchildXx merle for President

  • @lee102780 Sounds good! How about Willie for Vice President and Hank Jr in charge of the military?

  • @xXvuduchildXx You're drunk and right. Time to find some more outlaws, but guys like Shooter, Wayne the Train, Hank III and the rest of Nashville and Texas outlaw artists are doin' pretty well at tearin' it up.

  • @SwampDaddy7 You gotta like Shooter! Kickin' Nashville in the ass but, not riding on his dads fame, he's blazing his own trail!

  • @xXvuduchildXx Exactly. Waylon would be proud of Shooter. Remembering his past while being cutting edge at the same time.

  • @xXvuduchildXx

Jamey Johnson is on his way to being an outlaw. He reminds me a lot of Waylon.

  • @airborneassasin Jamey is already doing it his way. Following in the steps of the greatest in country music!

  • @xXvuduchildXx I think Jamey Johnson is well on his way to doing this.

  • @xXvuduchildXx you re right but dwight yoakums still around

  • @xXvuduchildXx Dale Watson came along and of course Trashville ignored him, shame on them. This garbage

coming out of there now ought to be played in Iraq and Afghanistan the "terrrists" would come running out

    begging for mercy. R I P Waylon

  • @xXvuduchildXx you are right, my friend, i grew up 20 miles south of Austin, TX, spent lots of time in little place hearing Waylon and Jerry Jeff, Ray Wiley, then, later, Steve Earle....now there's Justin Townes Earle and the remarkable Joe Pug...it's not dead, but country music overall has become too predictable and safe....we need Waylon back, he went way too early......God bless him and his family....

  • @xXvuduchildXx It is just a matter of" Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes",

  • Top Notch

    ACL is fantastic

    RIP WAYLON

    JM

    KW

  • Its too bad he had to leave us so early. He sure could hold the crowd, and they loved him.. RIP Waylon

  • There is nothing on Earth like Waylon, he had a sound all his own.

    He was an absolute original.

  • ol hank merle coe and waylon are the best!

  • "I may be worn, But I ain't worn out"

  • Great! Not sure I´ve heard this before!

  • Waylon Jennings, Marty Robbins, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Sr, Buck Owens, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, June Carter, Conway Twitty etc.

Will we ever see the quality of their talent again? They kick ass and take names later.

  • They were the best.

  • one thing you're wrong on they kick ass but they dont take no names and leave no prisoners

  • Fantastic WJ !!

  • legend!!!

  • they are different. both are irreplaceable.

    Waylon Forever.

    Willie Forever.

    Highwaymen Forever.

  • We still have Willie

  • As good as willie is waylon is the best that there ever was

  • Thumb thumpin' on a leather-clad Telecaster with a phase shifter workin' overtime. It doesn't get any better.

  • I gotta say, he's one of my favorite singers.

  • gotta

  • Donny, yeah genuine legend, not many like him these days ? there's nobody like him these days.

  • Good song, along with his sharp wit.

  • Great tune. Mooney rules!

  • I miss Waylon...

  • That Waylon sound is aswome and

    one of a kind.

  • Ralph Mooney, what a steel guitar legend he is.

  • Back in the late 70's, I was hooked on what is now classic rock until I went to this little bar that played Waylon and Willie. They forever changed my musical preferences. Thanks for posting.

  • why would it have made you laugh a few years ago but now you like it?

  • its a great song, funny!! but now i can really relate to it... :)

  • To golbal2012: My guess would be that this song would make someone laugh until they got older and figured out the truth of it!

  • a few years ago this song would have made me laugh, but today, it just makes me smile!! :)

  • he is so hot

  • shit hot!!!

  • I think Hank Jr. is the tops.

  • fabfrith said: Watasha kicking his heels. lol The ol boy is a fine example of great Texas music.

    Ain't he just that!!!!!!!!!

