  • oh my daays...just imagine a whole field of Jonty Rhodes.

  • Humans are 98% water.

    Jonty is 98% rubber.

  • @TheRooster94 I see your trying to copy sameep8, that is good, your one just sucks.

  • @Jamal92554 Well Adam Gilchrist did say Jonty Rhodes was the human rubber ball, you know.

  • i was also at the stadium and i congratulated jonty - Deepak kameshwar

  • he changed the trend of fielding by dives...

  • I saw the SA vs WI game in Mumbai ... this was a hero cup game... only my 2nd game ever in a Stadium... and I believe Jonty took some 4-5 catches in this game... the 2nd catch he takes in this video is Anderson Cummins' catch and the crowd went mad!!!

  • @tapsy27 I was at this game too. At Brabourne Stadium. This is the game that Jonty took 5 catches for a world record. I missed Lara's catch, as I was in the line for Samosas and the line was long. That was the best of the lot. He came from nowhere to grab that one. So I was told. Cullinan scored 77 along with Jonty restored the innings. Remember this game like it was yesterday.

  • We need more characters like him. He was the absolute best fielder I've seen and also whacked a few over square leg for sixes coming late in the middle order. Nice bloke too..

  • he is da best fielder ever in the cricket history..a salute to him

  • the master in the field

  • God of fielding-Jonty

  • Chuck Norris would've FAILED at all attempts at Rhodes' catches.

  • @brainlesschatter mmm...yep agreed

  • Match by match catch by catch - LOL!

  • @anirbanghoshraniganj tu kyu thanks bol raha hai .. tu jhonty hai kya :P

  • extraordinary cetch!!

  • @SuperKXT I 100% agree with you! he's the best fielder!

  • @SuperKXT What about Collingwood?

  • @vorgaphe What about him?

  • never seen anyone better than him...

  • he's the best fielder ever lived...!!!

  • @brynjones11 - Jonty didn't bowl, and he was just an OK batsman, but when he was picked for the team for every match, then it says something about his value to a team. If the ball went anywhere near him he stopped it. That itself, saved around 50 runs per innings, which is a nice batting average... and if the ball was in the air then the batsman was out... simple as that. Jonty was, and still is, a legend in cricket.

  • johnty rhodes is one of the greatest fielders ever ... this statement can be stated false only when .....

someone even better than him comes..... hehehehehe :-P

  • i dont get it? why does everyone go on about how good rhodes is at fielding?

  • @brynjones11

maybe because he really was very very good??

  • LOL @sameep aptly put.

  • tht match was sa vs. win may be in hero honda cup n yeah dude yes. india loss by big margin against oz wt u say on it :::

  • Jonty Rhodes = Legend

  • damn, jonty must have had screwed up hands after his career, they had to have taken a beating from catching so many high speed cricket balls, musta felt like catching high speed rocks.

  • win commentator is win

  • Jonty Rhodes is the best!!!

  • 75% of earth is covered with water, the rest 25% by Jonty Rhodes

  • @sameep8 Haha, I like that =]

  • @sameep8 WOW whatta comment . Like dat dude - would luv to see Jonty's reaction that :)

  • @sameep8 at the heart of humans on that 25% r covered by ur comment.

  • @sameep8 best comment in the history of youtube

  • @pz0ut best reply in the history of planet earth

  • @pz0ut what is the comment??

  • @sameep8

    well said man

  • @sameep8 Brilliantly put!

  • @sameep8 well said dude...\m/

  • @sameep8, actually, the correct term is the rest 25% is covered by Troy Polamalu. I would like to see this "Monty Rhodes catch 2 interceptions a game. Football is much harder to succeed in then rugby. Look him up!

  • @Bobberfrank08 This is cricket, not rugby. Rugby is a different sport than American football, stop comparing the two, it is useless. The Troy guy, he is good yes, but at American football.

  • @goodyto, oops i meant cricket. Cricket is basically a cross of baseball and football, but with no contact on the catches.

  • Cricket is NOTHING like American Football.

  • @Bobberfrank08 Err... I get that Baseball is the stupid version of Cricket, but Football? O.o

    What's the damn relation??

  • @HegdePawan, other way around baseball is more exciting. The football part is with the catching and running. You have to catch the ball and knock over those sticks before the runner can get there that is like the endzone.

  • @Bobberfrank08

Baseball is just throwing and hitting. There isn't much skill - just power. Plus, it seems to be very slow. Cricket on the other hand is quick flowing. (not talking about Test Cricket)

Hmmm... My knowledge of American Football is limited. I didn't know there were any sticks involved.

  • @HegdePawan, I would like to see a cricket player throw a 100mph fastball. Baseball revolves around skill entirely. The amazing throws and catches are all skill.

  • @Bobberfrank08

    Exactly my point :)

It's just throwing and catching. Cricket has a lot of other things too. That makes it more interesting.

  • @Bobberfrank08 what do you think fast bowlers do??

  • @lourens29, i doubt the ball bounces in at 100 mph

  • @Bobberfrank08 Actually... the fastest Cricket pitch is 101.2 mph and the fastest pitch in Baseball was recently just broken by Chapmann in the Reds who threw a 104.2 until then it was just 101 something. So with the same rarity/frequency as a Baseball pitcher a Cricket pitcher throws it in the 100mph range. As for fielding both games have some spectacular fielding done by some spectacular players. Just enjoy the game dude.

  • @princeofvellore13, 102 somehing actually. ya just enjoy it

  • @sameep8 - what a way to put it buddy :) ...( one of the best comments i have read on youtube ) :)

  • ITZ SIMPLY AMAZING>>>>>SEEN NO ONE LIKE HIM............(except a little in GiBsy)

  • miss jhonty on the field..seen no one like him so far..

  • I had the privelage of watching the match in the stadium way back in 1993...the entire stadium was packed and was shouting -- jonty jonty...brilliant match!!!

  • he was the first fielder who got man of the match for his catches hats off rhodes

  • @yudi631 Hey could you tell me which match it was?

  • He is flying as if he is from some other planet & the ground is a spongy bed

  • amazing filder.

  • jonty rhodes practising 1000 of cathes everyday

  • @tttoyotaaa lol he didnt,

  • shut up

  • inspiration to all and the father of modern cricket coz he taught that fielding is as important as bating and bowling.

  • @rafial1000 That's so true, but it would seem that SA have been the first team to forget that! SA fielding in the last few months has been terrible. India are showing them up in the current series!!!!

  • @MGWhitfield agreed, its sad

  • @MGWhitfield Thats because Gary Kirsten still remembers the lessons his old team mate taught him
