What ever happened to the Christian right of the repukian party anywhay? did they up and move to Iwrack? If Iwrack has universal health care then why don't Americans, huh? lets send all these hillbillies to Iwrack.
This Healthcare bill is a joke! The people are sick of having the government "shout them down". (by the way - insurance companies have nothing to do with it) They are trying to be heard - and if the government did a better job at trying to listen, the people would not have to resort to shouting to get their point across... It would also help if the government stopped saying one thing and doing another - does not foster trust by the People. I am proud of those who stood up with their voice!!!
@ConservativeMother The healthcare bill is not a "joke." It will allow you to not get dropped if you lose your job and will end the insurance companies cherry picking only healthy people.
I'm sorry jensen1901... I am all for healthcare reform for the reason you state - but have you read this bill? I have only made it to page 45 so far and already I have found MANY things that I disagree with. In this bill (page 19) they want to repeal subpart 3 of the public health service act (42 3U.S.C. 300gg-11 et seq.)... That is your right to own private health care and your guarantee to renew that healthcare. They also want to set up "Gateways" (page 40) and "Navigators" (page 45)...
These gateways and navigators will act like Unions over the Healthcare companies. Not only that - they will have full access to ALL your medical records! And they have power to change what your doctor is doing if they don't think it is right... I'm sorry - but I don't trust a group of gov workers to make decision on my health for me. I think we are too hasty on this bill and REAL reform (like allowing insurance agencies to cross state lines) is not even put in the bill! This admin does not
want reform... they want a government takeover! Don't take my word for it - read the bill! Look at how vague they state everything and how they say in almost every section - "As the Secretary may see fit" (That is the Secretary of Human and Health Services).
Before Welfare Reform in the 90's - for ever dollar spent only 23 cents made it to recipient because of gov oversight - I think we will see the same exchange if not worse here... this will NOT lower cost!
@ConservativeMother You are being intellectually dishonest when you say "they want a government takeover." Are they buying all the hospitals? No. Are they telling doctors what to do? No. Are insurance companies going out of business? No. In fact, it is the opposite, look at insurance company stick--all of the are up over 10% because smart people know they are getting more custoners now because more Americans will be insured. Now everyone can get insured. It WILL LOWER COSTS.
Obama has said in his words that he is in favor of a "Single-Payer System" (look up Obama-Single Payer System 2007)... "We won't be able to eliminate Employer Coverage immediately... there will be some transition period - I can envision, a decade out or 15 years or 20 years out..." Those are his exact words!!! That is what I mean by a "government takeover" - getting to a socialist, government run, single payer system where you will not have the freedom or option to buy private healthcare...
There are better ways to get more Americans insured - they could have "No pre-existing condition clauses" they could allow insurance to cross state-lines thereby opening up competition (the public option does not open up competition) and they could have real tort reform that would lower the cost of malpractice insurance and thereby lower doctor's costs.
Unfortunately they came up with over 1,000 page bill that WILL RAISE COSTS and only addresses one of those issues (pre-existing conditions).
Kinghoran's comment is about as slanted as CNN's. People are rightfully angry because no one has bothered to ask what they think. When someone is trying to shut you out, you have no choice but to shout.
It's nice how republicans are allowed to protest rather than democrats during Bush administration getting arrested or asked to leave. Isn't it nice how when a Democrat is in power ppl can speak up? Republicans wouldn't notice that though, they're too concerned with making sure their voice is loudest.
I will agree that MOST are nicer with whomever agrees with them; however, I love and respect others and can agree to disagree. We must admit that reporters are to be held to a higher standard in being non-biased. =0) Maybe I just believe that because I'm old and wrinkled. Back in my day, reporters reported. =0)

