@redneckderek Absolutely. There are mines out there that can be fairly safely explored. However, it takes lots of training, and a mine like this with broken timbers and the walls collapsed into the adit are unsafe for ANYONE (Especially a little kid).
I too explore old mines in the Pacific Northwest, but we do so properly equipped. These folks seem to only have one light each, no hard hats, no gas meter, and no common sense. This is an accident waiting to happen. Good luck.
