I've started building my own flutes now, but I was just wondering about how the triple flute mouthpieces are shaped, is there any way you can maybe post a picture or video just showing the headpieces of the triple flute?
@geo289 Look under the video where my comments are. There's a link to the High spirits website. Go there & look under "Triple Flutes". The Eastern aromatic cedar version is $410.00; spanish cedar & walnut versions are $325.00. Not cheap, but loats of fun to play. Peace ~ Bruce
I'm curious to know if the double and triple flutes are more difficult to play than just the single flute? I enjoy watching your videos. The sounds from Native American Flutes are so soothing and healing as well. Beautiful.
The main difference is that there are two drone notes instead of one. Also, unlike the left-side drone, which has no holes, the right-side drone has three holes that can be covered or uncovered in whatever combination you like using the little leather straps. As you can hear in this video, I have two different drone notes going on: the fundamental A on the left, and a C on the right. Playing all 3 at the same time gives me some lovely full chords. It takes a good bit of air, though!
Yeah, the idea I have for this is more or less complete - not in this video, but on a file in my computer. I think it sounds best on the triple flute. It has more variety that way. Thanks again for the comment!