If you want to see real angry mobs, check out the only video I have ever posted, which exposes Democrats for being complete hypocrites by reminding them what their ugly protests looked like against Bush.
i saw the video you posted, the difference is the protesters didn't want AMERICAN soldiers dying on a needless war, back in 06' a jewish fella was happy to kow AMERICANS were fighting the arabs, he gave two shits about AMERICANS, he just wanted dead arabs, republicans support the troops thousands of miles away while drinking there coffee at starbucks, and checking there oil stock, Democrats supporting troops BRING THEM HOME from that useless war.
Where exactly was the angry mob? I saw protesters, but no mob. Even though they were all walking, somehow he was being chased? And they talk about the republicans posting something and editing it. Yet they edited what they showed on CNN. A lot was cut out between questions. Probably because the man was actually able to respond to the question. There was no agenda, people go because they don't agree with the bill. Regardless of what you think of the bill, there was no mob.
Companies that "Can't profit" go bankrupt idiot. Private industry falls and government takes over. Everybody is equally treated like shit. The best of Japan are here in America idiot. Stop sucking Obamas nutts and realize u are wrong.
For the last time you republican rednecks. he is trying to model health care reform based on the hybrid system. which is both a private option and a public option. this is used in Germany, Japan, New Zealand, France, and taiwan. which are of course a success. But fox news and hillbillies like limbaugh, hannity, and levin don't tell you about this.
they can only come up with Canada. which what they've been using over and over again. here;s an example of a hybrid system: Japan.
Hell, I'm glade you pointed out the fact that im a hill billy redneck. Hell, I was feeding my horse scratchin my nutts Hahahaha. WE GOT A GENIUS here!!! hahahah Idiot!
We must admit that the Japanese people are collectivist in nature and FAR less likely to take advantage of socialist programs. Americans on the other hand will milk a system until it's out of money and still hold their hands out. I have a cousin who won't go to work because she'd lose her welfare, and her kids are being raised by her grandmother! Just watch a Pride or a Dream fight and compare it with a UFC fight. Japanese people are far more respectful!
Are these rich people, who might actually have to pay their way, if we have healthcare reform, or are they recruited from insane asylums? Since Reagan closed the asylums and turned the mentally ill into the streets in the 1980s, maybe the GOP simply recruits them from the streets. The GOP wants to be a totalitarian regime. They are violating the Constitutional right of the freedom of speech of others. They should be jailed. If liberals did this, they would be.
What kind of weed are you smoking? Those people pay already, the gov will make idiot liberals like you who don't pay, pay. It will be like making u buy expensive car insurance. it will hurt our economy and cripple our wallets. Grow a brain before you cut down the people trying to save your dumbass money.
I have a brain, thanks; you should grow a conscience. We should raise taxes 8-10% across the board to pay for healthcare. Americans live in fear of losing their healthcare if they change or lose their job. It's time for everyone to pay, including the rich, for a healthcare package that is worthy of the U.S.
the rich already pay 60% of the bill. U and I are considered rich to the gov idiot. The mega rich are taxed more then you can imagine. Obama wants more money. Its called socialism idiot. It kills countries, ask Russia. Stop acting like u have a brain and move out of America.
Well, if I'm considered rich by the govt idiot, I know why he or she is referred to as the govt idot. What exactly do you contribute to our fine society, my new, little friend? It seems that you might just sit around masturbating to images of Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, and Michael Savage. I'll be staying in America, thank you, since my family has been here since 1803. Who is the socialism idiot to whom you refer? Is he/she related to govt idiot? Taxes and socialism build good societies.
Wow, your entire paragraph is filled with ignorance. Don't even know were to begin. I guess i'll address the most coherent sentence. people bulid good societies not goverment taxes idiot.
Now, you addressed someone named government taxes idiot. Is this person also related to govt idiot and socialism idiot?
Well, I've played with you long enough. Here's a hint, my little friend, I'm toying with you, and I've grown weary of it. Your intellect is immeasurable small compared to mine. You lack of command of the English language is just one example of your stupidity. I realize that you are calling me an idiot, but your inability to write makes your sentences incomprehensible.
WOW! Lemme guess: you're parents are wealthy and you feel guilty for everything being given to you? I don't mean to be rude, but most people who work hard and sacrifice for everything they have are less likely to want to give to others so they can buy votes or pay people to make bad choices. You may be different, though. No one gave me a damn thing, but I DO help others as much as I can.
Wrong again. My dad has worked in the copper mines of Montana since the age of 18. If Reagan hadn't broken the unions, he'd be retired now, and living on a pension. I think you're exactly wrong. My father has worked full time since he was 13 years old, and he is very generous. He supports socialized medicine. Why, if you're so against giving free handouts, are you supporting the rich CEOs of the insurance industry, and the un-taxed rich?
I believe thatbanking institutions are more dangerousto our liberties than standing armies. If theAmericanpeople ever allow private banksto control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive thepeople of all property until their children wake-uphomeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks & restoredtothepeople, towhomitproperly belongs.-Jefferson
