some facts: 1) Muslim brotherhood said they will not contest the next elections. 2) they are not half as popular is glenn makes them to be and 3) they are not that well organised, they don't even have a charismatic leader 4) if you look at the hundered footages/inteviews of crowds that overthrow mubarak , they were asking for freedom and moden government not islamic rule..need to find another boogyman, what happened to soros and the collapse of the US by the end of the week thing?

@copybookheadings Qaradawi is a theologian and a tv chat host, he is not part of the political leadership of MB. What poll are you talking about? look up Washington institute recent poll.I quote : "The Muslim Brotherhood is approved by just 15 percent of Egyptians" .."Only 18 percent of Egyptians approve either Hamas or Iran." I have to agree with glenn on one thing is "do your own home work" advice, and don't start from a preconceived ideas.

@qpwillie what evidence? let's get scientific here, I challange you to do this simple experiment..look up as many interviews of protesters in egypt as you can from as many sources as possible. then count how many of them actually are calling for sharia, MB, or islam..etc. I have seen dozen and dozens of footages and yet to come acrosspeople calling for sharia overwhelming majority are simple asking for democracy, end of repression, more accountable government and freedom. show me where am wrong?

Is the army likely to let MB take power by force? No

Is the MB likely to win elections? No

And even if they do win by miracle, they'll have to do with a sizable secular section of society which will not let a theocracy in egypt.

what the pranoia about then? reminds of the madness when the islamic party won the elections in Turkey, years later in turkey is still a democracy and more prosperous than before....
