Relating to the top commentor; I too am an American, and I love Bill to bits. He's not as harsh as other comedians often can be, and I can really relate to that. American comedians especially seem to revel in foul language and racial slurs to get them through their shows, and Bill's jokes are so fresh and easy to relate to. I hope I can see him when he goes on tour in America again.
I've seen Bill Bailey live 3 times - one of the shows twice - and theres no other comedian i would go to see without fail. He moulds his act to fit the audience of that night and can improvise to a degree that is enviable . And you always come away learning something, esp something musical. I hope he comes back to Melbourne soon :)
When I show alot of my friends some of Bill Bailey's shows that think he's a stupid childish idiot, but these interviews prove that he is very intelligent and that a lot of thought goes into his "childishness".

Ever heard the cliché that women aren't funny???
I rest my case.
Mainly stems from the fact that they laugh at EVERY seemingly fucking 'funny' thing mentioned. Bill's a legend, but he barely got a snigger out of me... and I'M A BIG FAN!!!
She should (continuously) thank her husband, for her career,...
He really is. Played 6 nights in Glasgow last week , on the Monday I met him at the stage door ( didnt have a ticket for that night was just in town at same time so popped along ) got a photoThough because I had no ticket to the show or merchandise I had nothing for him to sign but a Train Ticket He had a chuckle, signed and apologised for invalidating my ticket oh shit - Saturday I went to his show, met him d and said ''train ticket didnt work, been here since Monday, freezing'' He remembered
I'm an American who absolutely loves Bill. His comedy is original and clean, and he is one of the most unpretentious celebrities (and especially comedians) out there. This very open interview (where, for example, he doesn't hide behind jokes to avoid answering the revealing questions) confirms what I've always thought about him based upon his act. He's simply great.
I rekon the reason why this interview is so open and interesting is because he is being interviewed by a comedian, someone who can relate to him and vice versa.
It would be a different conversation if he was talking with a journalist or a t.v host or doesn't see comedy as an art form
I agree. I don't know much about Dawn French but a quick read about her suggests that the public either loves or hates her. Regardless, she did a great job of making Bill relax and open up, but not making the interview about her. Well done.
"steal a bunch of stationary... from your own house" Made me crack up :) definitely of all the quality standups Bill Bailey shares my sense of humour the most. And his most recent show, the guide to the orchestra was truly fantastic!

Sarah Silverman is the ONLY female comedian that knows this, however, she is DIRTY... and not the kind of dirty that makes 'dudes' high five!
She travels to the utmost extreme, that makes 'us' go.... "uggh... shit, that's pathetic, bitch!"
Selling her pussy out like that n'shit.
Damn
P.S. And NO I do NOT wanna fuck Matt Damon.

i love Dawn's cackling at the end. Also to see a comedian be honest in an interview is really refreshing.