Eisenhower said essentially the same thing about the dangers of the military industrial complex, and the religious right one hundred fifty years after Jefferson said it. The bank bail out under Bush and Obama was a mistake.
I've worked since 14, but that was before electricity was invented. Politicians are the ones supporting the rich CEOs, not I. Freedom is the most important thing. Even Marx admitted that in order to have socialism, one MUST relinquish liberties. Rich people exist in socialist economies, especially since the ability for the people to become rich is stripped away. Politicians are the ones who helped the insurance co's do what they're doing in the first place! They don't care about us.
12 dog.....everyone in iraq doesnot have healtcare insurance......and Healthcare reform forces those who do not have private insurance to have government insurance w/o the possibility to ever go back to private insurance.......you gotta be stupid to allow a government run healthcare that has a broke medicare, ss, among other things.......government putting private industry out of business is nothing short of communism/socialism
The Republicans inherited a surplus -spent it all -created debt with Iraq, forgot the common American with no healthcare insurance. Iraq has health care for each person-thanks to the USA. Now that Democrats are covering those people finally-the Republicans are blocking this? Says alot for republicans against America. This country has to stop bending to the will of those who profit from health care-its about time. Health is a right -not a luxury.
It wasn't the republicans that spent out the surplus and decided to invade Iraq. That was our country, our senate our right and left government officals that voted in all of the throughout the past eight years policies. That said not everything republican senators do represent actual republican politices. reps from both the right and left are just as currupt and have the same socialist policies. Mccain Obama more of the same.
Um, wait a second. Before the community organizer-in-chief was elected, I thought "dissent was the highest form of patriotism."
Mainstream Americans are waking up to what this administration is trying to ram down their throats. A trillion dollars here, a trillion there. Government takeovers of private industries. A government that crawls on its belly before Communist China and begs them to keep buying our debt. And now it's determined to put us on the road to socialized medicine.
Yes they conveniently "wake up" after Bush set spending records and burned through the surplus and killed a trillion bucks on liberatin' Eye-rack. Right.
republicans need to shut their old mouths, they have done nothing but ruin this country for generations. Your time is over, your generations of selfishness are OVER!
is cnn honestly trying to make it seem like challenging the government is wrong? People are allowed to get a little angry it's not like anyone brought their guns.I thought cnn was the channel that won't stop winning about how America should be a democracy?
are they challenging, or just yelling and hearing what they want to hear? Stop defending these sour grapes assholes, whats ironic is that the republican party has asked for reform years ago and now they are mad? that doesnt seem right
who said they are republicans? the media? the government officals who are for healthcare? Not all of the protestors were republicans and even if most of them are who says Bush and all the other rep senators are accurate depictions of what true republicans stand for? Just like on the left there are many representives on the right that are greedy and currupt. and in all honesty who cares if they are shouting its within our rights to shout
How dare these people question their selfless elected public officials. Don't these people know that you can't express displeasure toward politicians..... Aren't they aware you are supposed to bow down and kiss their asses.
The RNC could only wish to orchestrate a movement like this! These are REAL people with real concerns and congress people are ignoring them and denying them! What is happening in Washington?! What ever happened to "democracy"?
Once you take the oath of office you serve all Americans you idiot. You don't get elected then go serve Dems only. Then again what do you expect from Dem officers holders that don't seem to even have GED reading or math skills.
Thats a really good point cause so many people keep arguing that it was Bush that spent the whole Surplus out when actually Bush voted for a lot of Democrat spending bills and such because he wanted to be able to represent the Dems while also fighting his war in Iraq that many people from the right wanted.
This is just another scumbag politician that doesn't understand the people are finally waking up. This is not a Republican or a Democratic issue. The people are sick of both parties. They want their government to answer to their will not the will of special interests and corporations. I think every time any politician shows his face in public he should be shouted down, jeered and told to leave us alone and stop federal government interference in our lives. Enough is Enough!!!!
CNN and MSNbc supports the Progressive Movement and their elected legislators which will be removed in November 2010.
Rep. Lloyd Dogget (D-TX) is going to be deleted.

God help us.

Yes they conveniently "wake up" after Bush set spending records and burned through the surplus and killed a trillion bucks on liberatin' Eye-rack. Right.

Protesting is one thing, but mob rule is one of the most anti-American approaches to "democracy."

republicans need to shut their old mouths, they have done nothing but ruin this country for generations. Your time is over, your generations of selfishness are OVER!

Now it's your turn to ruin this country, right? Well, you are doing a good job of it.
I will tell you this much, you will be defeated! One way or another, you and your gang of fascists will be defeated!

is cnn honestly trying to make it seem like challenging the government is wrong? People are allowed to get a little angry it's not like anyone brought their guns.I thought cnn was the channel that won't stop winning about how America should be a democracy?
Laxinlovin08 2 years ago
are they challenging, or just yelling and hearing what they want to hear?
