  • i have an hp pavillion 2000 and i dont have the bios settings like the others where it has the boot option so i cant change anything help

  • ok i have solution.. go to your bios setting .how to go there depends on your pc. f2 ,f10 del etc. ok there u have set these 3 things

    1.. ATA /IDE : NATIVE

    2..CONFIGURE SATA : AHCI

    3.. S.M.A.R.T : ENABLE

    IT WILL SOLVE PROBLEM

  • @redrose754 It won't solve the problem. Don't be such a smart shit.

  • @thewowcreators This fucking worked -_- you pc is shit! you go to you boot options and then find these and if you dont have it THATS BECOSE YOURE MOTHERBOARD HAVE OTHER SETTINGS now shut it it worked so!

  • @qwertyuiop246603 "Still waiting for root device error" is the system unable to find the place where the installation files are. You're right in some cases. I'll give you that :p. But 80% of cases it won't fix it. Simply because no 2 PC's are the same. I fixed the error because I loaded from a HDD instead of a CD. Thought of that you smart prick?

  • @MegaSubscibe OMG U MADE IT WORK :OOOOO LOVE YOU

  • try -s then type "mount -uw /" without quotes and it will boot if it doesnt try "fsck -fy" and it will fix some probs which are found within your HDD if both of these dont work sumthng maybe up with ur HDD or DVD and if ur using 64 bit find some site which can give u instructions on how to boot to 64 bit and if i remember correctly i dont think kalyway supports 64 bit

  • go intel

  • I Got The Same Problem And Don't Know How To Fix I Am Still Trying To Find A Solution And I Couldn't Find A Way To Fix it

  • DUDE I KNOW THE SOULTION FIRST IF YOU DIDNT INSTALL IT YET THEN YOU NEED TO TYPE THIS AFTER PRESSING F8: -v -x -flags and that should boot if, you did install it reinstalling and in customize you have to select one of the chipset drivers

  • go into your bios and put your sata drive in ahci mode. it should be under the advanced tab. if youre like me and there isnt an option in bios for ahci, then you need a sata card.

  • Had the same problum,Fixed you must have your DVD rom drive set to MASTER

and Hard Drive set to master then F8 then -v

  • @cavepupps How do you set hard drive and dvd drive to master, DVD is on master but hard drive is on IDE Channel 0 Slave

  • at darwin press F8

    then try typing : -x -F or just -F

    to skip diagnostic testing.

This worked for me and I was able install but not boot. This might be able to fixed through reinstalling again and choosing different options through the customize button when installing.

  • @R75700TROK Thanks man !!

    Worked for me 2 :D

  • @R75700TROK Huh... Never would have guessed I'd find the answer on youtube. haha thanks!

  • I meant from ide to ahci and check out my post on insanely mac search google for mac os x86 xfx mg-63mi

  • use this I had this same problem its not your processor it has to be your ata or sata controller. oich controller has to do with usb ports try using -v -f to boot and change you sata aid controller tfrom ide to ahcp contact me on here

  • What to do..it worked some months ago now i try to reinstall it and get this stupid error...

Using Sata HDD and IDE Blueray Drive

  • Are you using SATA?

I'd reccomend use iPC 10.5.6 Universal if you use SATA/ATA drives.

  • i hate this stupid error.

  • OK Pal,

I had the same stupid error as you. What I did is this in Bios:

Drives: Sata Enabled, Smart Disabled, ATA/IDE Native.

In Boot config MAX CPUID Enabled

    And it worked

  • wich of these are the determining one? you did alot of things here.

do all bios have this options?

  • Surely you are using sata HDD. If you are using amd chipset such as 780, load bios settings and set Sata as secondary. This might only work for v10.5.6 or newer. However, you can also disable the Onchip SATA channel and physically conecting an IDE HDD.

    It worked for me.

  • get a new disk and type

    cpus 1

  • I enabled RAID in bios and its past that part and looking good.

  • i also have sata but putting on raid did not get me past still waiting

  • Okay, So the HD must be set as a master, the CDrom must be set as a slave. Also the HD must be a clean formatted fat32 disk. You are getting this because the kernel is unable to read the Hard disk. :-)

  • its not true i went into the install before with ntsf however i dont know why i oculd go into it before but not now.. and i get still waiting.

  • someone just said it must be on master dvd. drive.

  • Here's how to get pass it. Change your boot order to USB. Then plug a flash drive, any flash drive, and then reboot it. That will lead you to the installation. Then when you install, format drive c or other partition you have. This solves my computer.

  • lol i forgot but what is a flash drive?

  • first of all, look in which port is your hard disk conected. In my case, if it wasn't in the 1st or the 2nd it wouldn't recognize my drive.

Then take your dvd drive out of the case so you could look behind it. You should see the letters SL, CS and MA. SL is for Slave, CS is for cable select, and MA is for master. There are some kind of pins back there that are called jumpers and you have to check in which one of those is something you can remove and put it where it says master.

  • i solved it changing my ide dvd drive to master, and my hard drive to the second sata port (i had it on the 3rd). I hope this works for you too.

  • Could you tell me how to do that...

  • you should use cable or change pins or do both?

i really doubt this will change the outcome.

    its so staburn.

  • Tira do modo sata e coloca no mode AHCI na bios

  • hy there

i am also facing this error

i dont know how to over come on it

    "ICHx Fix"

where can i find this option

    plz help

  • he can´´t fin ur HDD .. if u wanna installit u need a SATA _if u got one activate "AHCI" in ur BIOs xD Hope it couls help u _

  • i get the exact same massage....im trying to figure this out..

  • at the boot prompt type in "-v -x" without the quotes then hit enter

  • Comment removed

  • I have the same problem. From what I heard, this can be fixed by installing the ICHx Fix during installation.

  • but what if you cant get into install at all?

  • srry to say this but that motherboard may be incompatible :(

    i know my mobo isn't compatible :(
