you can play it cool with alternate pıckıng but as a lecturer you have to indicate that the original picking style of this song is downpicking . Therefore you make people aware of the situation so people can make their own choice. That is all sir.

There are a couple of reasons for this.

You will never get the same sound as on a record as they record the same guitar part 4-8 times with slightly different amp sets. Also, for every amp, these settings are different. And, when you are playing with a vox or fender amp, you'll never be able to get a sound like this in the first place.

Actually the first cord is a open E power Cord and the other power cords are on the 10th 9th and 8th fret of the E string and you use those as your root notes, but still, Good lesson :)
