Don't worry about getting sad about what happened with Jacob's Wife b/c I got emotional also. I'm not sure if this helps, but I heard that if you're leveled up enough and you run into enemies, you'll just knock them and you get the experience w/o having to battle.

The Spud Bug battle looked annoying because they kept calling for help, good news was you got a lot of experience...as you said in the video :P