  • I love all the outlaws/highwaymen. But Waylon is my top pick. A good friend of mine died on the 1st Anniversary of Waylon's death. CMT was playing a tribute and re-ran Waylon's ACL gig. A friend and I were drinking/mounring our buddies death, had the TV cranked up, stompin the floor to Done it this way. When my wife called she asked if I was at a concert. When the neighbor knocked on the door, he saw booze, a pistol, and us and said have a good one guys. You just can't beat a Waylon tune!

  • i grew up in Texas and was able to see Waylon and his beautiful wife, Jessie, several times along the way, at a lot of little out of the way places, clubs, bars, back before I got on the 12 step express....he was incredible...i miss him...

  • I'm 32 and been a fan of Waylon since I was a little girl. Waylon is my favorite country singer. This song is just one of my favorites of his. I play guitar but nothing like the way Waylon could. He could make a guitar sing. He had a unique sound and style. I wish I could have seen him in concert and meet him. My heart is heavy because we lost him much too soon.

  • This is no hank it is pure Waylon !!! God Bless him..

  • HELL YEA loong live this music!!!hannk III good 2

  • this is one bad motherfuker people is there any more like him.....

  • yeh theres hank williams jr

  • why in the hell is it this has been on here for 2 years and i had this entire show posted for 2 weeks and it was removed for "infringement?" the youtube executives are a bunch of hypo critic homos! if they single out people for infringement they might as well shut down the whole damn site!! it was built on infringement! and those cocksuckers at warner brothers need to come down off their high horse to they get there profit share from youtube!

  • I don't know but I would awfully depressed if these were gone.

What DVD's do you guys recommend for Waylons music?

  • the most awesome waylon dvd is the lost outlaw performance.you can download it from bt junkie.i made a dvd of waylon videos from youtube.i can tell you how if you want.just say the word.

  • What's your fave Meatloaf song? I know its not "cool" like the classic cuts, but Could'nt Have Said It Better is a fave of mine, even if it is more modern.

  • sorry mate what u on about?

o wait a sec i think i get it, ur a big celtic fan. RAAAAAAAAAAAAANGERS ALL THE WAY!!!!!!

  • Bat Of Hell 2 was OK, but the first 1 was the best! Havent even HEARD number 3!!!!

  • Undoubtedly the best ever. There are those who may get more recognition, but the voice with the rolling hard hittin' style is unparalled.

  • f-in "country legend" without comparison, this mans voice is thee best...... country ever, enjoy these post's people, because there is not a better front man in country, period............................

  • It ain't how you look, it's what you got under your hood

  • Tell that to Waylons face you coward

  • I'm so fond of this dvd. Texas country music rocks! Love that thumpin' and stompin' rhythm. Waylon was one of the greatest texans of all time!

  • ggeeeeeeezzz I miss waylon....it's just so sad that he had to go so soon!

  • I repeat myself, but the day he died my wife and I Q'ed up all our Waylon tapes and killed a fifth of scotch a frined had just brought me from Scotland...sad night. Ane when Willid dies all us old farts will cry for a week...

  • he is just incredible

  • My younger brother was going to be named after Waylon but my mom insisted that if he had that name fate would make him fat and everyone would call him "whale"

  • The greatest of the texans

  • Waylon was the best!!

  • Waylon had it all, man !!

  • you guys don't get it. Waylon was never an outlaw because he was always getting into fights - ehh, maybe one or two here and there. He was an outlaw because he bucked the power and the system in Nashville. And was successful...

  • just sayin because of the outlaw image not because they wouldactually get in afight

  • texas music rockz^^

  • interesting thought huh.

  • who wouldwin a fight john wayne or waylon jennings?

  • I think there seperate degrees of awesomness would keep them from hurting each other....they would prlly just write a sing about it.

  • great artist and man.....dont make em like waylon no more..

  • waylon is the king of country outlaws

  • I am not a country music fan, but I sure am a Waylon Jennings fan. If all country music were like his, I would be a fan. U R the best Waylon RIP
